4.4.2? yes we all should have it
Hi,
But if I'm not wrong 4.4.2 is only KOT49H?
https://developers.google.com/android/nexus/images#hammerhead.
Also it's me or the "dev-keys" should be "test-keys" or "release-keys"? But not sure about this, I don't remember on stock...

Hi. Yes I'm on KOT49H too. But this guy's phone updated to KOT49N and this build was done on January 10. So I asked him about this and I'm waiting for his answer

This, is read from the build.prop, so it "can" be edited...
The baseband also is not the current one compared to the others...

LG brought this phone for him for review and now he is using it as main handset and receive some updates from google. And I ask people if they received the same updates as him. Also I think you can't change the name of the kernel, like Google did. Yes, baseband updated.

Ah ok, so this is maybe an explanation...
Build numbet is stored in the, build.props. The modem version and kernel version is somewhere in the modem.img and boot.img.
If it's not fake, then this is a test a build by google/lg for its testers

There were some bugs fixed and added to AOSP source on January 10th, so maybe this holds some relevance.

ART will not be enabled until the next major release. I highly doubt we will see it enabled in a bug fix release.
Wonder if this release has the newest video drivers released by Qualcomm back on Jan 24th.
Release notes from this driver update:
•Add support for GL_EXT_multisampled_render_to_texture extension.
•Fix incorrect output with glReadPixels() on an FBO with a texture attachment which is a cubemap face.
•Fix incorrect lighting in the UBOTest example from the Adreno SDK. This fix addresses problems with scalar operations on UBOs.
•Performance enhancements for rasterizer discard.
•Performance enhancements for transform feedback.
•Fix issue with graphics driver being unable to find and load Adreno Profiler libraries.
•Cleaner handling for internal compiler error cases for UBOs.
•Faster rsGetElementAt() and rsSample() runtime performance for programs that access many Allocation objects.
•Improved stability when compiling complex RenderScript code.
•Allow a count of zero in calls to glDrawBuffers() as per spec.
•Fix errors in calculation of 2D texture array slice sizes for NPOT textures.
•Generate GL_INVALID_VALUE from glTexStorage2D() and glTexStorage3D() when width, height, or depth exceed supported size.
•Fix behavior of glGetFramebufferAttachmentParameteriv() to properly return GL_FRAMEBUFFER_DEFAULT for the default framebuffer instead of returning GL_NONE. (See OpenGL® ES Version 3.0 spec §6.1.13.)
•Change glCopyTexImage2D() to prohibit SNORM as a destination format, as per Table 3.15 of the OpenGL® ES Version 3.0 spec.
•Relaxed restrictions on the width and height parameters of glCompressedTexSubImage2D() to allow updates of 1x1 and 2x2 miplevels for ETC2/EAC formats. The incoming data buffer must still have its width and height padded to four, as required by ETC2/EAC, but the width and height parameters to the function call may reflect the actual texture dimensions.
•Fix a potential double-free of memory inside glLinkProgram().
•Fix reported value of gl_MaxVertexTextureImageUnits for GLES 3.0 hardware.
•Add support for the following built-in constants in GLSL 3.0:
◦gl_MaxVertexOutputVectors
◦gl_MaxFragmentInputVectors
◦gl_MinProgramTexelOffset
◦gl_MaxProgramTexelOffset
•Fix transposition of u and v coordinates in GLSL textureOffset() and texelFetch() functions.
•Fix loss of w coordinate in GLSL textureOffset() and texelFetch() functions.
•Fix GLSL matrix constructor to accept an array of matrices.

I don't expect it will otherwise we'd see a bump in build number and anyway I hope not at least not until or even if Xposed becomes compatible. As much as I like the improvements ART brings I prefer my Xposed mods applied.
People seem to forget that despite moving the ART change to the master branch, it may very well be excluded/reverted in future final builds. Just remember the camera changes that were excluded from the KitKat update.
So don't blame Google if ART is not the default runtime in the next version. I can already see those "this is not a complete update..." , "Google failed to deliver" ... comments being thrown around

Please leave some feedback, the more detailed the better.
This beta will run till 12/12/2010, at that point the file will be automatically unshared and deleted. So please download and give feedback.
About the application:
This is just a basic heads up display application with a bit more info than the ones that I was seeing on the market. It displays your current Speed, direction and time in both regular display and a HUD mode(where it flips the image vertically). To enable hud mode simply tap the screen. To switch back, just tap the screen once more. You can also change the speed units from MPH to KPH by tapping the settings button in the bottom right corner. This application makes use of the GPS for speed and direction, and the internal system clock for the time.
Please note, the application may not function as intended, in this case please leave a reply with what happened, and any steps required to reproduce the error.
Thanks
Updated the beta build to which will most likely be the final beta before release(any major bugs pending of course)
Changelog:
*Added settings menu to switch between KPH and MPH
*Properly calculates correct speed based on setting
*Fixed large number showing across screen
*Added speed type display below speed

Hi!
nice app but one stupid question... how can I install it?
thanks!
You have to unlock your phone and then use xapdeploy which is part of the SDK in the dev toolkit for Win Pohne.
BTW installed just fine and it appears to be working as intended with the exception of instead of stating 0 when you are not moving is states NAN?

Works on my device with no flaws however I wasn't moving so I'll update my post when I get a chance to try. The app did display "0" and not "waiting for GPS signal" so I am assuming it is communicating with the GPS properly.

Thanks for that bit of feedback, it seems I fixed the previous issue of it displaying "NAN" when you were still, if it isn't displaying waiting for GPS that means it should be finding your location properly. Let me know how it goes after trying it out while moving. if all goes well it should find its way into the market.
So when I am moving it shows a 6-7 digit number that runs off of the screen, seems to change when I change speed but the number makes no sence.

Beta 3 is out, download link is the same, please download again and let me know if it works.
Thank you everyone for the feedback, it is very hard trying to debug a location app without actual hardware. So thank you for all your patience and feedback
Yeah I have the same large number downloaded it this morning about 9am GMT
It would be better to have what units Its going in, mph or km/h
Do you do any checking of the quality of the GPS fix? using the DOP values, i cant rememeber off the top my head what is a good value but the lower it is the better?
other cosmtic things you could have is that you could change the colour of the numbers
you could have a trip counter so you can calculate the average speed and travel time
Hope this helps
Hi, this looks fantastic, credit to creator. I was wandering if this could be done for WM6.5? There is nothing like this on WM iPhone. Just superb
Well I should have a test device very soon so I can debug properly. Once I finish some testing on my own device I will release a new version.
Alrighty, got my HD7 to test this bad boy on, fixed the issues that it had(rather stupid ones )

Hello everybody!
I found this nice aplication on F-Droid called Moss.
As a long-time Linux & Conky user I felt right at home and made a config script to fit my Galaxy Mini's poor screen resolution.
After installing Moss (either with the f-droid app or from playstore), download the zip file below and unpack it in a convenient place.
move one or more mpk files to your sdcard.
you MUST have resources (folder "res" inside the zip file) either in /sdcard/moss/res or in /data/data/moss/res.
it's easier to copy the folder to the sdcard, but then your config shows an error while you use the sdcard as usb-storage.
if you don't like that try "adb push res /data/data/moss/res" instead, then choose the appropriate config file.
From your phone's file browser, tap the file, Open with Moss, and tap "Okay" in the end.
After that you can choose Live Wallpapers => Moss => Settings... => Configurations => Ming 11-13.
Moss is extremely lightweight and should work on ALL Android versions.
When I installed it from f-droids installer, it showed incompatibel with my device and/or operating system, but it's only the cpu function that doesn't work properly.
It's still beta and the "overrides" function is not implemented yet; in my experience, it might stop unexpectedly during setting it up, but once it's running it's stable.
Tested with: Cyanogenmod 7.2 and CM9.3 ICS-PLUS.

the 2nd and 3rd configs are designed to leave some space for widgets, assuming you have 4 rows and 5 columns.
the cyanogenmod logo is not my creation. CM's Cid logo comes with this license - i assume that the logo i use comes with the same. the same license applies to my part of the work.
minor changes.
updated link/screenshot in post #1.
- there will be more changes to this; i'm still exploring the possibilities & limitations of moss.

it's always great to see people trying to do something right from the first post :good:
however, i'm curious about 2 things:
1. ram consumption (as any other LW, no matter how simplistic it was killing my mini with huge amounts of memory)?
2. is it showing all sysstats all the time? is there some relatively simple way to hide some of them
[maybe the second one sounds dumb, but i'm not the greatest - and surely not the only noob 'round here]
keep up the good work!
thanks for the thumbs-up!

1. assuming that this is based on or off conky.sourceforge.net, it should be very lightweight. anyhow it runs smoothly on my low-spec galaxy mini.
2. some stats are not shown. it seems cpu stats are simply not working on my device or with this software. others, i felt are not so important, but have a look here: teneighty.github.io/moss/objects.html as to what is available. what i did is not much more than a zipped config file.
i am still working on it and will include different configs with different sorts of stats.
unfortunately the screen is so small that one tends to have widgets on top of the moss output... i think i will also include one config that has only a clock and maybe one or 2 bars, almost no writing.

thnx for your replies; i'll keep my fingers crossed
basically, i use almost no widgets on my screen just because i find that space precious (as well as ram)
i'm having operating system stability issues right now, i have to solve these first.
i don't know if it's some app or the system itself (CM7.2 nightly) or some settings (performance tweaks cpu overclocking?)
any suggestions as to what is the most stable operating system for this phone, or any good links faq/howto's?
well, to answer myself: i changed to this rom now, it seems very stable.
also it seems that my mini does not like overclocking - system freezes. i'm keeping it just a little over 600MHz right now.
i have updated the scripts, added 2 more.
there's now an easily accessible folder with resources which should make it easier to change backgrounds and fonts.
i still recommend to have alook at the actual config files, the syntax is not so hard once you learn to ignore all those "${}".
btw, Moss is listed as not compatible with my OS/device, but really it is. only cpu stats don't work properly.
to answer crullicks earlier question: moss takes about 5% memory, just a little less than the trebuchet launcher.
updated.
see post #1.

Look at the tags. Im working on adding dt2w and the smartass gov. cpuboost (better power to performance managment) wheatly and intelleactive are already working. me and rbheromax are trying to get this all sorted out. His current builds have broken wifi. Mine had wifi at first and i didnt modify any wifi drivers so it SHOULD in theory work.
All in all at the end of the day (not today) the kernel will end up featuring dt2w, 3 new govs, overclock, maybe voltage control, and support lots and lots of file systems. Oh cant forget write protect is removed lol.

Faux sound support?
Hmmm feature request...well fauxsound, row scheduler(others), I think this kernel can be throttled up to 1.5 or 1.8 ghz per core, but for battery saving, 1.5, maybe seeing if you can update some of the drivers(personally when I hit them c++ books(c) I would modify), screen configurations if possible like faux, but I do not think HTC allows developers to mess with the display driver, and possibly extfat4 partitioning.

As for the kernel level cpu oc at the moment its not possible. Every attempt has resulted in a non booting kernel. For now my development will be slow until i can get my hands on a laptop. Sorry guys. Ill update my kernel and rom in unison from here on out (usually) but its gonna be a while. Sorry again everyone. Thanks for the suggestions though I will get to do some tinkering this saturday and next saturday. Ill report back then.

Will this work for Boost Mobile?
Flashing this kernel gets rid of all Roaming related options from the phone, before I used to see the option to enable roaming, plus enable/disable roaming guards and enable roaming for domestic and internationally, all that is gone after flashing this kernel. Since I have a roaming agreement with Sprint and I travel alot, I can't do without the ability to roam, therefore I restored my /boot nandroid backup and that brought back all roaming related options.
Question: Why did the OP remove roaming from this kernel? Many people NEED this, Or is there something that I was supposed to do in order to bring it back?

Can anyone test if this update adds adjustable auto brightness like on the international models? On the international and other carrier models, you can adjust the brightness slider when auto brightness is enabled to change the auto brightness bias, but last I checked, trying to change the brightness slider while auto brightness is enabled on the AT&T model just disables auto brightness.
An update for the ATT S6 was released today with the following enhancements:
Battery performance enhancement
HD Voice enhancement
Screen enhancements
AT&T Message enhancement
Screen rotation enhancement
Power key press time from .5 sec to 1.5 sec.
Other various performance enhancements

I'm Google translating a Korean article talking briefly about the update and it seems that the X600 (Korean variant of the Q6) will get the described extras.
So... 3D stereo sound + flash LED that will actually be useful for something (it should blink when the phone rings and pulse to the tempo while playing music).
Let's play the waiting game now and see if the M700TV will get it.

Congrats! Thanks for sharing the info with us all about the new thangs that come with the Oreo update. My thought is that the 3D LED lighting thang won't come for the EU and US models. But we'll see, let's just play the waiting game until it comes out...it should some time soon...
