I'm having a problem with WidgetLocker lock screen on mt rooted GT-I9070, cuz it takes time to start automatically after the boot and till then there's no lock on the screen. I was wondering if there is a way for making the app run in background while android boots by adding scripts or any other means. Tried making it a system app... it started up a bit faster but not enough... Please let me know if there's a solution.

Did not try to search auto start on Play store?
Try something like this: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.autostart
I am not sure if it will work, but you can try...
Thanks
The app is already set to "Appear on boot" and it does start when the android boots, but almost after 2 minutes. That's quite slow since its the lockscreen. I want it to be visible when android starts, just like the stock android lockscreen appears when the device boots. For that i was wondering if it could be made to start at the same time when android boots so it'd be available instantly after boot. Just want to make the app load much faster after boot.
well, when you use tasker, that won't help as tasker itself needs to start, and that takes time
for me widgetlocker starts up right after booting, but i always wait a minute or 2 to let android boot before doing anything

I do lots of stuff with my rooted S4A. Wanam Xposed, Pie Controls, frozen ATT bloat and Avast Firewall to name a few things. It even text messages and makes phone calls!
New update=yawn. 4.3 isn't a big deal (unless you want a Gear).

It depends on what you're trying to accomplish. I personally have root so I can fully utilize Titanium Backup to backup my entire phone, block ads, use Folder Mount to force files to be saved to my external SD card, install Cerberus as a system app to utilize more of its features, and install Xposed Framework and Xposed Modules to endlessly customize my phone and add additional functionality to it. It's up to you whether or not you think rooting is worth it. With that said you can always update to the official AT&T 4.3 firmware using the Odin files found in this thread.
Good points for your purposes granted. But I loved to change roms on my gs2 until I found cm, then I stuck with that one as my fav. I'm just frustrated that it is not that easy or even possible anymore, at least with this phone that I like and plan on keeping for a while.

Hey Devo, you run xposed framework on the stock rom with no issues? I had some problems with it on my sgh-i537 and some of the modules wouldn't work at all. If I tried to install the hypderive device tools(shutdown) menu, when I use the shutdown button my phone locks up and just shuts off, no menu ever appears. I really like alot of the hyperdrive functions, I'd love to be able to add the hyperdrive tweaks too, but never had any luck there either.
As concern me I will sell my s4 active No Roms No updates :'(

Yeah, I run Xposed on my stock ROM. The only issue I ever had was a few days ago when I updated XPrivacy and the phone refused to boot. I had to flash the Xposed disabler with SafeStrap. I run the GPE ROM in slot 1 so I can't speak to the way Hyperdrive works. Sorry I can't be more helpful.

Ok, I see. so whatever is in your slots can affect your stock rom as well? I also ran GPE in another slot for a while and I liked it, but with the aroma installer and the hyperdrive tweaks, it really is something I'd like to stick with. I wish I understood more about what is shared and what isn't between roms in slots and the deal with the locked bootloader. We're a long way from Windows Toto, lol. Then again, I do networking, not programming so much.
So, do you run the advanced power menu module on your stock ROM? I really like the HyperDrive version, I think it's called HyperDrive Device Menu or something.
I want to say I installed wanam and xposed from apk files, no flashing. Maybe I need to start there. Thanks again.

I don't think that the Rom slots impact each other unless you are running low on space.
I don't have am advanced power menu and I'm not sure what the Hyperdrive one looks like. That said Wanam had a couple of options that extend the power menu that are worth a try.
Everything I've installed has been by directly installing an apk. Except for dark dialer, dark contacts, and call recording.

thanks for the info man. I will try the wanam menu and see, think I tried it once, but still had the issue with the button locking up. One thing for sure, installing these other ROM's gives me plenty of ideas of how to change my stock ROM! BTW, I love D.C. saw the FW's at the National Harbor last year, good time. You need to open up the zip file and look inside the folders to see what files are flashed and where they ate flashed. This will tell you what files were changed our added then you can manually remove them. I would also ask the creator to post a zip that removes the necessary files to return to stock. It should be easy enough.

Quite a few apps don't work without root access. Plus it is necessary to be able to use tethering without a separate plan. Battery doctor, quickboot, app quarantine, and titanium backup are just a few on mine.
Hey guys, when I go to install an apk file, the "install" button cannot be pressed, but the "cancel" button can. I have used this method several times in the past and it has worked. I recently upgraded to Sense 6 on AT&T. My phone is completely stock (no rooting or unlocking). And yes my unknown sources button is checked. Hope this is a quick fix :/ I read somewhere else that "JuiceDefender" was causing that issue a while back but I use AVG and CM antivirus. So what could be the issue?
Thanks in advance!

I think you do. I tried it once in cwm and it failed, it could also have been a different issue but it works fine with the boot.img of the zip. Just keep in mind to store the zip on the internal storage before you flash the kernel and after wiping it.and that the recovery menu is very dim, you should avoid bright conditions.
Video or pictures
I would like to see how the cyanogenmod works on the Z3 Compact. Could you send me a video or some pictures?
Thanks!

My Bluetooth headset was acting up when i had the built in equalizer (AudioFx) turned on , try to turn it off and see if it helps.
I also installed viper4android instead which is way better.

Camera button
Anyone figure out how to remap the camera button yet?
So i'm kind of a noob here I guess but I thought to install this one would need to have their device rooted (like I had) and I have it on my device working perfectly, the only problem is the phone is telling me that it is not rooted and thus not letting me use titanium backup and greenify etc.
Is it just me, or is the Auto Updater not rebooting to recovery after downloading the cm-12-20150214-NIGHTLY-z3c -
I did extract and ABD'flashed the boot.img
And theres still an issue with the LED brightness and audio engine wakeup ( Sound seems dim at first, and sometimes notification audio is skipped, almost like it is in hibernation and cant always get out of it ) , cant seem to find it in the fixlog or changelog either
I just got cm12 setup on my galaxy tab 8.4, the only issue i notice thus far is that im finding it impossible to set a different wallpaper on my lockscreen from my gallery pics... If i want to use one of my personal backgrounds i have to use the same as my homescreen. The only way to change just the lockscreen background is to pick one from a theme i downloaded but that option sucks because i never use theme backgrounds... Anyone have a workaround or is that something well have to wait on in another nightly? I was able to do this easily in cm11, just had to go to lockscreen in settings and themes and i could pick it there

Go to Settings, Developer Options, then a few settings from the top you will see "Root access", click it and choose "Apps and ADB" or just "Apps only" (if you don't use ADB).
After root access is enabled you can install SuperSU from the Play Store (or just use the CM root access if you don't want SuperSU).....
Thanks that worked perfectly!
Another problem though (or else me just being silly and overlooking something simple) that when I boot to recovery it brings up the Cyanogenmod Recovery and there is no option to Backup my files. The only options I have are to wipe everything or reboot.

When you flash boot.img from the nightly .zip file you get the CM Recovery. You are correct in that there is no backup option. Use Titanium or some other app to back up your stuff. You can also use a different recovery but you may run into a different problem where the phone identifies itself as "aries" and won't flash the ROM. The CM Recovery takes care of that problem.
Anyone found a fix to the dim notification led issue? I think its related to the CM recovery. Anyone that can confirm this issue aswell?
I have a tab pro 8.4 running cm12 latest nightlies and i cant get adblock plus to work on it. Ive tried everything. A couple of issues I've run into is sometimes bluetooth audio gets sped-up so my music sounds like it is playing a 2x speed (Google play music) and I'm unable to activate any accessibility services (I can get into the cancel or ok screen but can't click ok). Anybody else have these or know a workaround?
I've got european 64bit HTC Desire with the ROM from T-Mobile.
Already rooted, elaborately customized - seemed with this I can easily wait for some dev's 64bit ROM from xda-developers wich I'd eagerly install in my device.
Hower the problem occured: the COMPULSORY OTA UPDATE!
The persistent item in the task bar (often popping up on the main screen) is shouting:
"System update available
Tap to download the system update"
Indeed compulsory, the nagging reminder is hard to ignore and impossible to switch off!
I feel happy with the version I have and there seems no need to update - the more, automatic update obliterate all my complicated customizations made with some effort.
How to get rid of this reminder?

There really is no reason to do that because the roms are not built with the latest updates so if you update you're wasting your time because when you flash a rom you're going to be on whatever version that rom was built on.

With 3C Toolbox Pro I've frozen the system app called "Updater" and it has helped!
Also frozen some other "factory" nagging apps.
HOWEVER - in the notification bar there is another pesky notification: "there is dangerous application installed in your phone: C Toolbox Pro, which can make serious damage to your phone - uninstal it or keep it on your own responsibility" (actual text may differ from this fuzzy quote from my memory).
Indeed, "C Toolbox Pro" I've installed and added it to Xposed as it's module.
What do you think, is "C Toolbox Pro" going to harm a phone?

You should try FOTAKILL.APK
There are downloads for it on this forum and instructions - it is designed for this job alone
Otherwise give me your email by personal message as i haven't posted enough to post a googledrive link ... ill send you a zip with Fotakill in

Reboot to install
Hope this helps
The update may now flash the wheel in notification bar but it will just go away fast and you will see no window flashing up on main screen interrupting your use.

Hi guys..
I have recently rooted (supersu) my j7 prime g610f (7.0) after installing dm-veriry pypass and twrp and then flashed xpoosed framework and tried aome moudles out and everything seemed to be fine .
Untill i rebooted to activate a moudle and i found that the lock screen doesnt want to unlock although the pin is right( just stands still for 2 seconds and then screen turns off and i repeated the process and same thing ) ..
I managed to unlock my phone through the website and tried other lock methods and i found that every method isn't responding aswell !
I then disabled all the models and denies all root access apps and rebooted and same thing happens.
I really need some help as i cant leave my phone unlocked.

1) Easiest way is to wipe and restore a backup in TWRP from when your device was working properly if you've hopefully already made one.
2) Another option is to boot into TWRP and go into file manager and delete the folders of the Xposed Modules you installed that you think might be causing the problem(in "/data/app/", "/data/data/, etc)". Then reboot and see if that fixed the problem. You have to be very careful when installing Xposed mods, especially when they're meant to tweak the system in some way, that they are actually meant for your device, particularly with Samsung Touchwiz devices that have heavily modded software.
3) Make sure that you're using the correct Xposed version for Samsung too, as this can cause problems with properly booting up the device.
4) Last case scenario you might want to consider wiping and reflashing your rom. Then at least you can make sure your touchscreen digitizer still works and can redo everything one at a time to see what's causing the problem.
I hope one of these suggestions helps.

Truthfully, your best bet while you have your device up and running is to backup all your apps and data with something like Titanium Backup or even sync them with the Samsung Cloud. The cloud reinstalls everything and sets your device configuration back to the way it was. Then, if you have a custom rom installed, wipe it in TWRP and reinstall it. If you're running stock, then don't wipe. Just go to the Sammobile website, download the latest firmware for your specific device and reflash it to the device with Odin. This generally fixes all system problems with a device, while preserving your app data.
Alternately, you can also try searching XDA for kernels that are made for your device that have a higher performance and try installing one of those to see if anything improves. As far as the screen going off early too, you can always check in "Settings/Display/Screen Timeout" to see what it's set for and change it to the max screen on time. It really sounds like you may have broke something system wise with Xposed or an Xposed module though, which is very easy to do, so I would really recommend starting over fresh. If you're on stock especially, as you really have nothing(data wise) to lose.
