Lcd screen broken - Galaxy S III I9305 (4G LTE + 2GB RAM) Q&A, Help &

Hello everybody not sure where to post this but. ...
I tried replacing my girlfriends s3 cracked glass and somehow when I put the glass on and turned it on the lcd screen isn't turning on and I'm afraid I messed it up. It powers up but is just black only way I know that the phone is on is the led light and start up sounds.
I priced put lcd + digitizer online. But my question is .. is there a way I can plug the phone into the pc and navigate thru the files on the phone as if it were the phone itself on the pc like some sort of emulator. I know there r emulators put there but mostly advertised to play android games what I want exactly is to operate her phone. . Sim card attached and use the pc monitor as the phone screen basically.

The Lcd is a very simple device, it's either working or not much like a pc monitor. If you properly reconnected it to the mobo it should display an image regardless of whether the digitizer is working or even on the phone. Take the back cover off and recheck the connection. You can also check the connection with a magnifying glass to see if you bent a pin. If you still don't have a visible screen then most likely you damage the lcd when removing the digitizer strap.
tnx

[Q] [HELP] Black Screen but Functional Device. Galaxy Note N7000

Hello Everyone!
So i'm really stuck over here. I have an international Samsung Galaxy Note N-7000 that is working but with a black screen!
First of all i want to discuss exactly what i have done:
1.i had a problem with the charging port where it works sometimes and most of the times doesn't. So i decided to order a new charging port to replace the existing one.
2. When i received the new charging port i instantly started to dissemble the device (The device was working perfectly before starting replacement)
3. After i removed the old one and installed the new, i turned on the device and it showed only a black screen, then after some time i saw the touch buttons light, but still the screen is black:crying:
4. so i decided to return back the old charging port and this time when i turned on the device it sounded like it's booting and working but still with a black screen. The phone even received call and the touch screen is working but with black screen.
What do you guys think has just happened to my phone? could the new charging port cause any problems with the motherboard?
i'm really stuck and don't wanna go to a service center
I have recorded a video of the problem. Please see it below
since i'm new over here, i'm not allowed to post youtube link.
please head to youtube and type my username and watch the video : nadeaa0a
thank you very much
My younger brother always liked to disassemble things with a hammer wondering after why it wasn't possible to assemble it the other way around.
It took him a few years to understand that real knowledge of things is a clear advantage.
Go to a service center and get help from a professional instead of making it ...

maybe you disconnected the wire you were changing ports ! don't worry and don't freak out just take to any shop and they will check it i don't think the screen is burnt because if it was it would be more expensive ! go to any shop and ask them to change ports and check the screen
for what you described, my best guess would be either you unplugged the lcd and didnt plug it back in properly.... or you damaged the flex for the lcd... the charging flex wouldnt cause the problem... just inspect the lcd flex and plug for damage... if no visible damage plug it in again and try it again... lets hope its just not plugged in right...
I have the same problem
Hi,
I have the same problem. I had never disassembled my phone and the screen slowly turned purple and started blackening out. It was fully functional. This I knew because I connected it to my Windows 7 computer and used Android Commander. I ordered a new screen complete with bezel etc. I have two batteries, the first didn't even charge after I put it in the phone (it had drained totally during the wait for the new screen), the second was partially charged and allowed the screen to boot. It is however behaving like the first screen did before it went black, that is purple. I am sure I have not done anything wrong with the connections. Could it be the batteries? or the adapter flex? I just hope it is not the mainboard. It is not on warranty and we don't have that many honest phone specialists around where I live. I am almost sure others have experienced the same problem and someone on xda knows what the problem is. If you do I would be indebted.

it shows as color black, or nothing (like locked device)? I used to face this problem too with my infuse 4G, but it was because of installing custom rom. Had problem with few rom i installed but nothing happen on my stock one. If your device is just not lighting up(like locked device), then i guess because of ROM, but i'm not sure yet. But if it shows "color black", then i don't know.
THIS IS NOT A SOFTWARE BUG. Its the Screen flex or the ribbon. Disassemble the back part, and take a look at the flex or the ribbon connector of the screen, clean the conector with a tooth cleaner with alcohol and let it dry for a few minutes. Put it back on and mount the back part again. Test it, it should work.
Same thing here: changed the usb port, booted fine, had issues with the sim, turned off took it apart again to check, put it back on and black screen.
Yea having the same issue here, dismantling the usb module and put in new one, power up black screen!! The menu and back button did lights up, and the phone is working too, can hear the booting tone, anyone got any solution for that yet?

I have unplugged and replug back few times, same result. Guess most probably i have damaged the flex cable. Replacement part seems too pricy to change, rather buy a new phone.

Replaced screen, still black

Hi
A month ago my screen suddenly went completely dead, the phone it self was functioning normally except the screen, \
so i posted this thread : http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-z/help/how-to-make-screen-dead-t3175115
then i decided to tear down the phone, i did and i played abit with the lcd flex cable, i got the screen to work but with very low brightness and a lot of blinking, i played a bit more with the same cable
and tried powering up the phone, the screen gone completely black again so i thought i broke the cable
i ended up buying this
www.aliexpress.com/item/LCD-touch-s...ria-Z-L36h-C6603-LT36-display/1449119790.html
it arrived and i played a youtube video of the device dis-assembly and copied every step exactly, tried powering the phone up and the new screen is black!
anyone have an idea what's going on?

Maybe something not connected, or because it's aftermarket screen. There are lots of screens for sale but I don't believe they all work as good as the OEM screen.

Did you ask the seller to exchange the item? There is always a 10% chance of a black screen when buying a replacement screen.
If you tested the screen by just connecting it to the motherboard, and it didnt work, you should be able to get a replacement for free(but you will probably have to pay for the shipping when sending the broken one back)
By the way. I need to get a new screen replacement(the current one started flickering and glitching after 5 days of usage-I literally held the phone on the desk, answering calls and putting it back on the desk,so I couldnĀ“t have damaged it),but I cant waste money. Was the package in a good state?
If anyone can recommend a cheap, but working screen(I dont care much about the 10% weaker colors,I just dont want the screen to flicker and glitch out),I would be extremely grateful.

Sliced ribbon cable connecting LCD to motherboard

The camera on my s5 active broke. I bought a replacement on eBay and watched several YouTube videos on how to replace. Unfortunately while removing the screen and sliding a guitar pick underneath the LCD I cut through a small part of the ribbon cable. The video said to start at the top of the phone which I think is a mistake. Anyway, I'm not going to bother replacing the screen as it's not cost effective and I already bought a Nexus 6p to replace it. But I would like to get some things off the phone that I had. Obviously my Google data was backed up just fine but I'd like to get some non Google filess from the phone.
The phone still works and turns on but the display is black. Is there a way I can plug the phone in to a computer and see what's on the screen of my phone. Maybe mirror what is supposed to be on the screen onto the computer?
If it is just files you had saved, you should be able to get them just through file explorer if your phone isn't on the lock screen. If you have a phone repair place nearby, it might be worth asking if repairing the cable is an option. Worst they'll say is no.

[SM-A310F] Recover files with a broken screen, debug off & OEM Lock

Hi everybody, I need all of your brains, because my brain stuck at this point.
Yesterday I got a phone (Samsung Galaxy A3 or model SM-A310F) from my neighbor with an damaged display. He told me the phone fell into water, but run after drying normal (I saw a video, isn't the phone water proof?) but then it fell to the ground and since the phone doesn't recognize any touch. I checked it and told him that I need to take a look inside because the glas is in a perfect state, I could see anything on it but, as I said, no functional touch. Hard-Keys are working fine.
The first thing what I does, was to restart the phone with "Vol- and Power". I thought the phone were now bricked, because the boot-up seems to be endless. After I let the phone work for approximately 5-10 minutes, the Samsung logo comes up and Android was there but again, with no touch.
So, as I said, I opened the phone, took a look inside and was very confused, because two wires were broken and some electrical parts near the display plug and the plug itself had a white covering, I think from the water damage before. Anyway, the phone is running but after I opened it, the screen got black and never come back. I cleaned up the parts and the plug and tried again, now when I press home or power, the screen is flickering on the left for a short time and is then black again.
At this point I said him that the phone is broken, because it is not clearly if the screen is broken and/or the mainboard, too (because of the white covering).
My neighbor asked me to recover the files and the contacts. I told him it is hard, but not impossible. My plan was to install a recovery, boot into and to adb pull all the files to my computer.
But: USB Debugging is DISABLED and the oem lock is on, too, so I failed trying to install twrp with odin. I just get a fail.
New for me: you can control your phone with your computer mouse and keyboard, so I thought, I can just accept the MTP request and simply drag and drop the files... but nope, the request just pops up, when I connect the phone to the computer. So I can't use my keyboard AND the connection to my pc...
Adb doesn't recognize the phone, because of the disabled usb debug (and even if I can figure it, I need to accept the debug dialog while connecting).
So, this is your part, anybody, any Idea to install something or just to recover the files?
My ideas:
Mirroring APK (to mirror the screen to my PC, explored that with MyPhoneExplorer)
Custom Recovery for stock recovery flashing (flashable zip)
Downgrading (but will definitly stuck in a bootloop, because I can't delete the data)
...
What do you suggest?
Buying a new screen isn't an option. I don't know anybody who can "borrow" me his screen.
I'm really a android geek, not someone as you are, but more than "normal users", so if it difficult, it is not a problem.
I also accept some tips with the screen part. I attached the picture, which I tooked for him. There you can see the white covering AFTER cleaning (it is almost there at some spots... I don't want to break more).
Thank you alot!
Kisses from germany =)
Sorry! I posted it in the wrong sub =( Can anyone please move it?
Ah I would like to update this thread:
I bought a new display, had some problems anyway but now I got a new phone =)
