[Q] Samsung sound issues - AT&T Galaxy Note 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Whenever I'm in the gym on the treadmill, cross trainer or bike and have my music on, earphones attached, the sound disappears. It reduces to zero and as much as i try to increase the volume it just slips back to zero.

Are you using "adapt sound"? Try disabling it.

I haven't been able to find anything that makes a real difference.Boost Volume does make a change (if you turn all the equalizer bars all the way up), but not enough for me to easily understand Maps driving instructions in the car.
If you find anything other than an external amp that works, please share.

[Q] Volume Bug on Note!!!

Hi,
I've had my note for 2 weeks now, but I've come across a slight issue.
When listening to music using PowerAmp + MW600 bluetooth headset, if I use SWYPE to write a text, there are sporadic moments of increased volume for the duration of the swipe. The increase is maybe about two notches on the volume up, but then back to normal after I take my finger off the screen.
It doesn't happen all the time, but it comes and goes in a very random fashion.
Has anyone else experienced this? If so, is there any remedy?
Thanks.
Did you try a different music player while texting?
On the other hand have you tried an alternative sms app?
It doesn't happen often enough for me to think about changing the apps I use, however it happens often enough for me to think that there must be more people with same issue!
The thing is, I can't replicate it at will. It happens when it feels like it.
Its more likely to be the SWYPE keyboard more than anything, as its when swyping that the volume goes up.....
with power amp, do you have direct volume control enabled?

try disabling it and see if it happens again. then you'll know if it makes a difference or not.

I like your scientific approach to this... keeping all other variables the same, but changing the dependant variable. Sounds like a scientific investigation. Just like at school However, its not very rational.
I've managed to narrow it down to the issue happens if PowerAmp is in the equaliser settings screen, and then I receive the message, as I tap the buttons, there's a slight increase in volume......
I take no one knows the reason so I'll just have to put up with it. Thanks!

In-Call volume very low

Hey everyone,
I have the problem that the call-volume is very low. I've already tried different settings, but there is not really any help.
Does anyone have the same issues? When I'm in a silent ambient, it is okay, but e.g. in the train it is really hard for me to understand the other person.
And no - my ears are not THAT bad
Haven't really noticed an issue with mine, although not usually calling from anywhere that is too noisy.
yes i have that prob.setting the qualiser to bright and disabling speaker voice enhancement improves it a little. but still the call volume is low.
Yes i also feel its bit low... but not very low!
For me it's good enough!
When I have a call in quiet place or a noisy place like in the city or a cafe or something, I understand everything good
i have that problem tooooo.in fact i fight with my gf every time cuz i cant hear what she say ,any advice to fix this problem?can i change some setting and fix this?
It's not that bad! Try using the earphones
Sent from my Nexus 7 using XDA Premium HD app
:silly: using an earphone is not a solution.. can someone tell if this issue can be resolved using some mod/software?

Did this solution work for anyone? I am not seeing much difference, please help me if there is any third party application which can be used to boost the volume.
I've wanted to find out if there's a way for some time!
I connect to my car via aux cable for hands free.
But when I get a call I have to increase volume 7 or 8 steps for me to hear.
And then when the call finishes, I get deafened from when the radio kicks back in!

bluetooth to the car

When I connect Z1 to car via Bluetooth it drops the media volume to 50% so I have to turn the car volume way up to hear it, should it change back to CD for any reason I am nearly blown into the back seat
Obviously I can faff about and go into settings on my phone and turn it up but is there a way of stopping this?

You mean even if you crank it up (on the phone) when it's connected, it drops after?
If it does, you can try setting up something in "Smart Connect", set the volume to "high" when you connect.

I can have media volume set to max on the phone but as soon as it connects it drops to 50% I then have to go back into settings and turn it up. It'll play fine for that journey. Next day exact same issue.
Check out the "Smart Connect" app, you'll be able to set volume to the max when you connect to your car's bluetooth.

I was just about to nip off to the app store when I thought I remembered seeing that one on my phone
Having a bit of an issue with it though. It has the car already set up, but seems to automatically select the Sony Walkman player and I use Poweramp.
Do I delete any connections in there and make a new one? Dabbled with that but can't see a volume option. Sorry to be thick but how do you actually set it up?
Thanks for all the help so far.

Yes, you can delete the event or edit it to put PowerAmp instead!

[Q] Bluetooth Volume

My apologies in advance for what's probably a stupid question...
How do I adjust the Bluetooth volume? Bluetooth audio in my car with my old phone was fine. With my N4, the volume is very, very low.
When the Bluetooth device is connected, it is just the normal volume keys that adjust the Bluetooth volume.

Hmmm, I thought I tried that with Pandora and it just did the music volume. I'll have to try again.
Is there a way to adjust it outside of the Bluetooth connection? Like with Tasker?

Can you elaborate a little on this?
The Bluetooth volume is the same as the Media slider in the volume controls.
Goto Settings then scroll down until you find Sound. Click on it then click on Volume. Then you will see 4 volume sliders. Adjust the Media slider to whatever volume you want. When streaming music over bluetooth, when you hit the volume up or down, you will see the slider popup with the little Bluetooth symbol.
If Pandora is adjusting an in app volume, try getting out of the app while the music is playing and then try it. I don't use Pandora so I am not sure off hand.
Pandora works like any app. No difference.
Your best bet is to use a sound mod that's been done already.
BAD ASS NOTE 4

Notification sound too low (mono versus stereo)

Just got the Note9 after have the 8. Nasty surprise when I found out it is almost impossible to hear notification sounds on this phone due to streaming through only the bttome speaker while all other audio is through both. Samsung states its a "limitation of the device".... So that.
Anyone know of an app or other method that would allow me to set the notificatio sounds to stream as rigntone or media to get them in stereo? I tried Lightflow and setting the sound through there as a full ring tone, but it still streams the audio as a notification through the bottom speaker only.
Bump
It's lower than the note 8 I think.
Sent from my SM-N960U1 using Tapatalk
It's definitely lower than the Note 8. Not sure why only the notifications play through one speaker and all others are through both. An app or work around would be incredible.
Hey guys, having the same issue here. I am using an app called Volume Booster Goodev. No root needed. Just set the volume to go up by 10% and you should be fine. I know I am, cause I missed my notifs before... Good Luck!

I noticed the low volume when playing podcasts. I downloaded the app you recommended, and now I'm happy! With the 10% increase there is no distortion, only loud clean sound. Thanks

Try rebooting your phone.
Happy to help! The only thing they recommend is not to go over 40% increase. But 10% is enough anyway

Not as straight forward, but if you have used it, Tasker will play the sound through as stereo once set up. Works really well :good:
You re welcome, glad I could help
Hi. Does it also rise the in call volume?
I don't feel like it helps...my calls sound is low
But still it is not activating the upper speaker.
I see this post is quite old. But, wanted to report Volume Booster GOODEV solved *my* problem as well. Thank you *so much* for posting this solution! btw, had to use a tor browser to post this reply (XDA's server won't allow me to register a user *and* post from the same IP in a short period of time??) lol
