i tried to flash a rom and somehow i lost recovery. can someone help me or point me in the right direction?
How did you flash recovery when you unlocked your bootloader?
Boot into bootloader and fastboot. Then open up command prompt and type fastboot flash recovery recovery name.img

Hi, i flash rom and now i get brick. I also cant get to recovery. When i get to bootloader --> choose recovery, it get me to recovery, but after 1s, the device reboot.
Someone please help me, thanks
You need to download the all in kit for htc one
Then you can flash another recovery, from there you flash your rom like you normally would.
Wich rom you trying to flash?

I use toolkit, and flash another recovery but no luck. Still 1s after going to recovery, phone reboot. I am trying to flash ARHD ROM
flashing a new recovery should work, you coudl try to do it manually via FastBoot.
You will need recovery, did it give you any errors with the toolkit?

Use the toolkit to erase cache.
Or command 'fastboot erase cache' in fastboot menu.

Is there any way to restore a nandroid backup through fastboot or adb? i.e. without installing CWM
You can boot to cwm without installing it. But I can't remember the steps offhand
Interesting, bro! One of my fri also need to flash a zip without root or cwm recovery. In fact these 2 things r the reason for requiring the mentioned method in this post. He is using galaxy r n stuck in android 4.0.4.
Bump, anyone?
I tried to boot twrp through adb and it just reboot the phone..you just need to make a stock nandroid and download recovery.img for your version

With an unlocked bootloader you can in fastboot mode issue :
fastboot boot name_of_recovery.img
Without flashing it. Works nicely.

Can't get my stock unlocked one to boot into CWM recovery. Wanting a stock nandroid before doing S-off.
adb reboot bootloader
fastboot boot recovery.img
Just hangs at downloading.
Is this a limitation of the 1.54 hboot or something else?

"fastboot boot recovery.img" no longer works in 1.54. You're going to have to flash CWM (fastboot flash recovery recovery.img) to be able to get to CWM. and of course you'll loose stock recovery, so the nandroid will contain the CWM recovery.
How can I extract the stock recovery before flashing CWM?
Or where can I find stock recovery for 2.24.161.1?

Several people were looking for stock recovery for that version, don't know if anybody found it, but there is a Guru Reset for 2.24.161.1, which supposedly includes the stock recovery: http://www.htc1guru.com/dld/guru_reset_m7_2-24-161-1-zip/
Downloaded that. Not sure that is stock recovery. Says there is an option to restore stock recovery when available.
I found this....
http://www.android-hilfe.de/root-cu...k-recovery-2-24-161-1-vodafone-gesucht-2.html
Image size is different to one in ruu
Any way to verify?

I don't know how to decompile .img files, so can't verify.
One thing you can do (if the above don't work), is once you are S-Off, (temporarily) downgrade to this nandroid: http://www.htc1guru.com/dld/m7-cwm-nandroid-backup-cid-vodap102-1-29-161-7-7z/
then download the OTA to 2.24.161.1, do not install, just extract recovery.img from the OTA file.
