I dont know where to put this question so bare with me.
i just flashed my i9001 from 2.3.6 to [GT-I9001][ROM][ION][KK][4.4.2][KOT49H] CyanogenMod 11.0 by ADC-Team - Release 2 (ION) - Kernel 3.4.x
flashing looked normal. no problems. but now wifi drops out. especially when i open whatsapp. on instagram, facebook it works normal, no drop out. only with whatsapp.
any fixes?
only thing i would say is try re installing wipe data/factory reset, wipe cache, wipe dalvik cache, and maybe even format /system then re flash then rom and see if that helps :good:
Wipe cach and data

Dear all,
I start using SpeedMod since version K12K.
There is no problem when I update the kernel from K12K to K12L, K12M, K12P, until from K12P to K12Q and so on.
After flashing with Odin and reboot, the phone becomes very slow, both in operation and the touch screen response.
I have tried updating from K12P to K12Q, K12R and K12S, they have the same symptom and slow. When I flash back to K12L or K12P, it becomes normal.
Any advises please?
Thanks in advance.
My phone info:
ROM: Stock 2.2 FROYO.ZSJPE
Maybe you should wipe the dalvik cache and cache. Go to recovery mode - clockworkmod options - wipe dalvik cache. do the same with cache partition.
Then reboot. That first reboot will take longer than usual because the dalvik cache has to be rebuild again. After that everything should be fine.
Thanks for your reply.
I have tried wiping the cache, then the dalvik cache, but it seems remain the same --- slow and lag. I would like to know if there is any sequence, let's say wipe the cache first, then wipe the dalvik cache, then flash the phone? or something else?
After wiping the cache, in general speaking, how long do I have to wait after the reboot?
Thanks in advance.

What i mean is that the first reboot after wiping the dalvik cache takes longer than usual because the dalvik cache has to be rebuild again.
You might check in the task manager if there's any running process cunsuming cpu time, which could lead to laginess. There are many things that could produce lags (widgets, apps etc.) I dont know what's installed on your phone.

I see. However, I am thinking if the lag is because of the apps. Since I am using the same apps before and after the kernel update. I did wipe the dalvik cache after flash, but after reboot, the phone response very slow, and whenever I click the home button, it just did not show up.
Any more ideas? Thanks a lot.

What i would do in your case would be:
Backup all important data/apps etc.
Then do a complete wipe and reset to factory defaults.
Then flash the latest firmware: froyo 2.2.1
Then flash speedmod kernel and apply all recommended tweaks.
After that restore app by app and rethink the real use of each app (do you really need/use it?).
Might sound complicated but it might be even easier than loosing more time on hopeless attempts to solve the problem...

Cheers man, this will be my last step. Thank you for your help.

NP Tell us if you succeeded. You might want to try wiping thumbnail database before (forgot to mention that beforehands).

Just done a factory reset (erase data + data cache + dalvik cache)
and flash the new version of kernel. The phone is back to normal now.

Hey Guys,
is it only me or am i wrong experiencing JVP roms als extremly unstable.
If you chose LiveWallpapers i experienced freezes ... even when i turned them off the freezes didnt leave. (i tried this with no apps installed)
When surfing the web i experienced freezes.
I tried nearly every custom JVP rom and the stock. for me it freezes all the time ... i flashed back to JVO ... everything was normal.
I flashed the JVP roms once on a fresh Odin (repartition) JVH base ... then i tried with a fresh JVP base. Always chosen the wipe rom versions.
Is JVP that unstable? Or what could be the reason.
Thx for anwers in advance. Will hit the thx button for usefull answers
cheers!

It is better to wipe everything before flashing so that you ccan start with a clean and fast system.
So you should wipe:
- data (factory reset)
- cache
- dalvik cache

No Problems at all with F1 SGS V3.0 ROM.
Very Stable, Fast and Awesome....
Strange ... i wiped everything before flashing including dalvik, cache, data, dbdata
I used F1, Criskelo, Juwe, Bezke ... Now Trying Continuum :0
Sometimes the phone is not wakeupable after Standbye and i experience the mentioned full freezes for example when using flash in browser
Have you tried to wait more than 5 min at the first reboot after you flash JVP rom?
Let it rebuild and complete the configuration by itself.

Try to follow "all" the instructions made by Achotjan... or just simply reboot your X8 and there you go... a nice WiFi without errors (except WiFi Tether)
so how was it ?
try full wipe, clear cache and dalvik cache

Sorry again for double posting.
I tried using Odin to flash it back to a stock gingerbread ROM, still hangs at the start up screen.
Whenever I receive a call or try to make a call the phone freezes and ultimately crashes. I can hear sound of the person after a minute or so freezing. This doesn't happen at every call, like 8/10 times it will FC. This has made it impossible to use the phone.
The following message appears everytime it crashes:
The process com.android.phone is not responding. Would you like to close it?

If I am in contacts com.android.contacts crashes.
I have tried clearing the phone application cache but it doesn't help.
I am running Slim ICS (4.2) with no mod or anything installed. Its completely clean. I have tried CM9, AOKP on my phone and my brother's galaxy S. All have the same problem on both the phones.
Here is some info about the phone:
Baseband version: I9000XXJVT
Kernel version : [email protected] #` Wed May 23
Build number: 4.2
Mod Version: Slim_ICS_4.0.4
I am using this phone in India if it matters.
What can I do to fix this problem?
EDIT: I update my baseband to XXJVU. Didn't help. What now?
Have you tried clearing cache in recovery and all that jazz? Be sure to do a backup while in recovery before you do!!
Yes, I cleared all kinds of cache before installing.
I did wipe data/ factory reset, wipe cache, wipe dalvik cache.

This is guess work but maybe a different kernel would help, try out this Semaphore kernel and just flash it in recovery.
What is this kernel? Semaphore ICS 1.2.6s
The Semaphore kernel project is in a lot more detail here and here.
The problem was due to faulty proximity sensor. I had to install MIUI ROM to disable it. Its the only ROM that has the option of disabling it.
I was able to disable the driver of proximity sensor (GPA2) using hardware disabler app but the phone was too slow hence MIUI.
