Does anyone have any trouble getting the screen to come on after you push the power button? Every time I try to wake my phone up it takes about 3 to 5 secs to come on

Mine does it, but not every time. More often than not though.
Coming from where the wind begins.....
Mine varies from 1sec to 3secs. I'm assuming it takes longer at times because it's in its deep sleep state. And that's a good thing if it is in deep sleep. I'll live with it.
I notice this too. It definitely was not delayed like this on my GS4 but like 440bro points out perhaps it is required for a better sleep state.

This happened twice this morning. My Bionic was on my desk, idling, for about an hour. I picked it up and push the power button to wake it up, but it didn't wake up.
I also long-pressed the power button, and it still wake my phone up. Only after taking the battery out was I able to restart the phone. Then the same thing happened again about 30 minutes later. I might have to exchange with another unit, but I don't want to since I like how everything else is working great.
Has anyone run into Bionic not waking up from idle?

Happened to me one time. Battery pull.

It sounds like it might have locked up while it was asleep. I haven't had this happen on my Bionic. Were any apps, especially large ones, left running while it was sleeping? My last phone wouldn't wake up properly if Google Maps or Angry Birds were left running for a while when it was sleeping.

Was excited opened the box today and played with the nexus 7 for about 3 hrs. Installed some apps and download a movie. Then the screen went black and never came back. It was charging at the time. Tried holding the power button for 10 seconds and nothing. Called Google they said hold all three buttons, that did nothing. Guess I'm taking it back to game stop. Going to have to wait for another to come in. Anyone else have this issue out any ideas

There was another similar occurrence earlier today. Think it was from UK maybe? Most likely you'll need to call Google for RMA.
Which firmware were you running?
Google said return it to game stop. Gs said they would take it back. It was running the latest update. Bc it ran an update after I opened it

Yup, I had exactly the same problem. Screen froze, flickered and then died completely. Btw, if you press the bezel around the screen is the left hand edge in portrait spongier/less robust than the rest of the device?

Not enough to be noticeable.

Hmm. Don't want to be "that guy" but... You only mention taking it out and playing.
Did you actually try plugging it in?
Edit: Woops, missed it on my phone. If it was charging, I'd advise you to get in touch with google. Try volume up + power for 10 seconds too though, just to be sure.

I hope mine is not faulty, it is on its way.
Similar things have happened on my Lumia 900. It has helped me to plug it in and out over and over and then try the button reset.

After getting an RA from ebuyer, I now have it working again after a number of hours on charge and doing much as txaggies07 quote suggests. I think there may have been a problem that the charge wasn't going through properly yesterday, even though I plugged it in and it registered on the icon top right. Once the screen died there was no response with the usual charging icon even after disconnect and reconnect (I even tried a different mains socket!) However, since I got it to boot again I have had 2 random reboots without doing anything taxing on it.
It is kinda flaky behaviour, but maybe it is worth a shot aklbeach? At least until Monday !

How were you charging? If by computer USB port that's probably why

Mains socket, as stated.

Yea I tried holding the power button for ten seconds and holding all 3 buttons like Google recommended. I already returned it to game stop. Now just waiting on another. It was plugged in to the wall charger. It was showing that it was charging and I tried plugging it in again the next day and still didn't do anything.

I had a similar experience. Played with mine for about 6 hours.
Testing things, trying things out, downloading apps, etc.
Put it to sleep and was preparing for bed myself. After a few minutes
I decided to download one more app. Tried to wake it up, but it was dead!
Tried all sorts of things: long press, pressing several of the buttons, tried
to connect it to PC to see if it would be recognized -- no go
I then plugged it into the wall to charge it overnight to see if that would work (no charging icon showed up)
The next day, still dead.
Called Google Play and they are sending me a new one.
I would say pull the battery for a minute and then plug it back in a try again but i think that might void the warranty. Seriously my G2 does that when its in my pocket sometimes and pressing the power button does nothing until a pull the battery. I'm about 68% sure that pulling the battery will get it to boot again.
Honestly though any electronic device with a sealed battery should come with on of those paperclip hard reset buttons, unfortunately logic fails some time.

No worries, not a waste. I had to check myself when it died. And when it wouldn't charge (did I turn it on at the wall? Maybe the socket is broken? Has there been a power cut? Am I imagining this?) Weird thing was it came back to life after much fiddling. I now think there may have been a stray piece of plastic or similar covering a pin and blocking the feed.

Picked up my One on launch day and noticed the power button was not level (as if half of it had been mashed in and didn't sit right). Granted, not a huge deal, the button just has to be pressed harder, however I could see it becoming a problem over the next year or so. Gonna try to get a replacement tomorrow. Just wondering if anyone else had a similar issue?

I've got the same thing. It doesn't require any extra force but its noticeably angled.

Mine is the same, and I was in 3 today and their display model was the same so it's not an issue for me, the button still feels very useable
I went and got a replacement today, and the replacement heats up to about 115 degrees within 5-10 minutes of use. Every setting and app the same as on the first. I called the guy at Sprint and he said he'd take a look. I just can't seem to win.

The galaxy active s4 keeps turning off randomly in my friends pocket. I'm not sure if there is an issue with the phone or maybe it's user error. If anyone has any ideas or similar issues I would really appreciate some input.

Does this happen only in his pocket? If it is it might be that he is somehow bumping into the power button. I know my phone does that sometimes, thought not often enough to be an issue.
Yeah it is in his pocket from what he said. But it seems to be happening far to much. Also, do you ever have any signal problems with it?

Mine does the exact same thing. I found that it's due to the power button getting pressed and held down, it reboots the phone after around 10 seconds or so.
Oh and I have signal issues but that's due to my cell phone provider. When I was in Hawai'i using T-Mobile it was pretty much amazing.
Thanks for all the answers guys. I appreciate it.

been having the same issues since day 1, when I first got mine it wouldn't hold a charge, it wouldn't stay on even when it was plugged in, and it would hang during charging, usually sitting around 78-77 percent, unless plugged into an AC adapter.
Earlier, when I pulled the battery, to check the IMEI or something, I popped it back in and turn the phone on, only to find I have 3% battery left? It was at ~60 when I pulled it, it was only out for about 30 seconds and the phone was only off for about 2 minutes, if that.
Well here's my scenario. My M8 is completely stock. While doing a profile update the phone froze. After 3-4 minutes I pushed the power button. The screen shut off and that was it. Now I can't even get the little light to come on when charging it. Any ideas folks

If it is still in your 14 day period return it, other wise use htcs support
Try holding volume up and down + power, can take up to 2 minutes. If not return it.

I'm not sure as to what happened, but in the morning about 12 hrs after it happened I put it on the charger and the light came on. It was blinking do I let it charge and now it's OK. The phone does notify me that it did an abnormal restart and that it wanted to send a report to htc.
