After flashing cm-11-20140306-NIGHTLY-galaxysmtd.zip and Semaphore_KK_3.4.0s and rebooted my phone, when it finished updating the apps. The error "Unfortunately, com.android.phone has stopped!" has appeared and everytime I click "Ok" button, it keeps appearing. Anyone can help me fix this problem? I tried flashing it many times, and downloaded the rom trice but still I keep getting the same problem.

i have found the answer to my question, thanks btw. i think Semaphore 3.4.0 is not compatible with the latest upgrade. I tried flashing the rom without flashing a custom kernel, and it worked.

Is it possible to update the current ROM version without wiping the data and apps installed on the current ROM version.
Currently I'm using squadzone's ver5.2 and I'm planning to use the ver5.3.
Can I just install the ver5.3 without wiping my current data and apps?

Though this is not recommended, you can try not to wipe data and apps.. If your phone boots to homescreen after you flash 5.3 without wiping, well and good.. But if you get stuck on the boot splash screen, you have no choice but to do a data wipe.. Best option is to backup app data with TBP (Titanium) and restore them after you do a clean flash, that is wiping data/reset, wiping cache..
Hope you press the Thanks button if my post helps..
kitrax59, it is not so bad as you think. I tried lots of times to jump from one CyanogenMod to other without wiping, and it worked rather OK. i didnt notice any problem. ecyaj, you may not wipe, but if you notice some bugs - it is recommended to wipe data
Thanks for the info GallardoSD..., but it was too late. I just wipe everything and installed squad's new v5.4. I used TBP and did restore them after flashing. It was just I need to setup everything again...
Whenever I receive a call or try to make a call the phone freezes and ultimately crashes. I can hear sound of the person after a minute or so freezing. This doesn't happen at every call, like 8/10 times it will FC. This has made it impossible to use the phone.
The following message appears everytime it crashes:
The process com.android.phone is not responding. Would you like to close it?

If I am in contacts com.android.contacts crashes.
I have tried clearing the phone application cache but it doesn't help.
I am running Slim ICS (4.2) with no mod or anything installed. Its completely clean. I have tried CM9, AOKP on my phone and my brother's galaxy S. All have the same problem on both the phones.
Here is some info about the phone:
Baseband version: I9000XXJVT
Kernel version : [email protected] #` Wed May 23
Build number: 4.2
Mod Version: Slim_ICS_4.0.4
I am using this phone in India if it matters.
What can I do to fix this problem?
EDIT: I update my baseband to XXJVU. Didn't help. What now?
Have you tried clearing cache in recovery and all that jazz? Be sure to do a backup while in recovery before you do!!
Yes, I cleared all kinds of cache before installing.
I did wipe data/ factory reset, wipe cache, wipe dalvik cache.

This is guess work but maybe a different kernel would help, try out this Semaphore kernel and just flash it in recovery.
What is this kernel? Semaphore ICS 1.2.6s
The Semaphore kernel project is in a lot more detail here and here.
The problem was due to faulty proximity sensor. I had to install MIUI ROM to disable it. Its the only ROM that has the option of disabling it.
I was able to disable the driver of proximity sensor (GPA2) using hardware disabler app but the phone was too slow hence MIUI.
I own a Samsung Galaxy Ace S5830 running on android 2.3.6 with build number GINGERBREAD.DDKQ8.I successfully rooted my device(SU icon in the app drawer), flashed cwm5.0.2.6 with no error.
I flashed gingercruzt 2.2, cm 7.1,7.2,9,10 with the following instructions:
1) Wipe data/factory reset
2) Wipe cache partition
3) Under advanced, wipe dalvik cache
4) Flashed the rom.
After rebooting for the first time, this happens(for every rom I tried):
The phone boots into the rom(the capacitive buttons get turned on) -> setup window is reached -> then the phone starts booting again->in further boots it reaches cm logo only and keeps on booting again and again.
I tried wiping data, cache partition, dalvik cache and reboot. None of it worked.
I flashed the roms again .But still stuck at bootloop.
Ps : I randomly took my sim out and did a complete wipe and the roms work fine!!!.
But with sim again, the same problem persists.
PLEASE HELP.THANKS IN ADVANCE.
If you have installed any custon rom previous than i suggest you to first flash fresh ddkq8 stock and than try to install ur custom rom..
It might be happening because of previous rom data !

Problem could be your simcard? How is that even possible. Try flashing with your sim out then insert it after the rom is installed.

It would be a great advisable idea if you flash stock rom via odin every time when you want to switch from one cusom rom to other...

Did you mount the /system? Sometimes you have to do this.
Boot into CWM, mounts and storage > mount /system
Check to see that everything is mounted, sd-ext may or may not work, don't worry about it, it's a big in most CM9 ROMs
Hi Guys!
Okay, so I have a problem here. Everytime, I try to flash a rom onto my Galaxy Note, it either gets stuck in a bootloop or most functions don't work (quick functions, WiFi, home button etc.) This is starting to get pretty annoying as I hate stock android and love CyanogenMod. I even tried the new CyanogenMod quick install using the computer client and android app.
I'm not sure if you need to know this but I am running CyanogenMod 10.2 (not fully functioning as problems above occur).
Andoird Version:- 4.3.1
Baseband Version:- N7000XXLT3
Kernel Version:- 3.0.64-CM-gd6f2f4a
Build Number:- cm_n7000-uderdebug 4.3.1 JLS361 28760a496f dev-keys
How do I fix this guys? Really need a solution!
Thanks in advance,
Rohan
sometimes repeated hard reboot (5-6 times) helps till ROM is properly setup.

Cheers man i'll try this and get back to you
Between each flash of a new ROM you should perform a full wipe before flashing in recovery:
in mounts and storage:
-format /system
-format /preload
-format /data
also you can format cache and dalvik cache(in advanced I believe).
-flash zip (or stock ROM with odin)
-flash gapps if needed
If you don't do those wipes then you will have many bugs, performance issues, battery issues, bootloops, random reboots etc.
I dont know where to put this question so bare with me.
i just flashed my i9001 from 2.3.6 to [GT-I9001][ROM][ION][KK][4.4.2][KOT49H] CyanogenMod 11.0 by ADC-Team - Release 2 (ION) - Kernel 3.4.x
flashing looked normal. no problems. but now wifi drops out. especially when i open whatsapp. on instagram, facebook it works normal, no drop out. only with whatsapp.
any fixes?
only thing i would say is try re installing wipe data/factory reset, wipe cache, wipe dalvik cache, and maybe even format /system then re flash then rom and see if that helps :good:
Wipe cach and data
