Yesterday I updated my Xperia T to Android 4.3 via Sony Companion Software. My phone is not rooted. Everything apperently went fine, but after the Update process I wanted to turn on my Wifi, but it did not work. I tried that from the quicksettings and form the settings directly. The button remain grey for a certain time and the turns back to off.
I turned off my phnone and on again, but a white triangle with a screw came and the phone remained in that status for more than 6 hours. After that it turned on, but the Wifi problem remains. Regarding Bluetooth, that works fine.
What I noticed is that when I check the phone info and the Wifii settings, no MAC Adress is listed there for Wifi. I don't think its a hardware problem, because everything was fine before updating.
What should I do? I am afraid to turn my phone off bcause it could go back to the white triangle remaining for several hours in that state. I dont think a factory reset would help, because there seems to be an update problem and I would like to rather not loose all my settings.
Any help would be very appreciated, because I urgently need wifi in my university.......

The ftf file is the stock Rom, you can find it here on xda. Flashtool also. Flashtool only works if you have windows xp, vista 7 or 8. Not on 8.1. Repairing it using pcc should be easier though

Tnx again. Regarding stoch Rom, I think I am a newbie in that field. I will try to repair via PCC. I have sony bridge for Mac or a Windows PC with Windows 8.1. Which one would you prefer? I updated to Android 4.3 on a Windows 8.1 PC. Do you think that might be a reason, why there is an issue with the update process or something went wrong?
Windows 8.1 works with one of the updates the launched not so long ago

Unfortunately, reparing it with PCC did not help and I am quite desperate. I bought the phone last year as a used one. I am quite a newbie in this field, but could it be, that the rom installed is an altered one and a normal update via PPC leads to this Wifi problem? Normally that should not be the case, but how can I find that out what is causing the problem and what must I do to overcome this drama of mine. I whish I didn't perform that update, because everything wAs working fine before.....

ok what u need to do is root your phone first . they are some threads that show u how to do it i recommed after rooting jus use this rom
httphttp://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2647459
to root unable debug mode in settings/developer
and unknown sources in settings/security .. first u will have to go back to 4.1.2 to root ur phone and then follow the above instructions
Look at these threads, it can help a lot:

A factory reset would definitely work. You don't know how many times I've seen people (even with different phones) have problems like these because they change their Android version and/or flash different ROMs without wiping their partitions, i.e., doing at least a Factory Reset. If you were rooted you could try deleting the "wpa_supplicant.conf" file in /data/misc/wifi. The problem is, since you're already on 4.3, there is no sure way to root 4.3 unless your bootloader is unlocked. So unless you find out a way to backup your data/settings, you're either going to lose it all when doing a Factory Reset, or downgrading to 4.1.2 (to root), or even flashing a stock 4.3 FTF, because I'm sure your problem is that you haven't wiped.

I wouldn't root the phone if you don't need it. Simply download a stock .ftf file and flash it via flashtool, this will NOT void your warranty
I too got this problem suddenly, did resetting the phone, flashed using flashtool & repaired using Sony PCC but to no avail.
Is it a hardware problem ?
Help me guys.

I unlocked the bootloader. No success. Installed Kitkat. No success. Just now sent it to service centre after restoring back to 4.3 & locking the bootloader
Sent from my GT-I9500 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
This happened to me.
I flashed stock and everything was good, I decided to lock the bootloader as I wanted OTA updates. After I locked the bootloader I noticed my Wi-Fi wouldn't turn on. After half an hour of searching and replying to posts I was told to re-flash the whole stock FTF and wipe everything and it worked!

didntask you to unlock tho,

if it is caused by unlocking bootloader, most likely TA backup will solve the problem?

For 2 days I flashed at least 5-6 ftf & 1 kitkat firmware; still my wifi & bluetooth refused to switch on. I think my phone's problem probably is hardware. It's presently in service centre. Awaiting a call from them.

Hello everyone!
I'm trying to fix my phone for 2 days still no success.
My problem is:
When i turn on the phone it does nothing, only the screen lights up for like 2-3 seconds after that it turns off.
It keeps doing it again and again until I take out the battery.
It cant even show the sony ericcson logo.
Battery works i tried it with another phone!
PHONE WASNT ROOTED OR FLASHED OR ANYTHING LIKE THAT
Solutions i tried :
Sony ericcson update service - no use
Flashing original firmware with flashtool - no use (btw flash mode works as long the flashing process works like charm)
Hope someone can help me out because there is no more warranty for the phone
Thanks in advance
Erik

Hello, I hope someone can solve me the following problem:
I've been with Validus and RR CM ROMs and one day my wifi stopped connecting to any network, I thought reinstalling the ROM would work, but not ... Today I've been doing full wipes and was the same. So my last chance was putting a STOCK but has not worked, so I do not know what else to do ...
When I try to connect appears:
- Connecting ...
- Disabled
- Saved
But never connected.
Thanks to that I can help with anything ...
Regards

Try few of these.
have you tried connecting to different WiFi routers?
HAve you recently unlocked bootlader unofficially?
Yes, I have tried and the same, I unlocked months ago... Sometimes it connects (few minutes), I have tried to clean saved networks, wipe Google , recover WiFi from titanium backup... Now it is in authentication problem...

That's exactly what I thought and that's why I have asked you about your bootloader status. At times, you can lose your bluetooth and wifi while unlocking the bootloader which is more common if you unlock it unofficially. So if you can recall, when exactly the problem started. How long after you unlocked your bootloader ?
You say by reverting back to stock, it has not helped ? How did you revert back to STOCK. Try using Sony companion to repair your phone. That might help.
If that doesnot work, try relocking your bootloader on stock and see
Well, at times weirdest things seem to work!
I suggest flash STOCK which is device specific. i understand there is variation in Xperia Z models and thus I suggest you use the one which is device specific and report back,
By the way, is any Sony Care centre near your place ?

I don't think it is because of unlocking because was officially and I have being using and changing ROMs and there wasn't any problem.
Maybe it could be when I flashed cm-12.1 (RR ROM). Then, I flashed stock one with flash tool to fix my WiFi, is there any different with companion? I can't go to Sony I am travelling in few days, and I need a phone soon!!!

The only reason I'm referring you to Sony companion is that it might fix the issue as it is official way to do it.

Hmm, that is really strange. When I was on Stock ROM, I never had that issue. I wish I could help you. The only thing I can suggest is re-installing the ROM using Sony's Companion Repair software, but I don't think it's worth that hassle. So the only thing I can suggest is try not to turn your phone off if you can help it
