I have a AT&T Galaxy Note 3 that I just upgraded to KitKat 4.4.2 today. The Model Number is: SAMSUNG-SM-N900A. The Build Number is: KOT49H.N900AUCUCNC2.
I was just wondering a) If root was possible, I don't really care about tripping knox. b) If not possible how long will it be approx. until it is possible?
Thanks in advance!

A) No
B) Nobody knows. I believe they patched the exploit we were using according to designgears
Not yet, and no one knows when. It will happen eventually.

Bulid Number- JSS15J.N900AUCUBMJ5
Don't want to use Kingo because it's not approved by XDA

The original version of Kingo is not approved. The current version has no issues. I used it and many others have. If you are worried about sending out information, then any APP you have installed is a potential threat. They do not have to list all the requirements an app needs in the store.
If you download Kingo to your PC and start to install it there is a terms of service you have to agree to. In that TOS on line 5 the makers of Kings state they do not remove, copy, or send any data from your PC or device to be rooted.
That being said if they are found to be sending any sort of data or info then you can sue them for Violation of that term.
Kingo is the only safe and brick/mistake proof method for MJ5 right now and many of us have used it with no issues.
Does Kingo trip the the KNOX flag? I really want to root this device and get rid of some of the bloatware on it. BUT since its only about 3 days old and I have a contract I don't want to make it un-replaceable if something else happens.
Also I read that 4.4 will be released... Ive been with ATT for years and have found them to be a bit slow on updates. Will we get 4.4 or not?
Thanks

Kingo does not trip KNOX. It also has the ability to be unrooted by reconnecting to PC and unrooting or Go into SU on the phone and select unroot. Then the phone will be as though you never rooted it. I have confirmed this works on MJ5 as well.
As for 4.4, I doubt you will see it on the N3. Samsung likes to hold out for the next device for the new Android version. So if they make a Note 4 then 4.4 will be released to it. The only chance N3 users have for 4.4 is if the Bootloader is ever unlocked or use Safestrap once somebody makes a ROM based on KitKat.
I'd argue we Will see kitkat myself. This is the best att has right now IMHO. And of wager at lest one more major update.

Hi, I need help with the ROM selection process. So idk if the Knox counter is still the same since I last rooted, which was a Note 3, but it has to be a 0x0 counter to avoid tripping it. Is there a way to unvoid the warranty and return to stock without T-Mobile noticing if the phone has problems? Which ROM is similar to the S6's debloated Touchwiz with all the features? Is there even a port? Lollipop available for the Note 4 as well? Samsung is really dropping the ball for software updates. Thanks for the info and help.
All these questions could of been answered and have been in many other threads. Use search and read up.
Go into the Development section and look around.

No. But many have done warranty exchanges with 0x1 with no problems, including me.
As for all the other questions, you can check the developer section.
And no lollipop yet. Sprint just go theirs, but hopefully we'll be up next.
hey everyone i just started an account and navigating the forum is pretty hard, is there a way to root a galaxy s5 for att smg 900a VERSION 5.0 LOLLIPOP? i would greatly appreciate it if anyone could help me out. Thanks!
If you got the phone with lollipop installed, unfortunately there is no active rooting method.

I have the AT&T S5 running Lollipop.
I don't recall - but I *think* I got this device before Lollipop was released. I got the device in May'14. My research shows that Lollipop came out Nov'14.
So - if I got the device with the prior release - but it's running Lollipop now - is there a way to root it?
Thanks.
No I have the same problem. I have been waiting for months now

If you took the lollipop OTA then no, there is still no active root available.
Any news on root yet?

If you are on the official 5.0+ ota, through any means other than the prerooted flashfire method, there is no known way to downgrade, root, etc. If you flashed the ota for lollipop, bought your phone and it had lollipop, or took the ota, and it is an att s5 (G900A) then it is not, at the time of me posting this, possible to downgrade to KitKat or root or anything of the sort.

Does anyone have the firmware for the lollipop on s5 active?
Does anyone know if models of S5 being sold as new now are being released with lollipop or kitkat preinstalled?
Is there a way to know by serial number on the box?
The reason I am asking is I just purchased one online a few days ago on the daily steals website has it was advertised As new and unlocked. I did not realize being that I am from Canada that this was a lockdown AT&T model. It is scheduled to arrive in the next day or so and I would prefer not to open the box and affect my ability to return it without restocking fee if it already comes with lollipop on it. Hi I'm less concerned about achieving root and more concerned about having the ability to native flea tether on my plan back here in Canada.
Also if it did come with lollipop firmware preinstalled, is there a way to enable native tethering on the phone if root is not achievable?

I'm not aware of any way of knowing before hand.

I'm not sure either I would just see if it is a 5.0 and below and just achieve root its so simple then you flash native tethering it just sounds like that would be the easiest way
5.0 and below or just kit Kat?

Not getting my hopes up, but hopefully with 6.0 there will be an exploit.

KitKat 4.4.2, if you're on 4.4.4 you can downgrade, any higher (5.0) and you're stuck.

Okay so I have the AT&T version of the galaxy s6 obviously and from what information I got it already it seems difficult to root this phone I've tried a few methods but they don't seem to work unless I'm doing something wrong I currently have service with Cricket Wireless but I'm using a AT&T galaxy s6 with that prevent me from rooting my phone any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated thanks in advance
I do not think root is currently possible for the latest (s6) versions of Android.
Correct. Depends on your software version whether it's rootable or not. If you are on 5.0.2 either OF3 or OF4, or any 5.1.1, there is currently no root available.

That spot that says android version 5.1.1. That's your answer. Not rootable.

****! Well can I at least tether my internet? And when exactly did the 5.1.1 update come out
Hello so I just got a at&t galaxy s5 that has been updated to lollipop with the G900AUCU4BOF3 bootloader and am wondering if it is any way possible to root it. I honestly don't care about tripping knox because it is already out of warranty and is used anyway. I have read some places and searched on here to see if I could find an answer but I haven't found anything about my circumstances... Any help would be greatly appreciated.
First off wrong section, second off to answer your question, no you cannot root since you are on lollipop already(needed to be rooted on KitKat).
