I saw a new beta for ss that supports kitkat. 4.4. I was thinking of installing the Knox raid Kk rom into the stock slot of ss. I am currently on the mi9 that was installed when I rooted using rdlv. I was looking at the instructions for installing Knox raid Kk. My question is this. Since I have installed the beta ss 3.72 which supports Kk do I need to follow the instructions for upgrading from a jb rom or the instructions for installing on top of rom with ss?

Hey all,
Im on bigxie's Stock Android 4.2.2 Google Play Ed rom and I got the notification this morning for System Update Downloaded for 4.3.
I assume this will not work anyway but would this run the risk of bricking my phone? Also is there any way to get rid of the notification so I dont accidentally pocket install it or something?
Cheers

Are you running the odexed version? Using the stock kernel? Stock recovery?
If you have these things you will be good to go.

Hi Advance Users
here is my tutorial
Requirements:
1.CWM v8 (v9 is too buggy cant install anything) https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=23269279319202183
2.UPDATED ROOT :http://download.chainfire.eu/376/SuperSU/UPDATE-SuperSU-v1.89.zip
3.Working CWM or any recovery
Flash Leaked ROM
Flash Root
Then Flash CWM v8
Turn off
Flash kernel from the leaked rom zip via fastboot
Reboot!!
Then cheers!!! your phone is rooted with cwm installed
Dont Forget to Give "Thanks"
i see the leaked Rom has no CWM installed.
so how could i flash the ROOT zip ??
im stuck, Jai
Use a kernel with cwm already, such nk or cm based. Then directly flash JB kernel afterwards. But flashing root and cwm before booting the room is more convenient as op instructed. Great.

In my about phone menu I can see the Android version is 4.3 which says to me this is a jellybean ROM. However I seem to be getting conflicting info via Google as to whether this is a kk or jb ROM. Very dumb question since I'm 99 percent sure it's jb but I want to make sure before I go flashing ROMs (safestrap and root installed already)
I appreciate any I formation. Thanks

Thank you so much.
hello everyone! today I just got my Note 3 N900a. with 4.4.2 KK today.I would like to root but I don't really know where to start as I don't want to brick this device. my G Pro is rooted and custom flashed but this is my first time dealing with Knox. so I have a few questions before I dive in:
1. Will Kingo root my Note 3 and not trip knox or UVDLV work better?..what about CF-Autoroot?.I heard sammy caught on so it might not work..but I saw that it will work but still trip knox? i'm rather confused here.. My AP is N900AUCUCNC2.
2. IF I DO GET ROOT PRIVILEGES. I know that I can't flash a custom recovery and there is an ongoing bounty to unlock the bootloader. So is it safe to use safetrap and will it affect knox? Or will safestrap remove my Recovery? (On my old S4 I did the mistake of Goomanagering a recovery and wiped my stock recovery but It still worked fine haha..just couldn't update or it would go into ODIN loop..which I could get out of) I will probably want to flash a custom de-bloated KK TW ROM if I do get the chance. I used safestrap on my old Razr M but is it different now? I sound like a total idiot right now but before the Note 3 I pretty much am a confident android power user but what scares me is that while I was using my G Pro, my friend from work had a Note 3 and he bricked it and now he's stuck using his Note 2. I don't want to make a critical mistake. If a more experienced user could guide me and show me what my options are or what I have to work with I would love you forever! XD

well this is a turn of events..my wife's white note 3 was 4.3 and the black one is 4.4.2. She knows that i'm a frequent rooter and that she was also debating getting the black one at the store. Plus she liked the B&W statusbar colors. So instead so I took her white one. She has the non-rootable 4.4.2 phone (she's not that much of a power user)...so now I have 4.3 to use...is THIS exploitable? my N900a Note 3's AP ends in MJ5.

cool, I remember I had to do that on my S3 when I used EZ-Unlocker. Now in regards to this ROM (which is the one i'm looking at)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2714601
It requires 4.4.2 and rooted. I'm on 4.3 and rooted. If 4.4.2 is unrootable right now..how would I do it?..how would I go from 4.3 rooted to 4.4.3 and not be tied down?
I know the leaked non-official KK doesn't lock you down to KK and the AT&T version permanently does.

Totally new to the G2. I previously had a Galaxy S4. I have the 24A build. Rooted with TWRP v2.7.0.0 I was able to install beanstalk and Resurrection but not carbon or pacman (boot loops). Is there some kind of patch I need to flash with certain roms? I did some searching but with my grandson tugging on my arm all the time it is difficult at best finding time to research.

Because your bootstack is 24A, you can only run roms that are using the 24A source code underneath. That would be any stock based KK rom. There is a Carbon beta in the thread that will work also, you just can't use the nightlies until they are updated.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=52376271&postcount=444
Most of the AOSP based roms are using the drivers/kernel from the older JB source that was available at the time, to go back to one of them, you need to downgrade your bootstack on your phone to 12B.
The devs should start moving all their roms to use the 24A/KK source now that is available, it will just take some time.
