[URGENT][i537][4.4.2] NEED NC9 modem.bin - Galaxy S 4 Active Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I urgently need an NC9 modem.bin that I can flash through ODIN, I've already tried the modem.bin provided by a fix for MF1 and ML2, didn't work for me. I need to flash the modem.bin badly. Until then, my phone isn't working, only WiFi.......
Can someone PLEASE help me with this? PLEASE and THANK YOU for every suggestion and piece of advice

If you rename the NC9 cfg file to a zip and open it up there is a modem.bin file in there. I'm not sure if it actually works or not, someone more knowledgeable then me would be able to confirm whether or not it will work.
EDIT: After looking at it, it's in the patch folder and only 3.5MB so it won't work. You're going to need somebody to extract it from their phone. When you get it, please post a link to it so I can put it in the Firmware thread.

Let's get a request for that, maybe @Sunderwear could, or someone that can do it. Until then I don't have service. Only WiFi.
Can someone find the NC9 i537 modem.bin? Extract it from a stock phone and give it to me? I'll upload it into my Google Drive and share it or something. Thank you!

UPDATE-
4.4.2 update installed correctly, however the modem.bin failed. If there is someone with a fully functional i537 (Baseband is actually correct and reads as NC9 as the last 3 characters) PLEASE get that to me. If there is anything that someone can do to help me with this, PLEASE do it.
If @Devo7v or @Sunderwear could maybe find a way or find someone to do it, or someone else who obviously knows what they're doing.
Thanks in advance
Again, i537 NC9 (4.4.2) modem.bin

Check this link. This may have the modem you are looking for.
I had downloade the NC9. I had installed Imperium3.5 and wifi is not working. I will try the modem downloaded.

If somebody on NC9 could run this command through ADB it looks like it will extract the modem.bin you are looking for.
Please read the linked thread (its only 2 pages) before you do since I'm not sure what effect it will have on your phone.

Just at first glance, I don't think that's the modem, the file you attached is only 109KB, it should be somewhere around 40-50MB. I just want to say that I'm not very proficient in ADB, I was just able to find a post where somebody was able to extract modem.bin from their phone. I have no idea whether or not it works, we need somebody more knowledgeable than me to comment and provide some help.
I appreciate the help though.

The modem.bin provided above DID NOT work sadly, need someone to help me bad!!
UPDATE-
AT&T is becoming suspicious that my phone has been disconnected but they are seeing activity from it. They don't exactly know what's happening, but I need someone to really stick out their feelers for a person with a stock S4 Active i537 4.4.2. (NC9) I really need it bad. BAD. AT&T told me that if the phone didn't reconnect they were going to disconnect the line and have me send it to them. If you know someone that can extract their stock NC9 modem.bin from their i537, please have them do so and contact me. (PM me for my email)

Did you try flashing an MF1? And really, What you say is a lie! AT&T can't see anything from your phone if it is not connected! !
Try Both: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2689218 First try MF1.

That is what I'm going to do after school today, thanks. I'm just on the fence because of Knox.. the downgrade might trip a flag or something.. But I'll try it.

UPDATE-
Reflashing 4.3 and then the modem fix and updating did not work, it did not pass the ODIN 4.3 phase. I am going to Best Buy again, but I don't exactly know if it will work.. I hope it does. If anyone can try to get an ODIN compatible NC9 modem.bin (should be ~50ish MB) that would be AMAZING (and maybe worth a few bucks )

I'm on the same boat as you mate. Really looking forward for someone to post up their modem from KK.

So, is there some progress here?
Sent from my SM-G900H

yes, there is.
I flashed a new modem.bin and it didn't work whatsoever. I'm going to try to find a way to extract the modem.bin from someone with a stock rooted S4 active, already contacting me. If anyone knows, PM me. Most likely it will be ADB or something, if not, anything helps.
STATUS UPDATE-
My S4 Active now has no WiFi, Data(4G), Calling, or Texting. WARNING TO ALL USERS! DO NOT FLASH ANYTHING UNLESS YOU KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING! I will try to figure something out for everyone, using resources such as Google, and other users that know things and are willing to help.
Again, do not flash unless you are FULLY backed up and/or know what you are doing.
If anyone knows anything, please respond to this or PM me, thank you.
(yes, I know the post seems hostile, it isn't, it's a warning to people so they don't do what happened to me and a lot of other users, it is meant with love.....the love meant for strangers on the Internet at least....but still)

I have been trough this and no one helped me then.
Transformix did found the solution for me.
Now in your case have you tried to flash the software from 4.3 correctly?
Because there is a way to downgrade to 4.3
Tried that first
But if is not working why don't you tried to root the phone and then flash the ml2 modem.bin

Sprint modem.bin do we have the right one yet?

I know wrong forum, but I'm looking to hear from some more experienced folks on here with the Tab.
Long story short. I knew flashing the modem would break something. I had previously downloaded the tab.rar file that had the restore files in it. My Tab would not update to the latest OTA because I deleted some sprint bloat on it. So my only alternative would be to restore the device since I deleted system files.
I went into odin and adding the pit.pit and the .tar file. Fails at trying to flash the modem.bin. I think at that point I tried it again with the modem.bin and it just gets stuck trying to flash it.
So then it's stuck at the Phone ! PC screen. Odin still sees it so I flash just the .tar (no .pit) and and it's back.
Does anyone have any modem files I can try? Or know of anyway to get my GPS back? I tested it today after doing some things and data seemed to be working again, but since I was indoors at work I couldn't test the GPS, to make it better I left it there accidentally today.
I also tried to flash the OTA via recovery and it failed at the modem part.
Any suggestions on how to get that file?
I'm that way, how should we solve the problem?
plz tell me how to do?
i con't use gps, so i want to flash modem.bin from ea24.but.......

[REQUEST][FIRMWARE][4.4.2 KK] NC9 modem.bin

Users-There are owners of the i537 model that are running 4.4.2 without working baseband. (modem.bin)
I am making a request to someone running full stock AT&T firmware to extract their modem.bin and make sure it is ODIN flashable. The file size should be around 50MB, and the extraction can be done with ADB. The device can yes, be rooted, but the modem.bin must be NC9. To check, go to Settings > More > About Device > Baseband Version > it should end with "NC9"
If so, and you are rooted, (you might not have to be) PLEASE for the love of Android extract it and upload it somehow. So many users need the fix for NC9... That's why AT&T pulled the OTA actually.
Again, SGH-i537, 4.4.2 KitKat, must be Official, and the Build Number and Baseband Version should end with "NC9"
MANY THANKS!!!!
Yes, I'm really desperate, I know this is the third time I've posted this, but it needs to be done.
There could be a money incentive too

[Q] 66.5MB AT&T software update?

Hi,
Just for grins I clicked software update to see if there was anything available it came up and downloaded a 66MB update file. Anyone know what it is?
I am not the guinea pig for this, don't want to break root by accident. I'm currently on NC9 4.4.2 rooted by Sunderwear's method.

That is a update file that will update the phone from NC9 to NE3. It is an update that is supposed to fix all the things that the original 4.4.2 update broke. If you could, would you mind uploading the cfg file that is located in /cache/fota/?
We have the file that will update ML2 to NE3 (485MB), but we don't have this one. It would be a huge help if you could grab that file before it installs itself.
To answer your question about root, I'm going to bet that it will fail to install because you have root. But if it does install then you will most definitely lose root, however we have a root method for NE3 that can be found in this thread.
Please, please, please try to get that file, it would be a huge help.

Try /data/fota/ instead. Basically you need to find a cfg file in the fota folder but for some reason the fota folder is in a different location for different versions of firmware.

[Q] Any hope for root on OF3 Update?

I recently updated to OF3 to see what's what, not knowing the consequence of not being able to downgrade back to OE2. I know that Ping Pong is patched for this update, but I'm just wondering if there is any hope for root or if I'm screwed with this uldate. Thanks to anyone that can let me know!
Just Odin back to OF2 and update with the zip. Problem solved.

Downgrading back is not possible with the new OF3 update. You get errors and it's just not possible.

I believe you are correct. Unless his method seemed reasonably issue-proof (line use a different Odin version or something) I wouldn't try it.
Downgrading Failed for me also. Anyone have an idea of how to Root ?

Since you guys are trying to downgrade to OE2, I'm assuming that means you have the .tar files?? I just bought a new S6 and have been trying to update to OE2 from OCE and I have already tripped my Knox counter. It repeatedly tells me my software is up to date, so there is no way for me to OTA at the moment. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I know this is old, but i read that the problem is OTA update of 5.1.1 OF3 and i have 5.0 OF3, does it make any difference?
EDIT: sorry everyone, thought was on S5 section. Delete post please.

Looking for G900AUCU4BOF3 Odin tar Files.

Dose anyone have this file G900AUCU4BOF3. or Modem only. please let me know.
i looked all over and i couldn't find it. i have the OI5 latest one. but i really need that one.
Thanks in advance.
Muniz_ri had extracted of3 that has modem in it. It is not a tar though, not sure if that helps your situation.
Thank You, i will check that out.
Did you have any luck finding the Odin files. I'm being told in my situation here that I need that file. Like you I'm having trouble finding it.
i was looking for modem only, and i found it.
in your case you should flash the latest firmware which is 5.1.1, the odin tar file already on xda.

I hate to ask for someone to hold my hand but Can you point me in the right direction. I've been searching for that file for days. I'm so confused because there seems to be so many different type of files and this stuff about OC4 ,OF2, or OF3. I have no idea what the phone has. I would assume it has the newest one because it was up to day OTA before it softbricked. I guess it's OC4?. Then all these post talk about not being rooted but only using said files with said root program. At this point I have already replaced this phone with a Nexus 5X and am giving Project Fi a try. It just would be nice to get this phone fixed as a backup.
The modem file
Can you please upload the modem I'm in need of it aswell please
i also am in need of the of3 tar file. would be a great help if someone has one but i havent had any luck the last few weeks looking around the web
