i was unlocked, rooted, and running a custom rom. I attempted to return phone to stock using windroid toolkit. The phone booted into fastboot and was relocked. However, it will not go out of fastboot screen No Recovery, nothing!! Toolkit isnt recognizing phone when i try rebooting , recovery, etc. Perhaps something is missing or was deleted? I have until 8pm tonight to return and would love to get this running. Any help is truly appreciated. Thanks.

Of course it's compatible, you have to have s-off and cid 111111.

So why not use ADB and flash a recovery?

I attempted to flash recovery/rom via adb but i am still unsuccessful. it seems like there is nothing on the phone but fastboot. could really use some help here.
You fastboot flash recovery. Not adb.

Ummm, if your really having a ton of trouble fixing this you could get teamviewer and pm me the info and I can fix it for you.
But basically you want to make sure you have up to date ADB/fastboot ext and power on the phone into fastboot connect to your PC and the command you type is fastboot flash recovery (recoverynamehere).img then boot into recovery and probably the easiest thing would be to put a Rom on an SD card and flash from there, if not sideload a Rom.
Sent from my 831C using Tapatalk
i'm guessing since you relocked the bootloader you'll have to flash the unlock.bin again otherwise the bootloader wont let you flash a new recovery. Once the bootloader is unlocked again and recovery is re-installed you could sideload a rom and be back in business

The Most caused reason why your vivid is stuck on the white screen is because you flashed a wrong kernel or no kernel at all with the right rom
You need to relock bootloader Run the stock ruu unlock bootloader flash recovery then a kernel then go into recovery and flash the rom with an sd card

So, I was trying to put the Google Edition rom on my HTC One for Sprint. I had the right rom and everything. I noticed Wi-Fi wasn't working so I took it off and tried to go back to stock and then I noticed that the version on my phone (1.31.651.2) was higher than the version on the RUU. I have no OS installed on my phone and every time I try to flash a rom, it tells me I'm unrooted. Then, when I'm prompted to install superuser, it just reboots. I am now stuck in bootloader and recovery. I have absolutely no clue what to do. I have S-on as well. Please help!
All I can think of is to use this stock ROM here based on the 1.31 firmware and use the adb flash method. But I'm not sure if that would work as flashing .img's from adb would require S-OFF. Then again I am a bit new here, and others with more experience could chip in and then I may learn from it as well.

I just tried to use the program but it always says error: closed. Also, in recovery, it doesn't let me open sideload. It always fails. You need to s off. You get a lot more options for recovering from things like this. The thread is in one of the development forums here. Use moonshines method or download the all in one tool and use revone. It's really easy. Then you should be able to RUU back to stock and reroot.
I want to thank you guys for helping me first and foremost but I could not get revone on my phone and I couldn't do moonshine either. Moonshine ended in an error and revone requires root which somehow I don't have. I don't think there is any way I can get s-off

Ok so you need to do the following
Dev Unlock http://www.htcdev.com/bootloader/
Then Flash a recovery with this tool.

Try a rom like the following based on 1.31 and sideload with above tool.

If your still haveing trouble then thry to flash the 1.29 RUU

Try sideloading through TWRP a stock rooted Rom
Sent from my HTCONE using xda premium
So I recently accidentally wiped my internal storage which pretty much bricked my phone. I was rooted with S=on and custom recovery. Sideloading would not work for me, tried using TWRP and Clockwork mod recovery. I was able to return to stock though using this method : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2250904. Worked like a charm, then I unlocked the bootloader again, flashed a custom recovery again and rooted again. I didn't see anyone else post the above thread, so I thought I would share in the hope that it helps.
Does anyone else have a stock unrooted one that has come up with an update in the past day or two? My wife's says there is an update available(she is on 1.08.x.x). Just wondering what the update is for.

Edit: just took a peek at it, and it looks like it's mostly patching files in system, rather than flashing an all new system image. But the new version looks like it's "1.08.502.4".
i got a update notice 2 days ago but i already have twrp recovery and couldnt update with that recovery.
My wife's is not unlocked yet hopefully this isn't Att blocking the unlock process. Because the thing is just going to do it probably before I get a chance tonight. But I wouldn't put it past them. according to s-off crew, moonshine is most likely blocked with this OTA. There is a possible workaround and I will be doing the procedure this weekend and posting up a tutorial if it works.
If I am unlocked, rooted and have s-off can i safely take the update? It automatically started downloading on my phone and the only thing I can do to stop it is turn off all data.
A prompt response is highly appreciated, thank you.

Question on the s-off front. My wife had to take the update before I could stop it but she doesn't want s-off anyway. My question is if it is needed for anything I would want to do... Such as running a 4.2.2 Sense 5 port from the htc mini... I have the htc one and I know that there was no real good reason for s-off(i did it anyway of course...) but I also know each phone is a little different. So thus my question... Yes this is a bug with s-off. Not just the aftermarket s-off. This is even happening with factory s-off devices. Not really sure what is causing it. Sometime I will sit down and try to get a dmesg and logcat of it to determine what is going on.

Before I did anything I updated to the newest firmware. Then using twrp I created back ups and transfured them to my computer. I flash the Android Rev 4.3 not knowing it was GSM only. The phone never would go past the boot loader. So i restored from my twrp back up. All of my stuff came back but I had no service and after about a min the phone would reboot it self. So i did the factory wipe and have been trying to get a rom to flash since then. I was finally able to get one to load today but i still have the same no service/reboot issue, however now i can't access the menu. When i swipe up it just says HTC till it reboots it self.
I have resorted to using ADB to load roms I have even used super wipe with no changes. I'm out of ideas here.

Please forgive me as my flashing back to stock experience goes back to my Motorola Photon days. If I soft-bricked my device I would SBF (Motorola's RUU) back. Any version would work. Once I had the device reloaded I would then re-unlock and try again with my favorite choice of ROM.
Honestly at this point what do you have to lose? I would try any and all RUU's to try and un-brick your phone.

You better post this in the M7 thread. I don't know how much you messed up, maybe the ruu is not necessary, but as a last resource, taking for granted that your phone is a GSM model you can get s-off than change your CID and flash an unlocked or developer edition ruu.

We can talk here. It's a pretty simple procedure. Copy this file to your ADB folder(the one you used to unlock your bootloader) http://techerrata.com/file/twrp2/m7/openrecovery-twrp-2.6.3.3-m7.img
Make sure fastboot is unchecked in power options and turn phone completely off
Boot into bootloader than Fastboot
From fastboot.
Than open command prompt in this folder and type:
"fastboot erase cache"
From fastboot. Use command "fastboot flash recovery openrecovery-twrp-2.6.3.3-m7.img"
