[q] [B][/BSGH-I537 ROM REQUEST PLEASE URGENT!!!! - Galaxy S 4 Active Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

]Hi folks, I have a request and a question. I have 300+ pcs of s4 active(i537) they are for one of my customers, he wants me to remove all At&T bloatware and boot animation. We all know that will take all year to do 300+ phones. So I'm asking if anyone have or can modify a i537 stock rom removing all bloatware and logos so that i can just use odin to flash to all phones. thanks please let me know im willing to pay. its Very Urgent.
Now another questions is if possible can anyone make the gt-i9295(oem s4 active) fit on the i537? I would rather that it would make things much easier. Please PM me if anyone has an answer, please let me know cost and i will send to your paypal thank you again!!!

You will not be able to do anything that you've stated with the i537. The i537 has a locked bootloader so it can only flash things that have been signed by Samsung. The Odin files have been signed by Samsung, so that is why we are able to flash them; however once you modify the Odin package the signature will change and you will no longer be able to flash it to the i537.
As for flashing i9295 firmware to the i537, it is also impossible at the moment because the signatures don't match. Until somebody finds a workaround to the locked bootloader there's nothing you can do. You would be able to exactly what you are asking with the i9295 however since the bootloader is not locked.
I thought of one possible option though.
First you would have to root every phone manually, if they're on 4.2.2 it's going to be significantly faster than 4.3.
Install SafeStrap
Make a Nandroid backup of the rooted stock ROM with all the AT&T bloat removed.
Restore that Nandroid to the other 299 phones using SafeStrap.
Remove SafeStrap and unroot (remove SuperSU).
It's still going to take a ton of time but at least you don't have remove all the AT&T bloat manually.

Thanks for your quick reply, yeah i was doing what your mentioned above but mannnn thats a looonnggg process. Was hoping to find something faster
and some of the phones are 4.3 so you already know how long of a process it is to root that one. but i really appreciate your help if anymore quick advise it will be more than appreciated and as I said I will pay for anyones time and hard work. thanks again guys!!

[Q] How to Extract the VZW Tab files

I think I asked my question wrong on the first post.
Shortly I will have a factory fresh VZW tab. Given that from the posts a number of people are looking for pit files etc ... what tool can I use to extract the files for the VZW tab users ....
Any pointers or threads that I missed? Just hoping to help where I can because I won't leave it stock long LOL.
Thanks,
Tony
You can use roto backup to dump your firmware to odin flashable files. Look it up in the development section.
Thanks, just wanted to make sure I used the best method to grab the files. I will do some reading and make a good backup and share what I am able to pull off for the other VZW Taber's
Just a quick update .... I have the fresh Tab ... so I am going to follow Roto Hammers process for pulling the files and will try to get a heimdall and Odin fresh rom set for VZW Taber's ..... I will also see about hosting the files on my server so that they are available and will see if anyone else wants them as well.
If anyone needs something off a fresh tab ... please post or PM me and I will do what I can.... I'll leave it alone until Tuesday 8/2/11
Thanks again for the pointer!
Tony
Oh god, i hope you are serious about this. My verizon tab is stucked in the samsung logo for 3 weeks now.
You are probably my last chance .
If you can, please, please do it.. You will save a lot of people like me

You do know that the stock sprint roms work too.. to at least get you back up and running (3g doesn't work, but everything else is reported working fine)
Always good to have complete stock to fall back on though.
I heard that the 2.3 sprint firmware works on verizon tab. But i've tried the rooted version of it, which i found here in the forum, but still couldn't boot into the OS, it hangs on galaxy tab screen. Since you mentioned this, can i use the sprint pit file too?
Also, i forgot to mention, my tablet is cdma. Don't know if it makes any difference for using sprint firmware version

[Q] Bootloader Unlock Official 4.3 Question

Since we got the new official 4.3 update, that means we got a new bootloader with the update right? If so, does anyone know if anyone has tried to get this unlocked even though we had no success with 4.2.2? I don't know if I can help get it done or not cause I don't have much background with actually unlocking it but I'm willing to help if possible. :fingers-crossed: Might run into problems with KNOX though.. idk.

Hello,
I bought an unlocked Samsung S4 Active I537 from ATT, but I use it in Canada.
I have tried to use Goomanager, TWRP manager, safestrap, quickboot; but the phone goes back to the normal bootloader.
When I try to install a ROM from my SD card (by normal bootloader) it does not do anything at all; just stays on the same screen for a minute then reboots normally.
I am guessing the bootloader isnt unlocked.
What tips you got?
Thanks!

The bootloader is still locked and currently there's nothing you can do about it. If you want to follow the progress read through this thread.
I learned that the hard way

In advance: sorry to sound bitter; but wasn't fun how useless can be a device with a locked bootloader.
So the google apps stopped working and the whole thing is pretty much gone to hell/
IF samsung hadnt locked it so good (in a non-compliment kind of way) I could just install a new ROM and done, even better than with their weird touch wiz. But they locked it well so the phone is pretty much an average control remote in present time.
All samsung devices are locked like this one?
or that's their only garbage version ?
If that's the way they roll... no more Samsung phones ever for me.
There is a reason I stopped buying apple stuff... I dont like buying a device that is limited not because of its hardware, but because of the useless things a brand adds to make it useless. (like locking the bootloader)
Anyways... I am considering buying another phone for now.:silly:

The device is far from useless, you can still root and flash custom ROMs, just not CM or AOSP based ROMs. I've posted all the stock ROMs and instructions on how to flash them, so if you do mess up your phone you can always start from scratch.
To answer your question about all Samsung phones, pretty much all Samsung phones from the GS3 an later that were sold by AT&T and Verizon have locked bootloaders. Nearly all the international versions as well as T-Mobile versions are sold with an unlocked bootloader, so you don't necessarily need to boycott Samsung, you just need to be more careful when purchasing a Samsung phone in the future.

Hey there
Where did you post these ways of re installing all?
I saw many posts around here about reinstalling but I couldnt move on after they required the Samsung to do something through the bootloader.
Also there was a post to uninstall using Odin, but the post had missing files so couldnt do it.
Keep me posted!

Have you tried flashing any of the OneClick packages? They should still work since you have a locked bootloader.

No Devo7v, through my roughly 15 hours of internet research I have not come across a 1 click fix. Just when I thought I was getting good and learning how to move around the android system I bricked. I don't mind paying for my mistakes and learning from them, but I do definitely not want to have to purchase a new phone. I bought the active because it was compact with a descent size screen, nice hardware, remote control, hdmi to tv and I liked the waterproof dustproof feature that I never even tried because I don't trust how waterproof this phone really is. I think It is a great phone when up and running.
P.S. I really appreciate your quick knowledgable response.

I suggest choosing which firmware you would like to flash from the i537 Firmware Thread, download it, and flash it with Odin. If you're currently on ML2, your only option is to reflash ML2 since the ML2 bootloader will not allow you to downgrade to any other version. Before you do anything I would do a little research on Odin so you understand how it works. Far and away, most people that have bricked their phones did it by using Odin incorrectly.

Yes you are most likely correct. I just might be trying to read the wrong software from sd. The times I've tried I get authorization errors.

I will definitely read up on odin. My phone is currently at 2nd local cell repair store this week. I called them to have it ready for pick up if they cant fix it today, which I have my doubts. They usually are just phone salespeople that can do a typical flash or change a screen. So this evening or tomorrow morning I will give your recommendation a shot. And when I do and my phone is back up and running I will gladly donate funds to your site or directly to you. I will shoot you a pm tomorrow to touch base.....I should have went this route before I tried these useless cell phone stores around here. I'm sure this post will help many others too....

You don't need to worry about donating anything, I actually have never accepted donations. If you want to send some money, please send it to a charity you feel is worthwhile. If you really want to pay me back, please read as much as you can on everything and try to help others out when they ask questions or need help. The S4 Active is a small community, so we need as many people contributing to the forums as possible.
If you run into trouble with Odin or anything, let me know.

Thank you so much, like I expected repair store was unable to fix my phone. I took it home and was up and running in 5 minutes with the 1 click fix.
Your the man......I am now researching uprading to 4.3.. I am still however having this issue of apps not working after moving them to sd card....Are there any app to sd apps you prefer over others, I'm not sure where the issue is arising from.

Flashing 4.3 isn't that much harder then flashing the one-click, you just need to read and make sure you put things in the right spot.
As for apps top SD, I don't move my apps so I really can't give you much advice.

[Q] FlashFire: Current Binary

Hi, thank you very much for reading!
I've been playing around with my new Verizon Edge 6. I had no problems obtaining root, though I'm not an Android expert whatsoever. More of a good at following clear instructions kind of guy, I guess.
Anyway, I haven't been able to flash it much else than the stock rom. Whatever else I try flashing does end up booting, but the phone won't recognize my SIM Card at all no matter what I try (I know I could likely try some more stuff, but I have no idea). When I flash the stock one back in, it behaves flawlessly again.
My guess is that this has something to do with my Current Binary Status in FlashFire being "Unknown" when it should read "Official". And my question is if you know how what the easiest way to get it that way and if you could pretty please point me out where I can get the files I'll need.
Thank you VERY much in advance!

Binary status in Flashfire will read unknown for all Verizon S6/edge variants, due to the bootloader being protected.
I am not sure where your problem comes from exactly. Are you on OC3 firmware, and trying to flash an OE2 rom/package? If not, could you be more specific on what your flashing in FF, and what firmware your on?

My apologies por taking so long to reply. I had no trouble installing the Firmware I wanted right after reading your post. It was in fact trying to flash an OC2 on a OC3 Firmware. I was too embarrassed to admit I had in fact no idea what I was talking about. I humbly recognize now my ignorance, stupidity and stubborness. Thank you very much for your prompt help!

Cross Flashing Tmobile firmware to ATT Note 3 SM-N900A

Hi Everyone, If this is the wrong place to post this plz MODERATORS move it to correct place..
Ok so we all know what safestrap is, and that it's not TWRP really...
We also know that the bootloader on the SM-N900A isn't unlockable...
So I usually develop stuff for LG devices, but I got hands on an old Note 3 from At&t and want to
find a way to get past the limitations of Safestrap and the roms are all mostly lollipop K.K or J.B based.
without the bootloader unlocked we can't change the kernel away from stock...
Well I've been reading some things in reddit about S8 and S8+ etc.
and supposedly they have patched Odin not to check model numbers etc.
same with S9 see here:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s9/how-to/how-to-flash-u1-firmware-to-device-t3765200
and so what I'm thinking is...
The modded/patched Odin has the model-ID and SHA hash check disabled, therefore allowing you to flash an unbranded "U1" firmware onto a branded "U" phone and vice versa.
As of now this works on most US Qualcom (QC) models, but an increasing number of international Exynos (EX) models now include a new RMM security which prevents this kind of cross-flashing unless you first disable the RMM, by flashing an RMM-Disabler package through TWRP.

if we use this method to flash the tmobile branded firmware for the note 3 will we then be able to simply boot to TWRP This device has no fastboot...
If this seems like a really bad stupid Idea please say so and explain exactly why.
If this seems like it might work please explain how and why.
If you have tried this please let me know what the outcome was.
Thanks for reading
just looking for more input before I FRY a thousand dollar phone
old as it is it's still nice.

you may be correct, but I just wanted experienced dev's to talk to about this and If I post on at&t specific threads, I'll likely have to tell a bunch of noobs that NO i haven't tried it yet { about to } and that no this isn't yet a bootloader unlock.
I wanted to discuss this with seasoned Devs such as @jcase
Any thoughts?

Well It's turned to a dead end, and I no longer believe it possible.
I can confirm flashing the modem.bin to modem partition resulted in soft-brick
so i'm scared to try flashing the boot aboot sbl etc.
I'm now looking for a way to possibly boot a modified second
boot.img through a boot hijack, to enable me to use something like EFIdroid to boot custom roms...
