[Q] Galaxy S3 no sound during calls - Galaxy S III Mini Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Speakers and mic do not work during gsm phone calls but work perfectly for internet calls. Flashed a custom rom and still won't work. Any fix for this? And I'd like to know of there's any phone app that can make calls without using the stock phone app to place the call.

[Q] help with my in call issues on samsung note n7000

I've been using my samsung note GT-N7000 for a couple of months now and everything was fine, until i installed the Android 4.1.2 update (Build number: N7000XXLSO).Then my NOTE has problems with phone call as follows:Incoming call:- I can hear phone ring as normal- But i can't hear anything when i pick up the phone, and the caller also can't hear me.*Outgoing call:- There is no dial sound, it does make a phone call, BUT the person i called couldn't hear me, and i also couldn't hear them.*- I also tried using headphone, still can't hear anything.*Apps call:I tried call via apps such as Line, Skype, VIBER and oovoo it works fine. Therefore, i don't think it's the hardware e.g. mic or speakers issues.I don't know what happen to my Note all the sudden. Is this the software problem i.e. due to the android 4.1.2 update?? *Please advise how to solve this problem. Appreciate your help in advance! Thank you.
Its a software issue ... plz download the latest software updates from sammobile or update ur fone via ota in settings of your fone

Hey! last nigth i had to set the alarm clock in Chinese languaje. It was a little difficult but today i changed it to Spanish. Now that i'm in the computer, i did contact my network provider (Movistar Argentina), and they restarted my line, and made me reboot the Phone. After that, it got Fixed.
IT WASN'T A PHONE PROBLEM! it was a NETWORK Problem.
this solution may help somebody else.

T-mobiles WiFi calling alternatives for the Nexus 4

OK guys, we already have a thread that is a work in progress trying to port TMOBILES WiFi calling to our device. Now I would like to see what other people have done to compensate for not having the T-Mobile app. What are the best 3rd party apps that work good for you and can you both make and receive calls using them?
Feel free to post any alternative to the T-mobile wifi calling app that has worked for you.
If you are interested in the progress of the port of T-mobiles WiFi calling app then you may visit here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2012468
Thanks goes to whosdaman for the above thread.

I've tried a combination of Google voice and the paid version of groove ip and the call quality was horrible. The person I called could barley understand me. This is very frustrating.

Talkatone...
Obitalk VOIP box as a landline replacement/cell relay.
Sipdroid/PBX
I went on ebay and bought a wifi calling enabled phone for the time being....I cant not have service at my dorm room.
Google voice with talks tone.

A dirty workaround is using google talk video chat and choosing handset speaker. It sucks, doesn't use the actual phone number, but does function if you're desperate.
Just tried talkatone, it worked but there is like a three second delay when talking.. It's weird. Call quality ok. How do I get good quality Internet calls?

Which one did you get? I'm in a similar boat trying to find a cheap phone just for use when I'm at home.
Look for 2 threads started by acegolfer, these will help you the most. One is called free voip calling w/iLBC codec and the other is something along the lines of Piaf with amazon ec2 or ew2. Not necessarily these easiest ways but from what I can tell they are probably some of the best. The first thread I mentioned also has a comparison of the most popular ways. Hope this helps some.
edit: there is also the Vonage app that has ok quality but you can only make calls and not receive them.

The Obi app in the google store, and then google voice.
Free incoming and outgoing wifi calls.
All you need is your username and password. Then just log on and your all set.
NOTHING TO CONFIGURE.

This is what I've been using on my gn, n7, and now n4.
It's made to totally emulate Wi-Fi calling

I got an HTC T-Mobile G2 out of pure need of wifi calling. Screen was cracked got it off ebay for like $25. There was just no way I could go on like this.

Thanks for the reply. I've been looking on eBay but I don't want to pay $80-$100 for something like this. Looks like I can pick up a G2 cheap.

Vonage. Can't get incoming calls unless you subscribe, but free wifi/3g calling is awesome. The codec they use is HD (speex I believe) and is the best ever.
If someone calls you, just call them right back on the Vonage app. It's the best. Avoid talkatone/grooveip and the other "VOIP" apps. They are echo/delay city.
Vonage is free. Doesn't require you to be a Vonage subscriber. Just install it, use voice/text confirmation of your number, enroll and you're done.

[Q] Visual Voicemail APK

Hey, folks.
Does anyone here have the APK for the sprint Visual Voicemail ap? I just installed Cyanogenmod 11, and I'm really missing my visual voicemail. It's a mild pain to have to call my own phone number and listen to my voicemail after being used to the visual interface.
Thanks in advance!

Thanks a bunch. Are you running CM 11? If so, have you had problems with cellular data? WiFi connects fine, but I don't seem to be able to get any cell data signal.

I am not on cm11, even most sense roms that I have tried don't have working vvm. Try updating to newest radios for the data issues.

@hawknest just released a 4.4.2 sense rom with vvm working.

Vvm appears to work with that apk, but no data even with new radio. May have to try that 4.4.2 sense ROM.

No sound on incoming call...Help!!!

Hey y'all I have the Tmobile flex.
It's rooted stock.
So when I get incoming calls I can't hear anyone but they can hear me. I have to call them back so we can continue the convo. It's seriously driving me crazy.
When Bluetooth is connected I can answer the call but it's still a 50/50 chance I might not be able to hear them.
Idk what to do..
