Hi,
I returned my Bell HTC One to stock to get the official firmware, radios and Sense 6 of course. I noticed that there is no option in the development options to enable ART.
Since I am stock and probably odexed, should I not have the option to use ART? It's possible that only the M8 has that option and not the M7 but I would think that is unlikely.
Thanks.

I've been playing around with my new HTC one and a couple different ROMs. However, the camera is what really made me get the phone and the stock camera app is **** with the ONE's camera. Are there any unlocked ROMS that killed the blink-tiles but maintained the camera app? And, alternatively (and to know for the future) where the heck do I found the stock Sense ROMs? I have a backup of the original Sense ROM, but it's not of much use, as Clockworkmod prevents it from auto-updating :/
I am confused,
you said the stock camera app is **** with the ONE's camera.
Then you asked for a Rom without blinkfeed, but with the stock camera?
Am I not seeing something? or is there something you forgot to type?
Lol. I would suggest ARHD. Blinkfeed is there, but still, AMAZING rom. ofcourse, you could flash a GE rom like the GE version of ARHD or Trickdroid, and then install this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=2094435&d=1373040505
Credits go to @aaronlam for getting it to work on GE roms.
cheers!
I bought this 32 GB HTC One T-Mobile phone which is unlocked, and will be here in a few days. It IS an M7, right? It has rooted stock firmware (not sure if Sense or AOSP) but will probably flash a custom ROM. I read up on the Google Edition bootloader/recovery, and read Vomer's guide as well. I'm not sure if I need to do the whole GE process before I flash a GE ROM, or which GE/AOSP ROM I should go with. It seems like most of them are Sense, so which ones are AOSP?
The one original android development forum is the asop Roms .
There are GE versions that will work with your current setup. The only reason to "convert to the GE version is for official ota updates.

The what? Oh, you mean the ORIGINAL One forums has AOSP ROMs? How do you tell the difference between the original One and the 2013 model?
How often are there OTA updates? Those are usually compiled into current custom ROMs, right?
In the case of the HTC One, would Sense be better over AOSP (not just because of the camera)? It would seem there are more Sense-based ROMs than AOKP/AOSP ones. I also see a few Sense/GE ROMs. What exactly does that mean? Is it just Sense with the additional AOSP settings and options? If I wanted the best camera, should I just stick with Sense?

There is a android dev and there is an original dev. Read up on the stickies and you'll get an explanation, after you read ask questions with direction so users won't have to type up 2-3 paragraphs explaining everything out .

Stock Sense 5 is very good. You can try AOSP ROMs and see if you don't miss the Sense features. The camera app has been ported to AOSP if I remember well so you don't loose Zoe/Highlights.
I'm stock and haven't planned on going o AOSP or other custom ROMs because I'm more than happy with Sense 5, except some things here and there, but the same can be said about any other ROM. the one thing I change was the launcher. It's good, but not as flexible as Nova, specially for adding more columns/rows to home screens.
I hated the Sense 6 update so much I have rolled back. The only things I enjoyed with it were the camera, theme functions, and a small handful of other APKs it came with. Is it possible to find the APKs of ones choosing from Sense 6, install them on Sense 5.5, and have them work? I run ViperOne ROM 5.8.0, KK 4.4.2 on ATT HTC one.

That was pretty straight forward. Is it basically that older Sense APKs can go to new versions of Sense, but not vice versa?
It may seem that when I do decide to upgrade again I will need to try a different ROM. I've used ViperOne for a long time now and never had any problems, but with this update something definitely was causing several conflicts on my phone.

Custom roms can do that. If you flash a custom or. You have to remember they are all beta
I'm using a Sprint HTC One m7, rooted with stock ROM (Android KitKat 4.4.2) and Xposed Framework, TWRP recovery and paid version of Titanium Backup. I'd like to try out the WakeGestures function in the Sense 6 Toolbox, but it advises me I need ElementalX 14.7 or greater Kernal.
I poked around here at XDA and found that the latest version of ElementalX for the Sprint HTC One m7 is 13.1 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2295596). My question is, if I flash The kernal, will I be able to use wakegestures, or do I need to wait for the kernal developer to update the Sprint version of ElementalX to 14.7 or greater?

The wake gestures work with that kernel "out of the box" without the use of sense toolbox, you will select which ones you want to use during the aroma installer.

One other thing. Does flashing a new kernal result in the loss of any data? Never flashed one before. Is there a way to back up my current kernal using any of the tools I mentioned in my first post?

Nevermind. Answered my own question with the search function. Thanks.
Hello all,
Forgive my eyesight, I have searched and searched but is there a working modpack for the stock GPE 5.0.1 rom that would add battery %, center clock and a few other goodies thrown in?
I see a few popping up for Sense roms and I did find one in Golvs deodexed rom but that mod was causing problems on the odexed stock rom (stayed on booting up animation).
Lyapota has one for the M8 5.0.1 I believe.
Thank you.
Here maybe?...i dont use gpe so i dont know for sure.from last page go backward, theres a lot for gpe stuff.
