[Q] Computer won't recognize fastboot USB - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi guys, I recently screwed up flashing a new ROM and now I can't boot into recovery so I'm trying to flash a new twrp via fastboot. However, upon plugging in my HTC one I see fastboot USB yet no toolkits show that it is plugged in or recognized. I have installed various drivers and also the HTC sync manager however I still can't seem to flash my recovery.
My model is an international one and sadly it is S-ON, bootloader unlocked and rooted, HBOOT 1.44.
Any help would be appreciated.

Fastboot flash wcx recovery. Boot to wcx recovery. Then find the rooting option. It should work.

Thanks must not be seeing it as option to root. Will give another go after work. And also what is meant by "s-off" and "s-on" and how does it effect function of devise post root?

Security off or on. As far as I know, it lets you flash kernels from recovery instead of having to flash in fastboot mode with adb.
And my noobness gets worse.....what's the dif between a kernal and a Rom?

What state was your phone in before you installed it? S-off etc?
Is it doing absolutely nothing? No lights etc?
Does your pc recognise the device?

[Q] [TOOL] HTC One (M7) All-In-One Toolkit V1.0 [PERM ROOT][Noob-Proof] - help

I've tried the noob proof *cough* tool/method, but i'm not sure where i'm going wong. The bootloader is unlocked (M7), and I've permroot which inititally says error:device not found (usb debug mode enabled) . When I check if device is rooted I'm still being told it's not. Any help will be appreciated.
*SORTED* .. suspect HTCSync was causing a conflict, phone was rebooting when selecting recover option from bootloader.
Thank you

This thread. This topic. I'm not filled with hope.
What do you mean, "Anytime I try to turn it off it goes to fastboot mode"? Did you flash recovery.img? How did you mess up unlocking the bootloader it couldn't be easier.
Unlocked boot loader all right. It was the rooting which was the problem. I tried and tried and when I couldn't do it. I relocked the bootloader. The phon is working alright but sometimes when I want to turn the phone off especially when I am in meetings it just won't go off. It goes to fastboot mode

Is your bootloader unlocked? Where did this recovery come from?

No the bootloader is LOCKED as I was told you could still flash recovery when it's locked. And the stock recovery is from Guru Reset Tool.

Ok.. then unlock bootloader, root the phone, flash stock recovery and lock bootloader using http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2477792, and then unroot.
Additionally, you can unlock bootloader, flash stock recovery, and then issue fastboot oem lock (this will give you RELOCKED) bootloader. No need to root/unroot..
