Thanks ,
Glad you liked it.
I Hope Developers will like it and post their stuffs there as well
Its a nice blog, but Im not sure I understand what the purpose of the blog would be.
I mean, all the info you want to put on it, are allready here in this forum. I cant really see any benefit of having it on the blog also, and I cant really see why developers etc. should have an interest in having to update both in this forum and on your blog also. It only means more work. In regards to users, they would propably still go here first, because this would still be the place where info are posted first, and then they would not need to visit the blog afterwards anyways. And if some users would prefer to use the blog and its forum first, then all we achieve is information being scattered on different sites which isnt a benefit to anyone.
So the blog looks nice and all, no criticism there, but it seems slightly redundant to have it imho.

Yes you are right
but we all know that blog has better SEO so there will be more visibility of the stuffs
and writing in blog is much more easier than Forum. so it will not take that much effort as you just have to copy and paste
Having everything about Lg Optimus 2x / G2x in one Blog will rather organize everything than scattering it
which is definitely a benefit to both Reader and Publisher
I did like it very much I have bookmarked it and will be reading it every day. I just hope you update it often.
I like this idea of having new information and releases in the blog, saves scouring the forum every day and information is better ordered

And yes I totally agree with you
I assume the primary initiators of this rom have had this discussion but one thing I'd like to see is "this is the place where we talk about things."
Taking cues from other major rom projects you'll get a decent user base in using several forums or social services and some places get overwhelming or spread to thin.
Examples: a rom site having their own forum which doesn't get laid out properly and never gets used anyways. then an xda subforum along with a device-specific thread in each device's subforum. Then an omnirom wiki, an xda wiki, an irc channel, Google+/Twitter/Facebook trifecta, androidcentral, rootzwiki and a few others, jira, gerritt, mailing list, hangout...
You get the idea.
Social media sites aren't going away- personally Twitter and Facebook for a rom seem frivolous.
Mailing lists and irc are antiquated unless developers want a quiet place to talk. The many forum thing just seems onerous and duplicated. I dunno. I like a wiki, this subforum but broken down as necessary, jira, gerritt, and whoever wants to tackle the social trifecta can do that.
Basically, you can see what things I'm saying could get dropped or consolidated. I think this rom has that in mind and I could see it growing fastest knowing where to go.
And, personally, after using Arch Linux, their wiki is freakin' impressive. I've rarely had to turn anywhere else.
If omnirom broke the mold and had an awesome wiki that developers and active users maintained for device specific statuses, feature descriptions and statuses, etc. it would eliminate clutter.
Just my thoughts but it needs support. I guess you'd have to use Arch Linux to even know how impressive it is. Cyanogenmod did a pretty good job starting their wiki but it sort of slowed down. I think their wiki actually helped them get to being the most popular rom because of the wiki because of how much it offered for the new tinkerer.
So ultimately you are suggesting a solid wiki. Great. Help us do so by contributing to docs.omnirom.org
Sent from my SM-N900T using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
As a general Linux user the Arch wiki is still incredibly useful. I agree that wiki format is probably the best for conveying information about a ROM, the hard part is just getting people to keep it up to date and accurate. It'll be good if for instance each device had a wiki page that is kept up to date with known issues and workarounds. I feel though that the forum/discussion needs to be integrated with the wiki somehow for maximum effectiveness, because otherwise you often get a situation here on xda where a thread OP is filled with all sorts of useful, even up to date information, and yet people ignore it and ask questions that are covered there. So it's partly a social problem and partly a UI problem IMO. Anyway, just my random additional thoughts, agreed on the importance of a good wiki.
Well, I've taken it to heart and looking at the wiki more. Right now Last night I walked through the build instructions for the n4 but fell asleep during the repo sync. I've always wondered why projects have you download every old sdk. I guess it's in case you can't get them from Google? Seems unnecessary. I guess I can find out how to omit them from syncing. Those types of tips are interesting to me. I'm sure some things with development wouldn't seem quite as overwhelming if a repo was tiny.

There is a flag for repo to only download the current branch. Might be worth using

It is always an interesting questions of user dynamics, as to where people go.
I, for one, refuse to really use any of the social networks for this myself, as they're really not cut out for the task. They're also generally closed platforms that want to erode your right to privacy, and simply use you as a money making tool.
Aside from that though, social networks aren't ideal for hierarchical organisation. Right now there are a few things to consider.
There must be a code review platform for reviewing and approving code submissions. This will be separate from the others and most likely be gerrit. You can't replace that with a wiki or anything else.
You also need a proper bug tracking and project management area. That's jira. As omni is about having an open direction, it's important we can have road maps visible for comment and discussion and improvement. It is also important to ensure that the bug reporting and project management area has enough functionality long term. The only feasible way to do that is with dedicated software.
In terms of irc, it is most definitely not antiquated in the open source development community. If anything it is highly active, and often better than the modern alternatives, as it is an open standard allowing you to use any client software you please. It is also pleasantly simple and allows for real time group collaboration.
The big plan for omni is proper documentation though. That's where the wiki comes in. Not just of user information, but of developer information to help new developers.

About Carbon
CarbonRom is an aftermarket firmware based on the Android Open Source Project. We are dedicated to fast, stable, and feature-filled roms, honesty and communication with our users, and openness with our code. We like frequent builds, with the very latest and greatest hardware support and fixes. Please feel free to look at, build, and use our code on CarbonDev GitHub. and on our Gerrit CarbonDev Gerrit.
We would like to thank CyanogenMod for their device trees, framework/settings mods and their code that was incorporated into this project. We also extend our gratitude to the devs whose code that we have incorporated. Proper authorship has been maintained and can be viewed on our repository.
Special thanks also go to Slim Rom for some of their features, PA, AOKP, and anyone else we may have borrowed commits from that hasn't been mentioned here. If you feel you have been unfairly left out, please - let us know.

Support
We spend an astonishing amount of time developing this software. We can't spend much time on XDA as a result, so if you need support, please try the following:
1) Search. Search, search, search. Yes, you. I don't care how unique or important your question is, it's very likely someone has adressed it already. Especially if you're even close to new at this.
2) Read our FAQ, which can be found on our website. Carbon FAQ
3) Ask a question in your device forum. Someone will no doubt try to help you. Warning: this help may come in the form of telling you it's a dumb question that has been asked before. See step 1 - such are the perils of asking questions when you haven't done the research yourself. Android is about helping yourself.
4) Ask a question on our IRC channel. Connect to #teamcarbon on irc.freenode.net or click here. You'll find several other Carbon fans and usually one or more devs as well. Please be polite.
Who is Team Carbon?

Carbon Team
Remember, every penny you send to us goes right back into the rom. It's used for hardware, server costs, etc - all the things that help us make Carbon better with every release. Your support means the world to us! If you've enjoyed Carbon, please consider a donation toward this goal. Thank you, and we hope you continue to enjoy Carbon!

If you're using multiple apps to control it DON'T.
They are more than likely conflicting. NoFrills was the one recommended to me that I found was able to 'lock' the frequencies in the best.

I just reflashed the latest official clean (which is a few days behind for my device) and min 384, max 1512 in the built-in performance settings...
Not sure what to recommend at this point.
I didn't notice looking back through the posts if you mentioned you were flashing clean or dirty... I might have assumed poorly, you are clean flashing this?
The 2/2 nightly killed the bluetooth audio info for my car, going to see if 2/4 fixed it. I still have the occasional RAM problems/app killing but I've learned to live with it.

I saw some people talking about AVRCP or w/e that protocol is on the CM gerrit... I think it's an upstream issue.

Indeed, this is an upstream issue.
I don't have any devices which use AVRCP, so I apologize I cannot test it at all.
I'm going to give this another try. Can I use your CM11 kernel as I enjoy the higher processing power?

DISCLAMIER: Nothing of this work is mine. I just found it searching on the internet. Please give credit to the original authors listed at the bottom of the page
First of all, sorry if my english is not perfect.
Let's start saying that I was looking around for a sort of port/mod of the Pixel 2 now playing feature to be installed on my og pixel, and today I found this: Pixel 2 Features
Now, I clearly read the this project is still in development, but I also notice that it's was inactive for a year.
I know the developer Quinny898 which has looked around the sources, I saw some other works he made in this community and have read some articles here on xda.
I found a similar project of Now playing in the CypherOS rom, in the PixelDust rom, and some development activities around the web, but still no valid apk or module.
Now that I found this, it looks like some of the source (if not all) was published in that repo.
I searched for a public version of this module here on xda and around the web but I didn't found any.
My question is if this is a valid source to be used, if it was just stopped because there is no possibility of continuing the project or if someone is able to continue the development/build a working module.
This could really be a good starting point.
Hope for some clarifications about, would love to see that feature finally ported for other devices than pixel 2/3.
Thank you.
The PE dev actually published this app in the Play Store for easier updates. But I think it's not possible to add this feature without modifying the whole ROM.

This was the situation with Lenovo p2. But dev's eventually got in and now they have a great development curve.... the p2 users donated money for one dev to buy p2 for development and well. That was initiated by a user. And development kickstarted soon after.

But first, we need to organize users who would be able and willing to donate. Once enough people are there and we can figure out on total if the amount offered is sufficient enough, we can start contacting dev's. After we have a dev ready to help, then start pooling in money and purchase the set and send ot to the dev.

just a heads up. according to XDA rules. donation threads have to be created by the developer itself who is interested in the device development. he has to green lit such a thread with an XDA admin. if it gets created by forum users it gets closed pretty soon as it is against the rules.
so first step would be finding an recognized developer willing to spend his free time on the device.

two options comes to mind.
A: look into devs that were or still are maintaining Samsung (Snapdragon based) phones and might be interested in the A70.
B: look into devs that maintain a device that has the same SoC (or SoC family) as those devs will have less than half as much work (it does depend on how far the kernel deviated from code aurora code) to maintain a second device if they have already established the knowledge on the primary device.
E.T.A. Unknown..

The Operative Phrase Here Is: "Still Maintaining Samsung (Snapdragon Based) Phones".
In the U.S... Samsung Snapdragon devices have their bootloaders locked down.. ( Per Carrier's Request ) so you have Zero ROM Development..
IMO.. you have to love this device for what it brings to the table stock ( Widvine L1, Themes, AR Emoji, UI, Gaming etc ) just in case nothing Custom sprouts..
