[Q]Reinstall dual recovery. - Xperia Z1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello People!
While installing some tools, i somehow lost dual recovery. So it boots straight into android, without the 2 vibrations etc. Now my question: Is it ok to reinstall it using the tool on my pc, without getting into bootloops or something?
Thanks for the answer!

Ok it worked.
It had a warning message tho. app_process has text relocations. This is wasting memory and is a security risk. Please fix.
So how can i fix this?
I just hope its nothing serious.

Just wipe cache and dalvik from recovery, if that won't to the job then you'll have to wipe data as well.
If you have backup, wipe data, restart to recovery, go to restire, advance restore and restore data only...

Well, that's the thing. I just had that error after flashing the recovery through windows. So it's not really bothering me. Perhaps i should ask it in the xzdr thread. Thanks for answering!

Phone Info wont go away

Hi all,
Does any one know how to get rid of this text? It happened after i flashed a pre rooted rom and i have gone back to stock and it is still there.
Thanks
You have looked over developer options and what gives there? Factory reset does not help? Or maybe you should give it a try with CWM recovery and wipe cache and dalvik cache?

Same thing happened to me today, but a little bit more messed up :/
Computer just died in the middle of flash!!
Had no phone info or internal storage. Nothing worked.
Couldn't install anything as I didn't have internal storage.
For some reason i couldn't get any filetransfer to external sd to work.
Nothing I flashed with odin didn't help either.
Could not restore efs from previous made backup.
I finally found mmcblk0p11.img & mmcblk0p12.img and was able to restore efs & modemfs partitions
Code:
adb push mmcblk0p12.img /storage/extSdCard/mmcblk0p12.img
adb push mmcblk0p11.img /storage/extSdCard/mmcblk0p11.img
adb shell
dd if=/storage/extSdCard/mmcblk0p12.img of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p12
dd if=/storage/extSdCard/mmcblk0p11.img of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p11
exit
All good now

[Solved] Recoveries not really working on CWM

Hi everyone!
I'm still a newbie arround here, so i will have to tell you all the steps i did until i got the problem.
So i did the following: I have stock rom (4.0.4) and BaseBand, i've rooted the phone using NVFlash method (using All-in-One Toolkit by SpyrosK) and i've replaced the Stock ICS BootLoader also using the AIO Toolkit. The phone was working great and all but after some weeks it started getting slow and i though about doing a factory recovery. So I tried the backup normally. Went to the menu then settings> backup and reset> factory data reset. After the reboot the normal LG logo showed and then the following: "Unfortunatly, the process com.android.phone has stopped" and behind this text box it has: "Encryptation unsuccessful
Encryptation was interrupted and can't complete. As a result, the data on your phone is no longer accessible. To resume using your phone, you must perform a factory reset[...]" and it has a reset phone button but i can't acess it because the text window is on top.
After I got this I tough about giving a try to CWM(v6.0.2.5) recovery. So i tried the following: wipe cache partition, wipe cache partition, wipe dalvik cache and fix permissions and tried the reboot but the same problem still persists...
Can anyone help me? This doesn't seem like a brick to me and it was supposed to be a factory reset but isn't correctly working. What can I do to fix this?
Tell me if you have any question or if you need a picture of the screen i get when i boot the phone. Than you very much.
Edit: Already tried to change my recovery image, still have the same problem...Was thinking in installing the stock rom again via CWM. Is it a good ideia? Will it fix?
In CWM there is a factory reset too (something like wipe data/factory reset). That should do the trick (but I'm afraid you'll have to set up from scratch again). Otherwise you'll have to wipe everything (including format /system) and flash the ROM again...

Tried that wipe data/factory reset too. It did'nt work either. Maybe I'll go for the full wipe and try the stock rom again. Thank you for the help
I am sorry to hear. Why don't you try flashing another ROM, just to test? For example pengus' CM10 equivalent http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2058231? It is very stable. Remember to update to last Kowalski kernel (by flashing after flash of ROM). May I suggest M1 norh (without ram hack)...
PS You need to be on new bootloader - see instructions in thread. If you have problems with the CM10 camera, you can flash CM10v3 by feav http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2163473

Was probably this! When i wrote the reply i tried using the option of replacing the Stock locked to the new one and this did not fixed.
So after i tried the option "Repartition your device with preferred layout and bootloader. Had to get another rom after and got the stock rom again, but i'll give a try to the one oneearleft suggested. Thank you very much. I've learned a lot with this!
Cheerz and keep up the good work!

Bootloop after backup

Could use some advice here guys. I'm stuck in bootloop from simply backing up my system. It seems anything I do in twrp other than doing a reflash of the Rom and gapps is bootlooping me. Again I can flash fresh and start over but I can't do anything else in twrp without a loop. I even tried restoring the phone to the backup that I made just before the loop

From bootloader, enter the following fastboot command:
fastboot format cache
See if that helps.

Nope. All I did was clean flash. I don't know what happened. It happened during the backup though, that's all I know. Had to clean flash to get back up and running. Also, it was rastapop that it happened to. I am running euphoria now.

Please help with endless boot loop animation.

My phone was unlocked and rooted but running the factory 5.1 ROM. I had a 5.1.1 update this morning but it erred during install. I removed the root using Kingo Root and that's when the endless boot looping began. It appears as if my phone now both locked and unrooted but won't complete the boot process.
I tried unlocking the phone again using Nexus Root Toolkit but it tries to boot the phone, so I can turn on USB Debugging maybe, which doesn't work so I can't find a way to unlock my phone at this point.
I tried flashing a factory image using Nexus Root Toolkit and get the below errors. Nothing changes after completion.
TWRP will not install, I assume because the phone is currently locked.
Can somebody please give me some options to try? I'll do whatever works. I don't mind stock rom, I don't mind a custom ROM. Anything that works is OK with me.
I would love to get TWRP on there if possible.
I think my first step should be to get the phone unlocked again but is there a way to do it with a phone that boot loops constantly?
Thanks.
Also, doing a wipe and reset in recovery didn't help at all.
If fastboot format userdata and cache doesn't fix it, there's nothing you can do.
This is the image I get when I try to unlock using Nexus Root Toolkit. Obviously the boot loop starts and I'm unable to complete the unlocking procedure.

Think what you will. But the answer is no.
I have two options in recovery; Wipe Cache Partition & Wipe Data/Factory Reset.
I've done both and it still boot loops.
So this phone needs to go in to the shop for service?

If you don't even know what phone this is, please stop giving advice and leave it to the people who know the phone and the options.
1) following incorrect and useless advice wastes time
2) it detracts from real advice
3) is dangerous

It appears that the boot loop is still present after fastboot formats.
There is nothing else I can try, correct?
If not, I'll take it in.

I messed up Help

OK I was going to give my Nexus 6 to my brother I got a new phone. So I was going to flash a rom and let him start fresh. Well when I was going to wipe I stupidity wiped internal memory. So now the phone is empty? I did not exit out of recovery so I am still in there is there any thing I can do? Even if I have to go back to stock without root that's fine?

But flashing a factory image is also an option.

Just remain in recovery mode, download the ROM provided or any other you wish. If you want to get it to stock, that requires fastboot which is up to you depending on the time you have as well as the proper drivers installed on your PC. But anyway, easiest method is to transfer that ROM to your device and flash it from your recovery along with gapps. Afterwards, you can uninstall SuperSU and you won't have root anymore
Your problem will be solved within 10 minutes tops

Man, just reboot to the bootloader and flash manually the latest factory mage. If you don't know and don't care to learn, use nexus root toolkit and be happy.
