My new HTC Dream

Hi there, I have just gotten myself a HTC Dream(Singtel) and I want to upgrade my firmware to Cyanogenmod. May I know how do I go about doing it?
Do I first root my phone first or what?

Its all good though man.. just read up on ROOT, SPLS and Requirements.. if you read the guide on how to root your phone, you SHOULD be up and running the latest cyanogen mod rom within the next half an hour.. be sure to READ the directions carefully.. and if your not sure about something, scroll through some of the posts in the thread.. 9 xs out of 10 someone has asked your question, and has received an answer... if there are too many pages to read, like let's say maybe 40 or more, jus go to google, and search for your problem.. this site plus some others may pop up and offer you some help.. good luck and welcome to the community !

go to youtube in a few days and check out emogamers tag and in a few days or so he'll have my videos of everything but there are alot of things to do already

Follow these tutorials... 1 at a time:
1. Root: http://www.myhangoutonline.com/tutorials/g1/how-to-root-your-g1
2. Upgrade Recovery, Radio & SPL: http://www.myhangoutonline.com/tutorials/g1/upgrade-your-g1-recovery-image-radio-and-spl
Once you're done with that... you can go find a ROM you like and flash it... Enjoy!

[Q] How to change mainver(solved)

I was playing around with IncS main version downgrade toolkit v3.1
first it asked me if my phone is rooted then i hit y
then it changed my mainver from 2.12.720.5 to 2.00.000.0
how can i revert to previous mainver.

good news is i found a way in rezound forums
just flashed this zip. mainver changed.

HTC Asia WWE ICS ROM link ! :)

Hey guys, I had a problem with my phone before this where the screen just stays black after the HTC boot screen.
Where the solution is to relock your bootloader and install your region's RUU.
This is the ROM for CID : HTC_044 which took me RREEAALLLYYY BLOOODDYYY LONG to find. ( I couldn't find this on ANY thread on this forum )
I just thought that i should share it here in case any of you need it.
Since I'm a new member with a post count lower than 10... i can't post a thread on the development areas. (Hmm, seems like I can't even post links. How do I increase that post count? = = )

I already read it but I can't find the RUU for my CID.
Does the files downloaded from www.htcdev.com are the RUU ?

but its say that i have to update my phone firmware.....

At the time of me posting this comment, the thread directly under yours has the exact same question and almost an identical title.
