what makes you think your M7_U have lte support?
and yes you can flash rom/ruu for the m7_u on a m7_ul or m7_ul on a m7_u
with s-off just do the full conversion using a ruu. change cid and mid then use the m7_ul ruu you want.
I had the exact same phone version you have and converted it to a dev edition this way. (btw this will not enable lte. its an hardware limitation)

I also have it under my settings, but there is no lte capabilities. The M7_U have the MDM8215 modem which is a 3G+/4G chip with HSPA+ Rel8/9
GSM/EDGE connectivity only. The M7_UL have the qualcomm MDM9215 modem 4G LTE with LTE Rel9 HSPA+ Rel 8 1x/DO TD-SCDMA GSM/EDGE
connectivity. Unless htc now ship M7_U with mdm9215 modem, there is no way you'll get LTE with it, even if you have lte listed in your settings. The best way to know, go in store and ask to borrow a lte sim card to test if your phone support lte.

M7_U and M7_UL are the exact same phone apart the modem chip, so there is no risk to follow guides and flash stuff for M7_UL on your M7_U

there is no ruu for .599 version. I would recommend you to use either the international wwe .401 version of the dev edition .1540 version.
with phone s-off'ed all you need to do is to change CID and MID to match the ruu you want to use. Then run the ruu (if a .exe ruu) or flash it (if a .zip ruu) and do ota updates to latest verison.

You need to know your MID as well as your CID. Watch out for the M7 UL or M7 U in the filename (make the correct choice): http://www.htc1guru.com/downloads/ruu-file-downloads/
If you're still having difficulty to find/choose your RUU, just follow step 1 from the guide (link in my previous reply) and post it here, but remove your serial and imei.

This RUU should work fine for you. :cyclops:
http://www.htc1guru.com/dld/ruu_m7_...1-27_10-31-1131-05_release_310878_signed-exe/
Just download and run it. Keep it safe if you ever need to return to 100% stock again. Your S-OFF and unlocked bootloader will stay unchanged and you will be able to receive OTAs.
An alternate solution would have been to adb push a stock/custom ROM to your device and then flash it in custom recovery, but maybe the RUU method is easier for you.

Glat that it worked out for ya , you should have system version with 401 in it , it's interational EU base , you should have update on your phone , i've got it when i went back to stock to apply OTA. if it doesn't work use THIS http://www.htc1guru.com/dld/guru_reset_m7_2-24-401-1-zip/
It's stock HTC One rom , the one you need , that's the one i used and applied ota i'm HTC_032 cid , it's pretty much same like yours since the 401 base supports more cids like yours HTC_001 , 401 rom has these cids :
HTC__001, HTC__E11
HTC__102, HTC__203
HTC__405, HTC__Y13
HTC__304, HTC__032
HTC__A07, HTC__J15

1. At 1st question you need unlocked bootloader , if you have s-off you can do it without need of htc ( also no need to lock bootloader when applying ota ) then you flash recovery via fastboot after that go to recovery and flash the Rom I gave you link for and update to latest 3.62 with new hboot and radio. ( remember to select when flashing the Rom above " flash stock radio / recovery " )
After applying ota you can flash recovery of your choice and flash any Rom. My suggestion is do what I wrote here mainly so you get latest hboot / radio. Then make a nandroid backup of stock Rom and keep it for next ota.
2nd question :
Yes you can flash any Rom on any hboot version we have right now. But it's adviced to apply latest hboot / radio for better compatibility.
@ rooting , root is not needed for flashing roms all you need is unlocked bootloader for recovery , this isn't Sony :sly:

[Q] New HTC One - S-OFF!!

Hi,
My friend purchased a new HTC One and it gave the following information on bootloader. I was surprised to see its S-OFF by default.
M7_UL PVT ship S-Off RH
CID - 111111111
HBOOT-1.54.0000
radio-4a.18.3250.15
open dsp - v31.120.274.0617
os-2.24.708.4
eMMC-boot 2048MB
and Build No is : 2.24.708.4 cl2111355 htc build
Can anyone please tell me if this is a debranded phone or anything.
If this is kept, would there be any issues for flashing custom ROMs? Like after S-off and Unlocked Bootloader. Would it still restrict that I would be able to flash only certain ROMs on it..
Please tell asap

If your phone is S-OFF you can flash a ruu with a locked/unlocked/relocked bootloader, with s-on you need a LOCKED bootloader to flash a ruu.
You can flash any ruu that match you CID (not a problem with supercid) and MID (MID can be changed easily with s-off).
Don't forget you will not receive ota updates with super cid.

MID must match too
better to post a ''fastboot getvar all'' except imei/sn so we can tell if you can flash that ruu
also post a link to the ruu you want to flash.
and you can always pull mmcblk0p6 to find the true origins of your phone

you need a custom recovery, or a rooted ROM, do you have that?
then you open a shell and dd it out, for example:
adb shell
su
dd if=/dev/block/mmcblk0p6 of=/sdcard/mmcblk0p6_bak.img
exit
exit
adb pull /sdcard/mmcblk0p6_bak.img
^^ careful with "dd" commands, you don't want to write something to one of your partitions (with S-Off you can brick easily using this command)
in particular the "of=" (output file)... do not want to write something to one of your partitions!! (by mistake)
reading (and saving to /sdard) is perfectly safe, just not writing
this is what a p6 looks like:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
the MID the system reads is at offset 0x4000, the others remain unchanged, and CID the system reads is in a completely different partition(s).... so from here you can pretty much get the all the info what your phone originally was.

I highly recommend you either change your MID and/or pull that partition i was talking about earlier... obviously the previous owner thought that there is something called SuperMID, which (in my very humble opinion) doesn't exist
SuperCID (CID = Carrier ID)... fine, you're just changing carrier ID
MID = model ID = hardware... not fine, thinking you can change it that easily and "get away with it", you cannot change the phone hardware simply by changing MID.

Thanks a lot for that information. My question was, Secondly, I need to know if this phone can be used for development purposes? Like.. In future if I unlock the bootloader by HTC Dev method, and as its S-OFF and SuperCID already present, will I be able to flash recovery and flash any Firmware present here in dev section? Or I need to correct the MID else it wouldnt allow flashing?

As long as you're S-Off you can unlock even without HTCdev.
and yes, you can flash pretty much anything for the m7_u or ul models (m7_u and ul software/firmware works for both models), the exceptions are CDMA phones (such as Sprint and Verizon), and Dual-SIM stuff.
As for the MID, (for firmware flashing) you may get MID mismatch if the android-info.txt doesn't contain "PN071****"
MIDs should be (as far as I'm aware):
PN0710000 -> international M7_UL
PN0711000 -> international M7_U
PN0712000 -> US/Canada M7_UL
PN0713000 -> US T-Mobile M7_UL
PN0714000 -> Asia M7_UL
To change your MID to one of the above (PN0710000 for example), you can use this tool: [TOOL] MID change without ENG HBOOT | Aroma GUI
which you use in a custom recovery.
And the most important part: do not go S-On!!!!!

Awesome! Thanks for the info.. One more small thing.. In the HTC help and error reporting, it said that this is a test device... Will that restrict flashing new FW and all?? Also will that error message disappear if I flash a different FW or RUU? I think it shud be because of OS, but I wanna know..

That message (test device and error reporting is always on) is due to the device being S-Off (on a stock ROM)... but who cares?
--1) Do you think HTC collects more information than google, your provider, etc
--2) how often does your phone crash? cause that's when it's supposed to send the information
--->> if you are the paranoid type, and think you need to go S-On (because it won't "allow" them to collect information), you're going to get into a lot of trouble if you don't know when and how to do it (which firmware, which ROM, which CID, which MID), and you'll be seriously stuck!!
And that message won't affect your ability to flash anything.

no problem, remember to:
1- stay s-off
2- flash things only for m7_u/ul models... if you are unsure, then better ask first!!
for example this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2626050 almost looks like for the HTC One, but it does say:
* Target device: HTC Droid DNA (PL8320000)
and it's in the:
forum!!!
you flash that, and you have yourself a serious problem!!
So stick to the correct forum, and make sure what you flash is m7_u/ul
Happy flashing

Oh that much I am used to.. I was in Incredible S Dev forum earlier and have efficiently used all ROMs starting from GB to KK.. Just that I didnt understand the concept of CID which was not there(or I didnt have to take a look at) but after the information got from you, I think I am sufficient info to start D
I am not a Noob at flashing and Rooting but some concepts change in a higher end phones and its always better to know stuffs indepth before trying it

[Q] HTC One M7 RUU IMG Error

Hey guys,
I recently got S-Off on my device and downgraded my HBoot to 1.44 and changed to SuperCID 11111111
The RUU i downloaded is " Sprint_HTC_One_m7wls_4.06.651.4_RUU"
The reason i need to go back to stock to see if i can get my Wifi and Bluetooth to start working again since it's stuck in "turning on mode" I have tried flashing new roms, radios, kernals, factory reset etc. No idea why Wifi and Bluetooth stopped working i just woke up one morning and it wouldn't turn on.
For some reason when flashing this RUUi keep on getting 158 IMG error? I have tried running as admin, and making sure phone is in Fastboot USB but still wont work.
Which RUU should i try, any help would be awesome as i would love to get my Wifi and Bluetooth working again, here are my phones details.

this ruu isn't for your phone at all !
You have a M7_UL (GSM) not a M7WLS (sprint CDMA) !!
What was your original CID?
Your main-ver is .401 so you probably need a .401 ruu

I was under the impression that if i was S-OFF and had SuperCID that i could run any RUU.
I know there is no RUU for my device hence why i wanted to get S-OFF and SuperCID so i could try another RUU, so this is not possible?
I have the nandroid backup for my device but when i flashed it Wifi and Bluetooth would still not work. Looks like i might have to send it into the shop for repairs.

Not ANY ruu! Only RUU for M7_UL models. CID and MID must match the ruu (can be easily changed to match RUU with s-off)
M7WLS is a different phone and flashing things for the WLS variant on your UL variant WILL brick your phone.
BTW Never flash things to your phone ''under the impression'' it is ok, read carefully and ask questions
---------- Post added at 05:51 PM ---------- Previous post was at 05:43 PM ----------
@iAMuSIK
now you could try the 1.28.401.7 ruu
Be sure the MD5 value match the downloaded RUU: 2fd46305b6080830e2ca27a080999b93
fastboot oem writecid HTC__001
change MID to PN0710000 using this tool
then run the ruu
Never s-on
and stay bootloader unlocked for now
if your issue persist, your phone is hardware damaged and you will need to send it back for repair.

I thought i did read everything, which obviously i missed a few parts. Since the nandroid backup didn't work ill take defeat and accept my Wifi and Bluetooth is possibly a hardware issue. Can't send phone in for warrenty since its "Rooted" so hopefully i can find a good repair center around my part of town.

Hi!
have bought a used HTC One (M7) that is AT&T unlocked. Now I live in Tunisia (North Africa) and i can't update my software version "4.18.502.7".
This is my bootloader status:
***RELOCKED***
M7_UL PVT SHIP S-OFF RH
CID-11111111
HBOOT-1.56.000
RADIO-4T.24.3218.09
OpenDSP-v32.120.274.0909
OS-4.18.502.7
eMMC-boot 2048MB
I tried to install the following RUU: "RUU_M7_UL_L50_SENSE60_MR_BrightstarUS_WWE_7.17.15 40.7_Radio_4T.35.3218.16_10.33Q.1718.01L_release_4 20191_signed_2"
I had changed my cid to match that of Brightstar (BS_US001, or sth like it) but didn't work. I kept encountering "error 155".
I just want to find a compatible RUU and to be able to update (getting rid of AT&T bloatware would be a plus).
Please help!
Thank you!

You must be connected to the at&t network to receive ota update for the at&t version. If you want to convert to the Brightstar version using that RUU you'll first need to update your firmware to at least 6.xx.1540.x. Look in my dev edition thread (link in my signature) you'll find all the dev edition files.

Post the output of "fastboot getvar all" (hide your imei and sn). Why did you go back to locked and S-ON after the conversion? That wasn't a really good idea...

How much free memory left? You could update using a ruu or by downloading the Ota update from xda and installing them manually.
Sent from my HTC One using XDA Labs
A lot of memory, it's a fresh install with FULL Wipes ! By RUU and OTA zip's yes it works perfectly !
I think that we couldn't update via OTA because RUU is not an official compilated by Google, it's a dumped ROM and compiled to RUU

Why don't you try one of the RUUs posted in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2358781
That way you con go straight to latest build .H18

Then if its a fresh install why not simply simply flashing the newest RUU like suggested above? Simplest solution.

Also converted my phone to GPE (went back to Sense) and I had no problem installing OTA updates... Not sure If I used the same RUU.
That's very weird ... I tried 4.3 and 4.4.2, but nothing !
If i flash 5.0.2 and OTA is not working, i couldn't also get 5.1 with Stagefright fix because there's not yet .zip OTA here. The only way is official OTA from google.
@ yoda1998
I'll try to flash the RUU from your link , hope that's works
Thank you yoda98, that's worked perfectly ! I've tried to do that : PN710000 - GOOGL001 - SOFF - RELOCKED and OTA downloaded and installed succesfully
