High temperature issues - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi everyone,
.so I 've been using my HTC one for the last year without any issues. Suddenly a couple of weeks ago I started noticing that my phone gets really hot when using WiFi as well. gsam reports battery temp around 40-44.
Furthermore my phone keeps asking for password even for known WiFi networks while it will connect automatically a few secs after. Sometimes instead of connecting the WiFi will switch off and then after a while it will be enabled again.
I m on stock 5.11.401.10.any thoughts?

[Q] Signal and battery problem

For weeks or months now, I have had a problem with my battery. Not only does it drain itself radically, my phone also restarts at random moments (usually when someone's calling, percent of battery doesn't exactly matter) If it helps, when I checked my battery a week ago, I found that it had some scratches at the side, which is unusual since I don't even touch it.
That's problem number one; the drainage and the random restarts. I have another one. Since yesterday, after I entered a friend's house that I know receives no signal at all, I have not had decent signal. Location doesn't even matter anymore, I usually have good signal at home but now there's nothing. It sometimes goes on but after a while, it's gone again. Friends with the same SIM cards (TM, and no that does not mean T-Mobile, it's a local brand) say that their signals are quite good. I tried inserting my sim on my brother's phone and it was working fine.
I deem my phone useless now. Help?
Which rom you are using..
Try full wipe!!!
GingerDX. Already tried that, it didn't work.
maybe ur x8 is not well reacting with this rom
try another rom or other version
Install all Past Versions of GINGERDX. Worked for me i got more than 2 days on mah gingerDx and S-Rom.
Oh, wait the signal's fine now. My only problem is the battery now.
Hm..maybe. But for the brief moment that I downgraded it to the stock Eclair, it still kept restarting when the battery got low.
I just got it what causes battery drain on GDX!
GPS! Even if you turn it off, it will eat your battery until you reboot. I think it can't stop for some reason.
So after you use GPS, you have to turn it off and you must reboot to prevent BD.

O2x issue - Battery freezes and mobile data stop working

Hi all,
I've got an annoying issue on my O2x. Sometimes when I leave it in standby for a long time (>30mins) with the screen off, the battery percentage freezes and I can't make or receive calls/sms; also mobile data stop working. If I try to activate flight mode, nothing happens. I have to reboot the phone.
Example:
Yesterday I went to sleep (battery: 73%).
I woke up after 6 hours (battery: 71%).
I used the phone for ~2 hours (battery: still 71%).
Then I noticed that Mobile Data were disabled (can't enable it) and signal was fixed to 3/4 bars (even if I tried to go somewhere w/o phone signal - still 3/4).
Tried to make calls, send sms but can't (battery: still 71%).
Tried to turn on airplane mode, it disabled Wi-Fi but nothing else happened (battery: still 71%).
At the end I had to reboot the phone. At boot, battery was 17% (the true percentage, I suppose) and everything with mobile data/signal was ok. Then I received 7-8 messages from people that tried to contact me during this "issue" time. :\
This crappy thing is happening like once a day, so please help me!!
(I'm running Leaked v20o with BB725, but I had the same issue through Topogigi/Thanatos/CM/v20L with different BBs/RILs!)
I have the same problem. Battery freezes at 37%, and I can't receive/make calls. If I reboot the phone then the battery start to show the correct charge. This happens every day. It sucks.
Well, at least I'm not the only one...
Someone told me it could be an hardware problem (battery).. So I think I'll buy a new battery as soon as possible and try... :S
I had the same issues when I upgraded my phone to the official Gingerbread release. Prior to that I was on Topogigi's ROM, which is GB as well, and never had similar problems using two different basebands (but I honestly don't remember what number they were). When I switched to CM7 I never faced this issue again, so I don't think it is a hardware problem.

Help, phone overheating

Phone is regular S5 (not Active) rooted stock. The last two days my phone has had a persistent notification saying Searching by GPS. The phone becomes extremely hot and battery is draining faster than 15% an hour.
I have several Xposed modules, but nothing that I have added in the last month and this started 2 days ago. I can stop the issue by turning off location, but that is not a permanent fix. Yesterday for some reason Plume was the biggest offender in the battery stats, so I deleted that app for good measure, but the issue persisted. Finally after shutting down the phone for 5 minutes and turning it back on, the issue disappeared, but is back today. Any ideas?
Check ur cpu make sure it not hanging.

Nothing hanging. Why is Searching using GPS persistent? I have a lock on location on Google Maps, so there is a GPS lock. What processes or apps might use this?

Stock AT&T 4.4.4 - Bluetooth & Battery Issues

Hi Guys,
I have an S5 - Had it for about a year. I have only a few apps installed on the phone (business stuff) - No games or gimmicky stuff.
The phone has been a pretty stable and reliable phone. About 3 weeks ago I got the 4.4.4 update. The update was automatic and went smoothly.
Since the update I have 2 issues.
First - Bluetooth - If the blue tooth is turned on on the phone, but I am not using a blue tooth device with the phone, when talking using the S5 speakerphone -every 15-30 seconds the phone switches to Bluetooth - even though the bluetooth device is not in use. And at least 50% of the time when I am within range of one of my bluetooth devices (Car Audio, Ear Piece, Xlink Home, Xlink Office) the S5 doesn't connect to the device. If I shut Blue tooth on/off it still won't connect. If I try to manually connect to the device it won't connect (devices are all listed and shown as paired. If I reboot the phone it still won't connect to the blue tooth device. Sometimes when using the phone in the middle of a call (not like the initial 30 seconds - but several minutes in) then the phone connects to the blue tooth device.
Second Issue is Battery Life - Like I said earlier i don't have too many apps on my phone. Prior to the update a normal day for me the phone comes off the charging stand at 9am with 100% charge - And goes back on at 6pm with 60-70%. Since the update every 2-3 days the phone goes from 100% to 40% within 2 hours - without me using the phone!
Any recommendations? Is there a setting I need to change to get function and reliability back ?
Thanks
Dave
Obviously there are ways to try figure out the issue... e.g. remove all paired BT devices from phone and repair them... check to see what's drawing so much of battery so quickly, etc. ... but given the fact that 4.4.4 is very stable build... and the size of the update to 4.4.4... I would do a factory reset. That resolves many known/unknown glitches. Personally I do it even though I have to go through setting up apps, etc. But it's worth it. That's just my opinion though.

I also have the same battery issue after the updates. So do a few of my colleagues. The phone shows Android system battery usage as the highest. A lot more than the screen..etc. Any ideas?
Thanks
Try turning off the wifi for a day. That seems to be working for me.

HTC One M7 - Battery over-heating and draining

Hi, recently i have faced an issue with my HTC One M7. My phone starts to overheat whenever there is a bad network (Vodafone India). While talking on phone, it starts to heat up after 2-3 minutes only. Whenever there is a bad network reception and if it turns to 2 G mode, it starts to overheat. It does not heat while playing a game or while normal surfing on the phone.
I searched the various forums, but could not find a solution. Anyone with a solution, please help.
