Hi guys i saw today the new Android l . is there any chance that our LG support it
Sent from my LG-P990 using XDA Free mobile app
Really?!?! Android L was ANNOUNCED today!!!!! Take a break and have a kitkat :cyclops:
I think his name will be lolipop or something like this
no way that we will have android L. It's too much devs are working hard on kitkat and it is not even stable so I think there wil be no Lollipop. Or maybe an alpha build by someone but no stable for daily use
we could make a community version, where everyone works together to get a rom which is ****ing every other rom. not based on aospa or cm. A real own rom, only for our loved p990
This is good question, why this last two or more years build new rom on cm and aosp base when they know about bug and this bug is in every new version.
I think is time that someone who know how, build new rom from begining and not from base with known bugs.
If we use for build house brocken brick and house will colapse and then again use broken brick, house will colaps again and the same is with rom.
If you use over and over again base with bugs, they will be always present in every new rom.
IMHO we need fresh start for new rom and only then is possibility that rom will work with no bugs.

Hey guys, been out of the loop for a while as I've been settled on JPY for a few weeks now. However, I saw a friend flash his Desire today with Oxygen, a gingerbread-based AOSP ROM. All the SGS ROMs I can find so far are based on the stock Samsung firmware - is there any work being done on a full AOSP ROM like Oxygen or Cyanogen? I can't find any details about this anywhere.
I am very curious about this question. Because if answer is simply no, it's time to sell Galaxy S. Gingerbread will be the last update from Samsung and AOSP could be the future of this phone then CM7 for SGS seems to have big problems and it's the only AOSP ROM for SGS which I'm aware of...
What big problems?
I'm using CM7 for a month right now and it's pretty stable if i can say. Yes, it lacks some features and some bugs are not fixed yet (theres a workaround tho), but if you follow it's thread the progress they make are great. They're already into mainline, so probably it will reach RC status in a month/maybe less, who knows.
After the devs are done, i think there will be a custom ROM based on CM7/AOSP.
~drz
CM7 is getting there. And with Gingerbread coming out, that should make things easier for the dev.
Yes, but with no source then there is nothing big. GB leak, only helped them with "less" important stuff (FM radio, etc.)

My question is, what ROM do you guys here suggest, DOENS'T have to be latest android or something, just to be latest as possible, but first of all to be FAST, RELIABLE and STABLE ???
Best Regards, this forum RULEZ!

I'm currently using team android jellybean and its super smooth and fast due to project butter. It can be used for daily use, so your wife can call and text like normal. However if you prefer a more stabler ROM I recommend team nyx. Its ICS (android 4.0) and team android jellybean is jellybean (android 4.1).
Ps. Both are great
Just got the wife one of these and installed cm9 rc2,everything is spot on...
I did have cm9 stable but had an issue with ringtones so reverted back to the rc2 version.
why not start with the stable and if theres any issues its straightforward to roll back to rc2 without losing any data etc...
Are there any noticeable improvements (performance-wise) in the custom KitKat ROMs and the stock 4.1.2? I mean, are there any changes that you can feel and see, or is it just a new android version with fancy new features?
Also I'd wait until a stable version of OmniROM or CM gets built until I try to flash my device.

I have flashed CM nightlies, PA nightlies, 4.3 PAC and Omni ROM.. Each Rom has its own unique features and performance difference!..
But personally i would say, those has its own + and - things..
The last ROM i flashed 4.4.2 Dirt Unicorns Rom ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2633846 ) seemed Great to me.. Overall Nice features cheery picked from all ROMS but again its individual's preference in the end of the day and Every ROM is unique in its own way!
NOTE:- S-Note, S planner and other samsung apps will work only if you are flashing a Touchwiz based Rom.. Those apps wont work in CM, PA and AOKP Roms cuz they need TW framework to work with!
If you are thinking of flashing of TW based Roms, i would recommend 2 Roms to take a look at..
X-Rom ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2320871 ) This is the Rom, i am currently using.. It will give your phone a tablet UI, thus taking advantage of your Note's large real estate screen! .. Multi window, floating window and buttery smooth and lots of features!
You can also check out the Note 8 Apps ported to our galaxy note N7000, if you are interested.. ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2217662 )
Arya Mod ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=52357155 ) This is also a great Rom and cool icons and themes!
I can't say I've been using any of the TouchWiz features, to be honest.
Just a few things I don't like on the stock ROM: The gallery takes a long time to open, opening the contacts takes a bit, and the animations sometimes glitch out (they just get skipped). And I'm locked to my current provider, but as my guarantee is at an end, I'm looking for a custom ROM to get out of the damn simlock, and maybe fix some other things as well.
So if you could just point out a few major differences (both performance wise, and feature wise) between CM, Omni and Dirt Unicorns, that'd be awesome. Of course I'd still wait for a stable version to come out.
I'm not really sure if I want a TW based ROM, not that I was using any of it's features. They always were a tad bit laggy on my phone. Mainly I'm looking for a ROM that'll run the smoothest, and that's the main thing, all eye-candy and fancy stuff is just icing on the cake. But I'll check out the ROMs you linked (the links seem to be wrong, tho). Thanks a lot!
I'll post another question in the same thread, so I don't have to open another one and clutter the board.
Are the OmniROM and CM nightlies stable? Also, is the only way to update CM to download and flash a new version of the OS, since there's that opendelta thing on Omni, where you can just download the update, just like real OTA?

They aren't stable but can be used as daily driver depending upon your usage. For Omnirom there is open delta, you can check for updates in settings>About Phone and it would only download the update not the whole rom.

I doubt 4.4 will ever be 100% stable, but god bless the cooks that keep coming up with updates, since for obvious reasons,
Samsung won't port past 4.1.2 officially.
Personally, for my usage, I've skipped everything past 4.1.2, as I can go weeks between reboots, lock ups, and with a custom
launcher (go launcher), my device is smooth and rock stable. It has a stock (DBT german international device) rom, rooted,
custom kernal just in case I forgot and didn't want to erase and endure the brick bug. Uninstalled the DBT bloat.
2+ years and still going strong.

Respected all developers. Instead of making hundred of new ROMs daily, why not you come all together and make on stable built? I am seeing redmi 2 development since lollipop ROM. But didn't find any stable ROM. Every ROM have irritating bugs. Like unstable network or battery drain, or we can't off data or there is no option to disable sim or laggy build. Or even after using a week. It starts random reboots. I used moto device for 4 years. They have super stable custom ROMs. But as we look at redmi 2, we feel hopeless about its development. So I request you all. Come together and make one stable build. We user dont need hundred of useless hopless roms. We want gud stable build.Google released 7.1 and still we don't have stable 5.1 ROM. We don't have stable marshmallow or nought. :\
Seriously Man What's wrong with ..?? If u feel moto is good for custom use that devic

are u joking or serious.
our developers are working hard and we have already got near stable nougat roms.
and one more thing don't hurt the developers
I hate my device, it dons't even work good with the stock rom, custom kernels reboots, rom's have a buggy brightness, but the thing is, almost no dev is trying to help this
Look man.... I not going for a debate of whether is there any stable custom ROM or not .
But if they all together make a single custom ROM ,do u think all problem will be solved?
I think no....because though they are creating different ROMs, I am sure they contacts each others for resolving issues. Some bugs are also source bug. Some options are not available from the birth(like sim switching off).
Do u think miui is stable ....no..
And at last, they are human not superhuman. They are trying ...I think.
Dear @Shubhamdeshmane151,
Use MIUI, take your phone, pc and burn them all. Also don't ever come back to xda. If you would have seen development seen LP, you should have respected the developers.
For who people hate redmi 2's custom rom and its developer, then switch your redmi 2 with another device. Do not irritating our beloved developers that working hard to this device. Remember, you did not have paid them for development and you ask for ETA? L.O.L, you must be joking me! Close this useless thread bray!

Hello everyone!! my team and i have been working on a different type of rom for the Z family to maximize the total experience.
the world best modular phone deserves the best OS we can offer so we figured why rewrite the wheel we used a slightly modded kernel version of Los 15.1 and ubuntu 16.04 into a new operating system. the old/dying project Maru is coming back in this way, and better than ever.
if you guys are interested we would like to share the rom once it is ready for RC1, well let me know what you think and we just might make this new rom public very soon.

just a little bit of what this looks like
Unleashing
This seems like one of the only ways to unleash the power of the mods since google and Motorola wont allow the community to get the code for the mods. If you need someone to do nightly compiles, I will happily help.
Wow, this is great! I’ve been locked down with Verizon, running a stock Moto Z. Love the mods but miss playing with Roms. I bought a Z2 Force but still on VZ. I bought a Sprint Z2 Force last month and unlocked the boot loader and rooted the phone. I haven’t flashed any Roms yet, I just waiting for the right one to come along. I’m not a developer but have flashed Roms since the First Moto Droid. I’ll be happy to give feedback. My Sprint is not my main phone, its just for play. I do want to unlock the sim in a month and bring the phone over to my Verizon account.
Not a Dev but been rooting and modding since htc Evo and original Xbox. Would love to help in any way possible.
ok so i only have a Z2 as of now in the Z family what i would like to know is what apps do you wish came built into a custom rom the you have found useful while on a custom rom? the goal is to become stable asap and we are seemingly stable now but we really want to polish this up.
we have a few more phone we are getting ready to start build for too but this phone is the main focus right now we have one of the devs on the team running this on the international s9. if todays build is ready for prime time we will post it asap but we are trying to get the install instructions done since it is a little work after the install.

It's not the same it works like maru but runs Los 15.1 not stock Android like maru and is on Ubuntu 16.04 not Debian. This room work the same but is a little different.
We made more progress last night. Hoping that we will have all the bugs worked out after today's report sync.
the command center widget that displays both the Moto mod battery and the phones battery
Hopefully u can make it so u don't have to log in to your G account to do the initial startup. And I 2nd apps needed r a good file explorer and maybe an alternative market like ACC or mobolism.
Any update on the development? Would really like to give this ROM a shot!
Anything new?
so quick update:
this is an unofficial build of maru os and if anyone is willing to help with development i would greatly appreciate the help. i am stuck at this moment since the guys i was working with are very busy at this moment. if you are serious about helping this progress to a stable build i can get you access to my build server to get this up and running once more. my phone is the one and only as of now and i have been enjoying it very much testing all the possibilities with external hardware. Devs please dm me tester will be selected once the builds are ready for single zip installs.
