Hope so! Just before I destroyed my Note (N7000) I put CM on it and loved it, so since I got the S4 Active I've been waiting for an official CM build. I used to not get why people whinged about the touchwizz stuff, but CM was way way nicer on the Note than the samsung stuff. I mildly missed the S-Note app, but theres heaps of replacements... hardly used the stylus anyway.
Downloaded the source link (took hours!), gonna have a poke around. Been an android dev for years but haven't gone to that next step of building roms & FW. Ugh. Lots of reading ahead!

What CyanogenMod's new home page will probably look like...

Stumbled across something earlier, I've found what CyanogenMods new
homepage might look like once CM9 comes out well sort of its a subtle difference.
Galaxy Nexus replaces HTC's built nexus one! All the screen shots have to ICS and
I'm guessing the logo will be in the same page and the number will be higher but
here it is! :') Ignore the red triangle at the bottom and I doubt that the bevel will
be there but it might be I'm guessing there will be some re-arranging but
otherwise the main part of it will more than likely be the same.
Just to clarify it's NOT a mock up I have come up with!

[Q] SGS/SGS+ ?

Hey guys, I have an Samsung Galaxy Ace, and it's bricked but under warranty. Now Samsung needs to replace my phone because they aren't manufacturing Ace parts anymore. And to top it all they can't downgrade my phone E.G give me a Samsung Galaxy Gio. So I'm in luck They can give me the SGS+ or the SGS....
Now I want to know, which one is best from a Dev support angle..I am a dev but want a device which already has most ready, like CM etc...Official would be nice.
But if one of the devices performance is so much better that it would be smarter to get that one instead of a device with better Dev support please inform me on that too
And then how active is the SGS thread section? back at the Ace there was a post at least every 10 minutes and you got an answer in tops 20 minutes.

i9000 was Samsungs top model, i9001 was not and never will be. Yes, sure, it has better hardware, faster cpu, slower gpu.. but i9000 got more dev's and community attention...
i recommend SGS cause of more roms and devs. thats why 400Mhz less wont hurt
For sure i9000/sgs it have better CPU and better GPU And way better development
Sent from another galaxy powered by CM10 & Syiah

Hi all, I have stumbled into your world, and I am amazed at the depth of help and knowledge out there, and I hope to learn a thing or two and possibly share also. My phone journey modification has begun with a Samsung S4 GT-I9505. Somehow I have installed Lineage OS18.1, without any GApps at this stage I may add (I forgot about it), and for the most part it is in a working state, with a few glitches though. Now without driving all a little insane, and getting myself lost in the forums, how would one start to verify what has been done so far? does the information below help anyone? with thanks and gratitude in advance...

Question What's the benefit of Custom ROM developers? Why do they build custom ROM?

I actually much interested to know the benefits of custom rom providers. Why do they do it? Are these roms secure enough? TIA
There are millions of developers around the world providing free and open source softwares out of their free time. Not everything in the world is for money or getting something. Many do it for the passion. It's what they love.

Pretty sure this was from official Evolution X ROM. While I doubt that it was the maintainer who "hacked" their account (using a name that can be traced back to you is kinda stupid IMO + this isn't their first ROM), how do you make sure they're safe? Are the codes compared to the source before being distributed? Do people actually looks into the source code before installing them?
The way I see it, a lot of actors can turn these ROMs malicious, from the dev team to the maintainers etc., so you're just relying on trust. I'm not saying they would, I'm just saying they could and most people probably wouldn't notice. Hopefully, someone can prove me wrong and easy my worry.
