Since this model is new, i assume all facts are new too.
- SAFE mode is started by holding Vol+ and power button at the same time at startup.(adb shell is enabled, nothing is running(single user mode?)
- FIRMWARE upgrade mode seems to be Vol- with USB cable connected at power-on.
- APX mode is started by holding Vol+ and Vol- down at the same time at power up(when pressing power).
* since we do not have a bootloader.bin yet, it will be hard to try anything. can we use htc onex bootloader.bin?
* tegra3 is also locked with a SBK, which we do not have either (i believe).
-Battery mode
Turn off mobile. attach USB cable to pc and mobile. turn on mobile.
- adb reports shell not found and some root details?
im still digging into the fastboot mode, so information can be extracted on the rom rel. etc.. maybe someone already knows?
ill keep this updated, if i find out more.
APX drivers
Do you have APX drivers for 4X ?
not yet, i assume those for asus prime should work as well?
it not work.
@Dexter_nlb
I read that Asus will release NVFlash for Asus Prime.
Do you think it will also work for us?
I believe they for a fully working apx mode since prime got a full recovery using apx mode?
recovery details added.

Nothing happens. Nothing shows on screen. When i hook it to computer, it makes a noise that it found some device, and in device manager shows as APX, instead of as modem or anything else....
Bricked. APX mode only
Did you find how to fix it?. I have the same issue after a failed upgrade using LG mobile support tool.
No SW upgrade mode, no screen or leds activity, no nothing. When is connected to PC, APX device is recognized. I found some drivers and the APX device is displayed now as "NVIDIA USB Boot-recovery driver for mobile devices". I'm stuck there. I was looking into NVflash utility but after the command "nvflash --sync" only get "unknow device found"
Can anybody help me please?.
How can I get into SW recovery mode or something that shows some activity from the phone?.
Thanks and regards

i guess not much can be done. sent mine to the service center and got it back 3 days later fully functional. i guess it's easier to restore for LG since they have all the tools and magic keys.

NVflash doesn't work, at least after upgrade to JB.
Before give your devices as bricked, try to enter in S/W without battery a few times and after with battery on.
Sometimes stressing the device have some results.
But the best you can do is take it to service.
Thanks gingerboy92. I follow your advice and my phone is in a LG service center now. Hope they can fix it.
I think that's the only safe way to recover it. Looks like Tegra 3 devices have security keys that are unique for each processor and without them you can't go further.
Amigo ruedaslocas, I tried many times to do what you say, unsuccessfully. Thanks anyway.

Hey everyone,
I have a cracked and blacked screen on a Galaxy S. It turns on, vibrates, and makes noise when the USB is connected.
The phone has files I am trying to recover, which is an issue because the phone was not in debugging mode when it was smashed.
I put the phone in recovery/download mode and tried to ADB to recover the files. ADB will not recognize the phone and kies says "Unsopported connection mode alert" (but does recognize the phone)
Am i missing something here? The phone can use ADB while in recovery mode right? Any help is greatly appreciated and I did a fair amount of searching and couldn't come up with much... Thanks in advance!
I was flashing a new rom onto my HTC One today and my daughter got hold of it (Age 3) whilst my back was turned and has wiped the ROM completely!
I have TWRP v2.7.1.1 touch bootloader but I cant get a ROM installed - fastboot won't recognise that there is a device attached even though I get the 'connected sound' when I connect to my windows 8 laptop. I have searched for all the fastboot and adb solutions but have come to a dead end!
I think its dead! :crying:
Fastboot usb shows on the phone screen when connected though
the OS - on the fastboot screen shows blank too!
Can anyone help?
Hello, I have a Verizon LG G2 that is stuck in download mode. I was trying to unroot my phone using this method:
theunlockr(dot)com/2013/10/31/unroot-lg-g2-verizon/
Then, at step 12, where it was flashing the stock image, it stopped and got stuck.
I have tried using the LG Mobile Support Tool to restore my phone, but the process gets stuck on 10% and gives me an error. I have tried to install the drivers, but adb never recognizes my phone. I have a second LG G2 that adb did recognize, but it doesn't recognize the one in download mode. I am unable to access recovery via adb or button combinations. Every time i turn the phone off it goes straight back into download mode only when it's plugged in, otherwise it goes black and the only thing it does is vibrate when I hold down the power button. I don't know what else to try, what should I do?
Thanks.
Edit: the LG Mobile Support Tool recognizes my device as "LGVS980" and the Software Version as "VS98024A."
Well, I'd like to say that I know little English. And I'm using google translator.
The problem is the following
I have a Galaxy S3 LTE I9305T. It was working perfectly. Then I installed a custom rom. I installed a custom recovery then went to the custom rom, the device rebooted and worked normally. The problem came next.
I decided to test some adb commands. I installed all the drivers on the computer. The cell was recognized on the computer as an ADB device. And then I went to do the test, with the command adb reboot download ... then the device went into download mode ... great worked ... it goes out that way ... then I tried the recovery mode, to see if the device I was directed to the personalized recovery of the cell phone ... that's when the problem happened ...
After the adb reboot bootloader command ... the device did not work anymore. When and connected it is only on the screen Samsung Galaxy SIII GT-I9305T, and it is in infinite loop until discharge the battery.
Already tried to get into downloader mode. Power button + homer + volume button down and nothing happens besides continuing on the screen. Trying the keys to recovery mode same problem ...
With the cell phone turned off when I plug in the charger, does not appear charged signal, connects directly to the SAMSUNG GALAXY boot screen, when USB cable on the pc, do not hear the connected noise, just the same problem the screen on and off written Galaxy SIII...
Odin does not work because the cell phone is not recognized when connected in the computer, nor in the charger, but the screen turns on at boot. All drivers are installed
@magogm
That doesn't sound promising....
Firstly, you wanted to reboot to recovery, why didn't you use "adb reboot recovery"? AFAIK, and I might be wrong, but I don't think "adb reboot bootloader" works on Samsung phones anyway. I don't think it should have broken anything though.
If you can't enter system, recovery, or download mode, the next thing I would try is a usb jig to try to force the phone into download mode. If that works, try flashing the stock rom for the region from where the phone is from originally. That is the only thing I can think of that might work considering the device is not recognized by your pc in any state.....
You can get usb jigs cheap on ebay or amazon or elsewhere and instructions if you search. Good luck
