I'm so stuck! How can I change settings in servicemode? - Galaxy S 4 Active Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey,
So basically I was changing the service mode to UART but I accidentally pressed another option!
How can I change the settings back to normal or default in everything?
I'm trying to put in default all settings in *#9090#
Thanks

I am getting a white screen from Registry ...

I need some help. I was playing around with the program called the Registry Tweaker found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=255225&highlight=registry and I increased some cache and changed the default keyboard to Tengo (a program that lets you type fast) but when it booted up, it was a white screen and nothing else is happening. How can I reflash my ROM again? I was searching for ways to go into bootloader without the activesync doing it but I no info. My activesync is not connecting as well.
Never mind, I figured out how to get into the bootloader and then upload a new ROM from there. Before I was just holding the camera button and then releasing it right away after I press the soft reset button. But the correct way to let go off the reset button and then keep on holding the camera button that takes you to the bootloader.
changing the default keyboard to an (accidentally) incorrect code will cause a white screen on reboot, i just did the same myself, I only needed to hard reset though
Thanks for letting me know. I am going to avoid changing the default keyboard for the future.

Diamond power management issues

I'm assuming this is a bug, but hopefully there's a fix. when I go into the advanced tab under power settings, I try to set the backlight timeout on battery power to 30 seconds, but it keeps reverting back to 10 seconds. has anyone else experienced this, or is there a workaround?
Use the configuration utility located at http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=69442&d=1202399126 to configure this setting. Then, promptly tell it to do the soft reset. For some reason the settings don't get saved via other means. This is the easiest way to ensure it gets done correctly...just let this app do the soft reset when you make mods...then make the next mod...reboot.....continue....

Thanks the tip baliles. I have the advanced config tool loaded, but I can't find any power management options that address backlight timeout. it is called something else?
Has anyone come up with a fix for this as yet?
It's so annoying when I make a call and have to keep hitting the power button on the top left (T-mobile MDA IV) to bring the screen back to life mid call if I have to hit number keys when using automated phone service or if I need to put a call on hold etc etc...
A fix would be excellent..!
Here you go.. Works for me. I've forgotten who's responsible for the .cab, but credit goes to whoever made it.
EDIT: oops.. obviously i'll have to start reading before posting. This cab probably doesn't help you at all..
DOH!!
What does it do?
I'm desperate and will try anything lol

[Q]Service menu of XZ

For the newer update, the .253
I seems to remember that the service menu popped up some new stuff
by pressing the *#*#7378423#*#*
there, i dont remember two new stuff
1. Service setting > RF power back off test mode
and
2. Calibrations > Gyroscope / Accelerometer
can anyone check and see the .434 have these options?
I'm still on 434, and I don't see the "RF power back off test mode" option. Under "Service Setting", there are no items.
I don't see any "Calibrations" option either.

I am guessing the RF power back off test mode is signal powering off after a period of idle
since inside there is three option

HELP - Pin code on lock screen saying it is incorrect with latest firmware

Giuys
Now this is weird and I tried turning off phone and on again but to no avail. I updated to the latest firmware (over the air) for my Xperia Z and I noticed some weird behaviour ... 1 Google + is now crashing 2 Some times upon pressing the power button the backlight of the display comes on but the mobile does not and I would have to turn it off again and back on to get it on. And now the latest surprise is ..... I CANNOT go past my lock screen . I am inserting the correct pin ,,,, the one I usually use and now I am desperate because I DONT want to lose the data that's in it. I know I can re-flash the mobile and resolve the issue but I have some photos which I really wish to keep as they have emotional value. So I want to avoid the route of doing a hard reset yet.
Thing is after I inserted the pincode and its saying its wrong for a number of times ... I expected the forgot password button to turn up on the lock screen but it is not ... Could anyone kindly explain to m e how to get this forgot password to come up on my numeric lock screen ? Everything is stock and the phone has wifi and 3g set to off ....
Please help !! I don't want to lose what's in my mobile.
Kind Regards
Al

Are you able to tap on "emergency call" on the lockscreen? If yes, go ahead and tap it. It should open up the dialpad then type in *#*#7378423#*#* . It should open up the service menu. At the service menu, navigate to "service tests" ---> "NFC" and let the test run. Once the test compleates, go ahead and tap the "home" button. You should see you homescreen.
Hope it helps
Regards.

Tried to test it for myself without having problems with my pin lockscreen. But this doesn't work. A window pops up and tells me that this is not an emergency number.
Sent from my Xperia Z using XDA Premium 4 mobile app.

If that fails as well, i think its better to contact Sony Customer Service and check if they could help but to be honest with you, high chances are there that they will advice you to perform a hard reset. Sorry dude :/

Note 8 Stuck on Main screen with "Phone is booting/starting..." message

Hey guys,
I have a Note 8 running on Android 9 for 4 years and I have been using the phone just fine until this morning when I woke up and noticed the phone having nothing on the main screen but a message (in native language, temporary translated as "Phone is booting/starting..."). I thought it was my child messing something up so I left it alone and 2 hours later it still displayed the same message. When I clicked on the Bixbly button, it said that the function was unable in Emergency mode. I also tried restarting, force restarting and restarting in Download mode, but nothing works. The volume button, navigation bar are still working properly; I can still access settings via navigation bar, and I can answer phone calls though I could not make phone calls with it.
Any suggestions on fixing this issue?

From sammobile - To turn off the Emergency mode, just tap on the overflow menu (the three-dot icon) in the top right corner and tap on the relevant option. You can also manage your emergency contacts by tapping the Manage emergency contacts option in the overflow menu.

Hey ultramaq69,
Thanks for your response. Though the suggestion sounds very general, I found out how to turn it off via power option menu, and it is now working properly again, thanks!
