Without rooting or flashing is impossible. You have to access to system to delete it.

After deleting the screen you will get a blanc black screen after sony logo or you can replace it with something else but actually I don't know if it's that easy to do.
If you are on 4.2 you can flash a unbranded FTF Android 4.3 update without unlocking bootloader or rooting and probably you will lose the screen after sony logo.

No, official 4.3 (290) for you will still have the T-Mobile boot animation. You will need to flash a generic 290 FTF. Because you are flashing a stock FTF, it is not necessary to unlock BL or root.
I don't think you should lose warranty, but if you take it back into T-Mobile they'll probably wonder why all the T-Mobile stuff is missing.

You will lose Warranty if you Unlock Bootloader Only. You will not lose your Warranty if you will root your phone or deleting T-Mobile bloatware.
Yes, Official FTF in your case will have the T-Mo logo and all the t-mo bloatware.
The solution if to flash a Unbranded Generic TFT .290, it's a full rom 4.3, and flash it via Flashtool v0.9.13. To do that you don't need root or unlocked bootlader.
Doing this you will not have T-Mo logo and bloatware but you will lose all the data on your phone because is raccomended a fresh installation with wipe Data, Cache and Appslog.
You can still not losing your data if you uncheck Wipe Data but is not recommended.
I brought the phone in Poland and I flashed a generic NCB FTF .290 and is working flawlessly in all europe.
All what you need is here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2469191
Good luck.
There are apps to change the boot animation but requires root, go to pay store and search "change bout animation" and select the app you want.
Don't forget that it requires root.

Yes, like the instructions. I give you few tips: backup all what you need to SD, switch off your phone and keep pressing volume down and connect to pc via usb, keep pushing the volume down all the time when do this, let windows install the drivers and when your phone will be connected in Flashmode open the Flashtool, select the firmware (put the firmware in the flashtool folder) leave the flashtool in default and flash the FTF, remember to keep pushing volume down all the time, when the green bar of the progress will start you can leave your phone alone.
All the FTF XXX.X.A.0.290 in the list are Android 4.3, download Central Europe if you are there and flash. You can use also NCB.

No, that mean there is some very small differences in customization and R2B actually is the newest one. Nothing what will influence the functionality of your phone just update with the Unbranded one.

Not yet and no guarantee it will be. BTW, this Kitkat at the moment is not a big deal. Have a lot of issues. Stay with 4.3 for now. It's just an advice.
I'm on ihackers 2.1 ROM android 4.3
rooted
unlocked bootloader
I wanted to go back to stock to C6902_14.2.A.0.290
I found the method but I'm not sure if this is the right way http://lionking853.blogspot.co.uk/2013/11/how-to-go-back-to-stock-firmware-on.html
and if it is the right way, after going back to stock ROM, will my phone unroot and relock again?
Can I just go ahead and do this or must I relock bootloader first?
please help me since I never done this before, only rooted and unlock that I did.
Thank you so much folks

If you have an unlocked bootloader, you will not be able to update using PC Companion. I didnt know all this **** were involved in Sony phones.
I had unlocked my bootloader a couple of days back, didnt know I had to backup my DRM keys and ended up losing my warranty. Now I cant even update my phone using the official updating method.
BTW... the recovery is bundled with the kernel, thats why people refer to it as flashing a kernel instead of recovery. I didnt know this until 2 days back.
Thanks

If I am on a Locked Bootloader and on a rooted custom ROM, will Sony PC Companion detect my phone when the next update comes??
This is stupid. If you are in 4.3 (.290) with un-locked boot loader you cant update via PC companion or SUS.
I ended up going to 534 (4.2) via flashtool. Root it, restore TA backup and then use SUS to update. And flashing the latest 4.3 via Flashtool din work.
No PC Companion or SUS won't detect your phone.. You've to manually flash a valid ftf from Flashtool.. Then you can connect & update your phone through PC Companion or SUS..

Do you still have the files? I'm looking to revert my C6602 (US) back to factory settings to I can allow PC companion to update the software.
(I'm looking to give the phone to someone, and they wont want to mess around with flashing and so on)
I'm using z1 stock rom lolipop
I tried in last two days king root its failed twice on version 4.1
then i found somewhere 4.0 with working root i tried and sucess!
then i installed titanium, greenify used phone for a day now want to backup drm for going to install custom reovery and custom roms !!!! what are my steps i failed during taking backup on drm keys..... what should i do i tried factory reset my phone now king user inside but phone is not rooted..... !!!!!!!!!!
Hello community,
this is my first post here so i hope, i do it right
Please excuse my english, it is not perfect.
I have a xperia z with Android 4.2.2 (10.3.A.0.423) . The bootloader is unlocked, cwm/twrp dualboot is installed, also the doomlord customkernel v19 is in use, root-access is available.
Is it possible to update to official stock firmware 4.3 (10.4.1.B.0.101) using the PC-Companion without bricking my phone? Root-Access and cwm and so on would be lost as i assume. This would be ok for me.
I really would like to do it that way. I think, as an alternative, i could flash the 4.3 stock rom using cwm? Going this way, will my data and all settings be lost?
Updating via OTA is not a good idea i think.
Thanks for advise
Greetings
ShellingFord
Well, you cannot update via PC companion, Sony Update Service or OTA, as your bootloader is unlocked.
So, that leaves updating via Flashtool or flashing a prerooted rom from the development section.
The cleanest way would be via Flashtool, then simply flash a custom kernel again and root.

And if im going to flash the stock-kernel which belongs my current firmware and then relock the bootloader?
If the bootloader is relocked, i can't flash a kernel or something else anymore right?
EDIT: If I decide to flash a rom will my data be lost or is it like im doing an normal update?
Is it possible to go back to stock with everything?
So much questions Sorry, I don't know that much, please help
Can anyone help?
Yes, if you relock the bootloader, you should be able to update via the normal methods (at least via PC companion, unsure about OTA). A locked bootloader means you cannot use custom kernels.
If you flash with Flashtool, you can choose not to wipe your data.

I assume, it would be the best to flash the original kernel before i lock the bootloader?
After relocking the bootloader and installing the update via PC-Companion, will the kernel be the "original" kernel and will cwm/twrp be still there or not?
Yes, flash a stock kernel before locking the bootloader. If you don't, you will soft brick your phone.
After updating, you will have a stock kernel and your custom recovery will be gone as well as root.

Hello,
I've been using Xperia Z1 for some longer time on KitKat, but I've noticed that it's much slower than android 4.3 I used to have on my Xperia Z.
So I've decided to downgrade to 4.3, but unfortunatelly Viper4android isn't fully supported on this version so I wanted to go even lower to try, whether everything works well there.
It took me few hours untill I found out how to properly downgrade to 14.1.G.2.257 and keep the antenna working.
However after short time I've noticed that the camera focus wasn't working at all.
I've tried about 3 different ROMS (all 14.1.G.2.257, did a full wipe), but the auto focus wasn't working on all of them.
Do You know some way to fix it (I've tried the camera fix but it didn't help) or a reason why it isn't working?
I'm planning to downgrade even to 14.1.G.1.534 this weekend, hopefully everything will work there.

unlocked bootloaders on those firmware break the camera
Just upgrade to 4.3 or 4.4 roms.
The warning is clear on the sony website about unlocking the bootloader on 4.2 roms.
Plus I must ask, if you have unlocked the boot, why bother downgrading?
Fix for camera
This is how I did it
I have Z1 6902 UB
1. Flash .757 ORIGINAL file. Not NUT. Wipe everything! Use Latest Flashtool
Check that camera works!
2. Connect your phone in fastboot mode and flash boot.img from kernel package Z1-XZDRKernel2.7.127-BETA.flashable
3. Flash Z1-XZDRKernel2.7.127-BETA.flashable in recovery
4. Flash UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.00 in recovery
5. Reboot and camera works.
i got the same problem
My camera dident focus too, i have a 6902 OB and i flash diferent kernels DooMKernel (v21) flash diferent version via flashtool(last version) and of course try to restore the phone but nothing works, how do you fix this isue?
my camera start malfuntion because im retard and i think i touch something whit link2sd, after noticed i try to restore and flash but no luky, later i open the bootloader hopping for a new kernel fix this but nothing :crying:
Any idea?
