Return from AICP to pure stock - Verizon LG G2

So, I was looking at the return to stock methods on the main G2 XDA page because that's normally what one would do if they were planning on returning to stock. But I follow the directions, including put the phone in download mode and the process stops saying that my phone isn't connected to the computer when clearly under device manager it is. Its even on COM41

Are you trying to go completely unrooted stock or back to a stock rooted rom?

All I can say is delete the drivers/devices/etc and start over following the return to stock guide. What OS by the way? I think it's cranky on Win 8. You may want to post your question in that thread also if you can't get it working.

[Q] Unroot Problems

I have a Samsung Galaxy S phone, specifically the mesmerize. I rooted my phone using the Superoneclick and I am not trying to unroot it by clicking the unroot button. But everytime i do, it gets to waiting for phone and then it freezes. Is there any other way to unroot, or anything i should be doing? Any input would be appreciated.

Flash any ROM and the root will go.
so if i flash a rom onto my phone, then the unroot will work? the reason i ask is my phone has been acting up so i figured i would just unroot it and wait until froyo was released from samsung.
i would go back to stock firmware. that will guarantee that everything is back to normal. But flashing to any rom will NOT get you updates from samsung. Roms are custom made and are made to stop your phone from receiving official updates from samsung. Anyone correct me if im wrong. But flashing a diffrent rom might just fix your freezing problem.
Thats what I am trying to do, is to unroot my phone in order to go back to regular firmware. The problem is that when i click the unroot button, it gets to the waiting for device and then it freezes. So i have no idea where to go from here, or if there is another easy way to unroot.

Providing you have no lag fix just leave the root app on the phone as the new rom you flash will delete it. Once you have your stock rom back on the phone the root app will be gone, then do a factory reset then it will be as good as new
I am having a similar problem I rooted with odin and now I have to send it in for a hardware warrenty issue. How do I go back to a stock phone?

Just pick up a stock rom from samfirmware.com with a pit file, and flash with odin, and you are good to return for warranty

Make sure you grab a stock rom that was designated for your phone's product code though. Some service centres may refuse warranty otherwise.

[Q] Stock or Rooted

So now we are slowly getting our devices, thought I'd all who's rommed already & who's stayed stock.
Rommed or stock?
Do they get reinstalled if we flash a stock I'm still stock, I read somewhere about if you unlock boot loader you lose some apps?
Are they reinstalled if a stock ruu is flashed?

Can you please explain me some things?
If there will be updates in sense 5 for example, and you installer a custom rom, can you still update of do have to wait for a new rom?
Next, why is rooting so much better then stock rom?
Back on topic.
Rooted or stock

They already solved these issues by pulling the apps and posting them (the thread is around here somewhere) so you can reinstall after you unlock bootloader
Stock (o2)
S-Off = HTC-RUU = Free Update... last "to do" = Custom Rom

I take it your staying Stock for now?
I must admit I'm itching to root & rom.
Rooted today, couldn't resist. Probably not wise since I was considering returning due to a gap at the top and also in the volume rocker.
Rooted all the way you can do so much more with the phone. I'm on renovate
nice rom has battery percentage and quick toggles all good

Successful Unroot Options

I am returning my phone back to stock so I can trade it in. I found a few threads on here that have ways to unroot but some seem questionable. Can anyone point me in the right direction to unroot an official Kit Kat updated device?
Thanks
Assuming you have supersu, uninstall all of your apps that have root access (for safestrap, busybox, etc make sure to uninstall the in-app stuff first), i would reboot here but that may not be necessary...then open up supersu and choose "full unroot". Then factory reset and double check status is official ☺
If you get a custom screen after that try rerooting then full unroot with supersu again
Edit: I stand corrected - flashing NC2 with Odin is easiest
Yeah I have su. So before I do this should I restore my stock rom I have backed up via safestrap? I am currently running dynamic kat 5.0
You can also reinstall factory firmware with Odin, then factory reset.

Yea @440bro 's suggestion is way easier since Odin removes all of that! unroot with SuperSU does work but it's a long way around for just returning to stock
please help

I installed stock custom rom using safestrap but when I reboot or turn device on, I get a safestrap enabled cartoon thing asking to continue or recover. Did you backup stock rom before you flashed the custom rom in safestrap? if yes, reflash your backup in safestrap then the steps in post #2 should work. If no, I'm really not sure how going through that unroot process with SuperSU while still on a custom rom would work out...Odin is much easier and more reliable so if there's any way you can get to a PC you might want to go that route.
Also if you're selling online you might find some people who do want to buy a rooted Note 3...I sold a phone on swappa a few months ago and there were people looking specifically for rooted phones. The 'cartoon thing' is safestrap and is exactly what you want to see when you turn on a rooted AT&T Note 3

Thanks for your feel good message...made my day. I thought I backed up stock rom however being an obviously root virgin...When I went to factory reset, everything was gone except for my ugly cartoony friend. Luckily I am able to read in small doses so I was able to do whatever it was I did to get her running factory...still rooted and unlocked. When you mentioned that people on swappa might be interested in a rooted device WITH my lonely friend at startup? I felt all fuzzy. I will post an ad on swappa later today in your honor my mysterious phoneguardian angel. Thanks again.

Best way to go from Tizen back to Null

I can't seem to be able to go back to Null after installing Tizen. I tried going back to 4.2.2 rom but it dies during download mode. I can't seem to revive it with any other rom unless I use the Tizen one.
Try thIs. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2776157

I read that thread entirely. Some users reported they had to complete the entire process 3 or more times. It eventually took. Try factory resetting a few times. The problem seems to be that not all of the Tizen software is removed, leaving the touchscreen inoperable.

Went through the Tizen to Android tutorial from the link above
Installed latest 4.2.2 firmware for my gear via Odin
Installed null_03_TWRP2 via Odin
Moved null_23.zip to the phone via fastboot
Works now

Unroot without computer

So, I had an issue with the charging port on my Nexus 6 and Motorola is sending out a replacement phone. This is actually the second time this has happened. Anyway, the last time it happened, I was able to get a USB connection and unroot the phone and wipe everything before sending it back to Motorola. This time however, one of the pins on the USB connection has broken and I believe it is one that is used for data transfer and my PC won't recognize the device. I know how to unroot with a computer connection, but I was wondering if anyone knew how to unroot without a computer? I'm still able to move files on and off the phone via wifi, cell and Bluetooth. Thanks in advance for any help.
There's a full unroot option in SuperSU, afterwords you can flash stock rom, not sure how you will get the bootloader locked though
Ok, I found the option in SuperSU for the full unroot. Thanks for that. Now to figure out how to lock the bootloader...

Are you already on stock ROM?
I'm currently running PureNexus - the replacement phone is set to arrive tomorrow, so I'm trying to plan ahead since Motorola only allows so many days to receive the old phone before they keep my $500 deposit...

I don't know how you'll be able to flash the stock ROM tbh without fastboot as well as relocking the bootloader. Maybe it would be possible to setup a SSH connection to your phone and send the fastboot commands through there? Not sure, not a pro at this, maybe someone else can lean in here and help you out
Do you have twrp installed, you can copy a stock image over and flash it with twrp. If not, box it up and cross your fingers. I doubt you will have any trouble. Everyone worries about this but never seen anyone say they got denied.
Google The Magnuson Moss Warranty Act. It says manufacturers can't deny warranty unless they can show what you did caused the issue. This is a physical issue, obviously you didn't.
Link to use twrp to flash.

Yes, I have TWRP installed. If I can't find another way, I'll flash a stock rom over it and hope for the best. Thanks!!

Than maybe I had done something different about a week ago or so. I was on stock rooted with twrp took the update and I'm positive that it flashed stock recovery over twrp. I'm now unrooted with stock recovery. I did not use the computer or manually flashed anything in twrp

I can verify that when I first joined the beta program I successfully took the OTA with TWRP and it rebooted to stock recovery.
So what your saying is I should be able to flash a stock rom with twrp and take an ota update and it should go back to the stock bootloader? Will this also relock the bootloader as well?
From what I know it will take everything back to stock except relocking the bootloader. For that you need to fastboot lock the device. What I have read through several sites is that having an unlocked bootloader it will not affect warranty fixes or replacements..
