Description: This is the official version of Android 4.3 pushed to phones via OTA on January 7, 2014. Shortly thereafter an Odin package was posted that contains the entire firmware, not just the update package that was pushed via OTA. This firmware adds compatibility with the Samsung Galaxy Gear, enables drag and drop to uninstall or disable applications, and adds more AT&T bloat. Since new bootloaders are included in this update there is currently no other way to downgrade to any of the other firmwares. A brief changelog for the release by AT&T can be found here. Please read this important note about the ML2 bootloader before flashing, it provides a way to preserve the ability to downgrade. A listing of failed root methods and discussion for ML2 can be found in this thread.

Saferoot ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2565758 ) worked for MI2 for me. Is there anyone who has tried it (or would be willing to try it) on ML2? I'm sorry if this has been covered somewhere. I just spent the past hour or so catching up on things I've missed in the past few weeks and didn't see record of anyone attempting it, but I easily could have missed it.

There are some discussions in this thread, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2606550, about how MI2 works but ML2 does not. Once again, there still is no root whatsoever for the official 4.3 (ML2) for the time being. (1/31/14)
Also on a side note, a lot of people are getting confused between MI2 root which is root for the "LEAKED" version of 4.3 and ML2 which is the "OFFICIAL" version of 4.3 which can't be rooted as of now. Just hopefully people will catch on the difference between MI2 and ML2

Please read the descriptions for the firmware in the OP. If you want to be on the latest official firmware, flash ML2. You will lose root with no way to get it back and you will not be able to downgrade to any other firmware. If this is troubling to you then flash anything else.

I read through that post and it is starting to sound like that is the route to go, flash Ml2's bootloader with ML2. I think the last person I saw who posted said his wifi worked along with everything else others had issues with after.
I am still pretty new to android os's, but is the locked bootloader something that would keep me from successfully backing up my entire system(MF3, 4.2.2, safestrap, rooted, unlocked), then installing ML2, then running a restore of my MF3 backup? I know that sounds silly, but if I could restore MF3, I could help experiment with this ML2 situation, i.e. getting root to work or who knows maybe even figuring out this locked bootloader issue we are dealing with. I guess the problem would be I would need to be rooted to do a full restore, correct?

Sorry for the confusion, this thread is for the AT&T stock firmware, I should have put that in the title of the thread. I would add the Mexico and Uruguay versions, but I don't know enough about it and I don't want AT&T users to try using firmware that isn't meant for their phone.

I'm going to bet that it won't flash since the Telcel users were unable to flash the AT&T ML2 firmware. If you do try this, I would be very hesitant to flash the included bootloader. If you are able to keep the bootloader from either MF1 or MI2 you will allow yourself an escape path back to other firmware. Good luck.
Thanks for the advice!

Are you currently on ML2? If you are can you try flashing the ML2 bootloader for the i9295 from sammobile? I'm guessing it will fail to flash, but if it is successful you have the potential for an unlocked i537. Be careful because you could also end up bricking your phone flashing any firmware or bootloader.
hey Devo7v, ive read on the web ML3 from TELCEL works on neAT&Tidy's S4A, unfortunatly I downloaded soemthing else, im re downloading now, but only goes at 300kbs with means forever for 1.4gb (about an hour says Chrome)
I own a C6903 in USA.. the firmware version is 14.3.A.0.757 Customized UK
I am constantly and annoyingly receiving OTA update notification about the 14.4.A.0.108 update, but it cannot update because of 'could not verify' error. It also cannot update through the PC companion software, it says 'the phone/tablet contains modified software that cannot be updated'
Any idea on the cause of this error? Can anyone suggest a suitable firmware that can receive OTA update?
You have a rooted device or modified in some other way.
It's good that Sony prevented Ota updates for such devices as back in the days it caused a hard brick.
If you want to update then you can do this in a few ways :
Put your phone into flash mode and update via pc companion (your phone will be 100% wiped including internal storage)
Download an FTF from xda and flash it via flash tool (all will be wiped)
Get yourself a recovery from @[NUT] download a custom rom with the firmware of your choice and flash it. There are some that will not wipe your phone and you'll keep root that way.
Good luck
thanks a lot for clear and concise direction... got to update using the flashtool... everything good so far...

Updating is easy and if Sony PC Companion is malfunctioning, you could use Flashtool ( get it here )
After that you can download the latest firmware ( ftf format ) here
There are some guides on how to flash the latest firmware, and don't worry flashing won't void your warranty or root your device.
This is the best and the most informative click me
Good luck
Hi
If I do that, will ota updates work in future?
Don't have time to fiddle around too much now and again every time there's an update,
Any ideas how to get it to pick up the ota update, which I'm sure has already been released for its region?
There's a thread around here with a tool to download the official full firmware files per region and flash them to your phone.
As long as you use a region that's compatible (with radios and all) the effect should be a perfectly fresh installed stock phone that will pick up OTA's just like any other official firmware.
sony flashtool or something? I can't remember.
Hi,
The firmware thats on the phone is global region,
23.0.A.2.93 - Unbranded - GLOBAL (1286-9917) #1
But i dont see lollipop updates for it.
Which region firmware should i use to flash?? Which would work 100%
Pls help with some advise asap which will work
Hi guys, i have a problem.
I've tried to install xposed but i bricked my device, so i flashed the old firmware (only cust.img,boot.img,system.img and recovery.img) and now..the phone is working but the sim is not detected..any idea to solve this?
[UPDATE - I've stock rom and i'm on b133 firmware]
You need to go to stock firmware B052, stock recovery and wipe data after fully installation.
Then you need to do an OTA update to 170 and then and OTA update to 180.
After update to one of those OTA updates, your ril (sim) will work again without a problem.

Here is the post, http://forum.xda-developers.com/p8lite/general/huawei-p8-lite-android-6-0-marshmallow-t3309796 download the B152 firmaware and flash it, you can follow the instructions provided by the OP. after that maybe you will recover yoir IMEI or you wont, in any case just update via OTA to 177 version and the IMEI will be restored, exactly the same thing happened to me and that was how I solved
regards
PD In the case you have the balong issue here is the fix for the B152
You can also download it from here:

that happended to me when i downgraded but if you OTA update that should sort the problem out, thats what work for me anyway.
I just got a new Z3+ to replace my old one that got broken. The new one had Android 6.0.0 and immediately updated to 6.0.1 32.2.A.0.253. But now it says my system is up-to-date and doesn't show nougat available. I went to the Sony support website (https://support.sonymobile.com/us/software/#gref) and entered the IMEI and it also says "Your Xperia Z3+ is up-to-date release 32.2.A.0.253". Right under that, it has a block that says "My Android Information" and it says Android 7.1 Nougat is released for Xperia Z3+. (See attached image)
So, I'm confused. Do I need to give it more time and maybe it will show the OTA update available?
I don't seem to be able to restore my Google backup from the old phone while the Android versions are mismatched.

For your region it may not released. You can flash Naugat update of any region through Flashtool, but you have read and understand the process and need to do the experiment (no need to unlock bootloader). I have flashed different versions (upgrade or downgrade) using flashtool number of times.
Check this link for more information and step by step guide. Do all your experiments at your own risk

Do you mean a region associated with the phone, or the carrier (T-mobile)? My old phone is a Z3+ and it updated to Nougat automatically. If there's a region associated with the phone, is there a way to see that?
If it is Carrier locked, then carrier specific else region specific update to be released. If your phone is locked with T-Mobile, don't try to use flashtool. I not aware of carrier locked phones flashing.

I went ahead and flashed it manually via FlashTool and all is good now. Once it was updated, it saw my Google backup and I was able to restore it. Thanks for the help.
