Does anyone know if the battery is good using [ROM][AOSP] S4 Google Edition [SafeStrap] on the SGH-I537? I'm thinking about flashing it. I tried hyperdrive and the battery life sucks.

Hey guys, just thought I'd poll and ask some questions?
So if looking for the best possible battery life (over peformance) which is recommended,
true official stock samsung ROM? or stock ROM e.g. Adrenaline ROM etc
I've tried Stocklite, Adrenaline and am currently using Thunderbolt. However my battery life never goes over a day, even with Juice Defender Ultimate and SetCPU profiles.
Any one else have any experiences with good roms? Battery calbiration tips? charging tips anything?
Thanks

1.The battery life depends more upon your baseband rather than the roms.
Ofcourse the roms do make a difference!
Eg. Earlier i was using Stocklite v7.1 on DDKQ8, and it used to last a day, now on XWKTM it lasts more than that.
2.The battery calliberation is said to be a myth as an official google android developer stated that it does not affect the battery in anyway. (Tried it personally too, no change in battery life!)
3.Underclock when you are not using heavy apps on your phone.
4.The way you use your phone makes a great difference, switch off the bluetooth, gps, data, wifi when not needed! Reduce the brightness, it saves the battery!
Hope all this would help you!
So i've been using the leaked stock JB ROM for a while now and seem to always get poor battery life. If I get through a day I'm lucky. It just seems to suck up power even when I'm not using it. Is this a kernel issue or should I be looking at some other problem? Here's the link to the ROM: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2007589
You should be looking for apps sucking battery.. Use better battery stats. I'm on the same rom and it's ok for me.
I currently use the official stable Sense 5 ROM that shipped with my phone, only rooted and am quite fond of the battery life. I use the Power saver feature and get excellent battery life with it.
My question is...
Has anyone done the full conversion to the Google Play Edition and gotten as good or better battery life without this sort of power saver feature?
don't hate Sense 5 but I like the intended functionality of AOSP

AOSP ! = GPe
Based on the battery stats thread, it's really a tossup. I think most get better battery from Sense, but I don't think it's that different.
Hi,
Yesterday i rooted my Galaxy Note using the LiveNote ROM.
The ROM itself is very good, very smooth and retaining that Touchwiz look that i love but i have found it have serious effects on my battery life. The battery life is diabolical, only lasting 1 hour and 22 minutes of screen time, half of which i was using wifi. Before the root, my battery was not good anyway, only lasting about 3 hours screentime but this new ROM has pretty much crippled my phone.
What i want to know is this, is there any way of keeping this ROM but vastly improving battery life, say to where i was before at around 3 hours screentime? OR perhaps is there another ROM with decent performance, using the Touchwiz interface and also having good battery life?
The phone is running Jellybean 4.1.2 and i am using Philz.
Regards
James

There is a way:
Start reading the uncountable (and mostly idiotic) threads about bad battery life after flashing a ROM.
Or read threads about battery life when the baterry is older than a year.
If that is too difficult or if you are too lazy then please stay on stock ROM - not only the life of the battery will benefit from it.

I do agree mostly with the previous reply.
Still, Sweet Rom 10.5 has good batery life and performance. Live Note seems to come with c.o.h kernel which has Gpu OC. Unless you have change kernel that may affected batery.

I am having the same problem with my ace. I know it's old, but I used to get 2~3 days use out of it before this new rom I just flashed. Now I'm lucky to get more than 1/2 a day. I've used betterbatterystats and I think it's the Google Play Services...the phone was awake 100%..it wouldn't go into deep sleep. I tried disabling then just uninstalled it. I'm going to try reading up on the BBS to see if I can understand how to fix this..if not I'll have to find another rom. But I really like this one...
This is what is giving me the problem,
[ROM][CM7.2] <<<<||The Ultimatum||>>>> !!!Updated!!! [01|02|2014]
Any suggestions for a rom that is lite and stable, not too flashy, that will give me a bit more life for my ace?
My model is GTS5830D
Hi,
As for the battery drain issues, you can go through the thread given below to see how you can improve battery life & performance of ace. @Venomous Viper 119 has provided us with an incredible guide. As for the script, go with Pure Performance X and I guarantee you won't regret it.

Pure Performance X for Galaxy Ace
As for the lite and stable rom, go for AOSP Gingerbread for Cooper by @SpaceCaker. It is incredibly fast, stable and not too flashy. Try Pure Performance X with this rom and you have a beast in your hand.
