I recently got a Flex, its a beauty of a phone, runs great but lately it gives me this blue screen of death. The phone gets hot, it shows a solid blue screen and stays that way until i reset it or it runs out of battery. I've never seen anything like it on a android phone..
is this a common issue? or should i try taking it back?
thanks in advance

Definitely take it back. Never heard of that and it's most certainly a defect of some sort.

First I've heard of that. Probably some terrorist spyware lol
same issue
i had the same issue, but after i removing the back cover the problem solved (everything run normal) but everytime i put on the back cover then its occurs again (bluescreen). Later i know the cause, everytime the motherboard get a pressure then the BSOD accurs.
any idea ??

Hello guys I never noticed it but for some time I noticed something strange on the screen of my galaxy S. Putting it in landscape in the upper left corner i see the notification bar as if it's printed on the screen. I don't post any screen because in these you can't see what you see on the screen phone and that's what worries me
Sorry for my english

Well since the picture is already burned in to your screen, the only way to fix it is to change the display. If you haven't opened the phone etc. then you can just take it to a service centre. I'm quite sure that burn in is covered under the warranty, so you won't have to pay anything.
You could first try to take the battery out for a couple of hours and see if it helps.
If that doesn't work, you can try to somehow put a bright white on the whole screen on the phone and keep it about an hour.
If none of those solutions work, just take it to a service centre.

Well yes, you've had the problem once so you could have it again. But warranties are there to ensure that you have a product that functions as expected. If Samsung are willing replace the item at no charge under warranty then it's obvious this is not the expected behaviour. Based on that logic not only is it your right to get a replacement, Samsung aren't really expecting it to happen again, otherwise burn in would be expected behaviour and not covered under warranty. Anyway my point, although so far, poorly made, is that it's not expected to happen again. Well that and so few other people have the same problem, it's extremely unlikely that it will happen again.

Exactly. Burn in is probably quite rare, especially in LED and LCD screens. I was actually surprised when I read your post. Old CRT screens used to get burn in quite often if one screen was left on for a long time. But since SGS has an AMOLED screen, the chances of a burn in happening again any time soon is quite slim.
You can try one of them burn in repair videos that just keep flashing colours that they use to unstuck pixels on lcd screens. You can get the video from youtube or anyplace you can and set media player to loop for a few hours. It might fix burn in.

Actually that wouldn't work, since the screen is AMOLED. There isn't any crystals that get stuck in one position. In LCD screens the pixels are tiny crystals that move in a way that a color is reflected to the screen. Sometimes these crystals get stuck in one position and so they show one color constantly. AMOLED screens have tiny LEDs that provide the colors to the screen. These can't get stuck, but they do wear out or burn out which leads to the colors not being produced correctly, and for that reason it'll look like a picture is stuck on the screen. That's something you probably can't do anything about.
Ok i'll see what to do.
Thanks to all!

I have this problem with my screen that when i watch my screen directly white is more yellow or "creme" than white but when i tilt the phone up aown left right white turns white. I just wonder if that is good reson enough to exhance my note to new or get refound? And how do i show it to those warranty guys?
ps. no matter if use dynamic normal or movie the white is yellowish. And no screen adjust or power savior are on. And its also doesnt depend on screen brigthness. It looks yellowish at full and min and all in between...
I love the screen and cant buy smaller but is this hardware or software and are every one a little defected? I mean do i have to change 5 times to get good screen?
I could live with the withe but because i dont have black clipping ect so is it worthy to try change? Or does ics fix this?

No it wont but having a little yellowish screen is not the only thing that can go wrong whit note screen black crash , clipping dead pixels..
Sure you can send phone 40 times to repair or change but every time you end up with out a phone for days or weeks so the point is that if you buy a phone it should work without trying 10 phones untill it works like it should.. (And no i do not own iPhone)
Are you sure that the screen mode is on "Standard" and not "Movie" ?

Last night my phone got a text and when I took it out my pocket the screen would not turn on. It was just blank. The buttons next to the home button still light up and the LED light still flashes. Vibrate still works etc. I took the battery out and out it back in... nope the screen is buggered. It has no water damage and it hasn't been dropped etc.
Just thought I would post this in case anyone has any similar problems.
I'm so angry If I'm being honest... my phone store wouldn't even send it away for me... they asked me to phone customer services and pack it and send it away myself. I have exams etc so its something I refused to do. Thankfully another store helped me out but I have never been so angry at a combination of companies. I have already spend £100 up front for the phone. Now I have no phone and apparently there is none in stock so I'll have to wait until they are ready. Not even given a replacement.

I had a similar issue with my first S4. It randomly rebooted numerous times and I had it for a little under a day. I took it back the next day and swapped out my white S4 with a black one and all has been well thus far. My buddy also had an issue with his screen as well. He went to put a case on it and the screen flickered and died. He too had to get a replacement. Your situation is a little more drastic but it seems we aren't the only ones with screen issues.

It is ridiculous that the screens are faulty in the first place but if they could just give me a new one like yours I would have been as happy as larry. Did you lose all the apps etc you had downloaded? I bought ice age and everything =/
apparently my phone company only replaces new items within 7 days. If my screen broke tonight instead of last night I would not have been given a replacement and would have got a "re-furbished" one. ARRRHHHH I would have torn the place down if they had said that to me!
I've had got mine 4/29 and have had no issue except for that lag when to much crap is open in the background.

I had my phone for about 2 days and I noticed that the screen would flicker. Since it was my first Amoled I just figured it was something I would have to get used too. Well the flicker started to get worse and even made it difficult to read anything on the phone. So I took it into sprint and told them I wanted a new one, not some returned or beat up phone.
There was a problem with the screen after all and they did give me a new in box phone. Haven't had an issue since. With any new product it just seems you might get lucky.
OK, I've noticed a strange occurrence that happens on my phone, its like the screen shifts down. What's up with that? I've attached an image below showing you what I mean.

I'm thinking it might be a software issue, I didn't notice this until I updated from 5.0.1 to 5.1

with that line down the middle it seems like it's a permutation of the screen tearing effect.

Known issue on the Nexus 6. Some devices the screen will "split" or tear down the middle and be unresponsive. I've had it happen. Your picture shows a definite line down the middle of your screen and I wonder if it is just another version of that issue.
line through screen
Hi guys
I too have the same issues with the Nexus 6. I notice it every time I watch netflix. Watching it horizontally, I will hat a horizantal line in middle and then sometimes even a vertical line. SO it looks like 4 window panes. I have to shut off phone to correct issue. Please let me know if you come up with a fix.
Thanks

Does the screen go black, or does it freeze. If it is the latter, most people say an RMA will resolve it.

It continues playing the movie with the black line. I have read this happens often w Netflix our this phone.
Happened to me too. I've read that for some people locking and then unlocking the screen solves it but I had to restart it to bring it back to normal. The screen stayed responsive though.
I can only assume that no fix for this has been found. I also have the issue, though turning off the screen and turning it back on fixes it until the next time it messes up.

My nexus 6 started having this problem from a few weeks ago. I think I saw the black-line-in-the-middle issue initially as well, but the prevalent issue for me right now is shifted or wrapped-around screen (need to figure out how to post a picture - this is my first post). The amount of shift sometimes varies (as much as half of the screen), and the video playback is not affected (phone works fine other than the screen shift), and screen is not frozen. I have had the phone for about 6 months (T-mobile) and it's not rooted and it has the latest android version (5.1.1 I think). Initially it showed up when playing netflix for a while (like 10 minutes), then it happened in youtube as well. It only happens when the screen is in landscape mode, and it does not happen every time. Turning off the screen then turning it back on does not make the problem go away. Only reboot can fix the issue, but the problem will come back after some play time.
I haven't seen any post talking about the same problem, let alone people talking about this kind of problem 6 months after using their phones (most screen problems reported are within a few days after the phone was received). Anyone has similar experience? I haven't talked to t-mobile yet but I will. The last android update on my phone was from a while ago so it shouldn't be related to that, but it could be related to netflix/youtube app updates but I don't remember when I updated last time. I am also using a phone cover with a lid which I expect would make heat dissipation situation worse but I started using that cover many months ago so I don't think it should be related either.
Not same issue I'm quite sure but I had a small think black like going across my screen, just appeared one day... This line didn't quite touch the edges of the screen but had an even gap on each side where it ended. I did a factory reset and no dice so I ended up taking it back to Sprint and after attempting to tighten a ribbon and they could not fix it they ordered me a new one and I see now that my og N6 was indeed defective as the speakers sounded completely different and on this new one speakers don't sound like crap.. Tk God for insurance.
Hi.
I have the weirdest issue: My screen flashes when I try to turn it on, but refuses to give me any picture. Here's the weird part: It only happens when the phone is cold (approx under 22c, 72f). Now to be clear, the screen works at any temperature I've attempted to use it in. It just won't START in those "low" temperatures. When it's running it'll keep running with zero problems.
The touch works when I attempt to turn on the screen, regardless of if it actually turns on or not.
I've tried complete factory wipe, and even downgraded the OS via the huawei program on PC. Only difference was that sometimes when it would have flashed it gets stuck on a green glitchy pattern.
I'm fairly proficient in electronics, but I can't think of any reason why it would act this way.
It's clear I'll have to send the phone for repairs, but I'm out of warranty so I'd rather find a fix I can do myself (even if it's complicated, I've got access to microscope and fine soldering equipment), and MOST IMPORTANTLY I want to figure out WHY this is happening.
Tell me if any specific information could help figuring out what is wrong.
Send to service... replace screen in warranty...
my p20 pro also did it... i walk to service, replace screen in warranty within 3hours...

Looks very much like an unstable contact that was "slapped" back by the fall. If you really want to know what was the issue you should open up your phone and tell us all.

How would temperature effect an unstable contact?
I would open my phone but I don't have a heat gun.
Thermal expansion, maybe?
I think mine does the same thing. Only ever notice it outside, where I have to keep trying to open my screen, while it keeps flashing, and when I wake up in the morning and usually have to fully restart my phone to use it.
