After updating my firmware with the sony update program, some programs can't access my sd card, such as smart voice recorder and nandroid backup.
Is there any way to fix this?
Thanks

I only had a small microSD when I rooted. I ordered a bigger card. When I get the new one can I just copy the files from my original card to my pc and then copy them on to the new card? Maybe a dumb question..I am new to rooting.
I have Titanium backup, what do you recommend should be backed up?? I will have a 16gb card coming. Should I back up everything?? Thanks for any help you can give me. Great forum..I am hooked1
Yes, you can simply transfer the files from card to card. I do it all the time. You don't even need to employ titanium backup at all unless you are changing or reinstalling roms, or doing a factory reset and re-rooting. If you ARE doing that I would suggest doing the "Apps + Data" batch backup. This will restore applications in there exact state.
But if you are just swapping memory cards the only thing I would suggest is that you take advantage of any backup to-sd card features your apps might have before you copy files from one sd card to the other. Then you can restore anything that apps might save on your sdcard(which Titatium backup by the way doesn't save anyways).
Hello all. Is there a way to remove the internal SD card so it won't be wiped when I do my updating? and if so how? Thanks
Umm copy it all to your pc before you update. Or root and backup with tibu if you are talking about apps. The internal sdcard can't be removed and the phone still be able to work, it's a 16gb flash drive that also contains the os. That would be like taking the hard drive out of your computer to update windows.
thanks . I finally figured that out. Can someone get me a link to SuperOneClick v1.7 . I'm trying to get the one that has the rage option. thanks again
Hi, I have a Moto G 2014 with Stock 5.0.2 rooted, and I bought a 32GB SD Card a few days ago. The thing is that everything is still going to the internal memory, instead of the SD (photos, downloads, etc.), so I want to know if it's a way to make everything write on the SD card without messing up the phone (I heard I can mount SD in /sdcard changing init.rc but I don't want to do that). I also want to move my WhatsApp chats to the SD too, hehehehe (WhatsApp data is in the internal :'c)
Thanks in advance.
Hi,
For the photos and videos part, you can select from the camera application if you want to store them in the internal memory or on the SD card. For applications I think they are installed in the internal memory by default but you can move them after installation on the SD card by going to settings -> apps -> touch app -> move to SD card. To change the default installation location you need the android SDK installed on your PC and adb and then to edit a file. But I do not recommend this since the SD card is not accessible while the phone is connected to the PC. This will make applications that always run to work improperly(widgets, Facebook, etc. might generate a lot of errors because of it).
I think it's a Xposed module for that.

if you're rooted then try link2sd from play store. you need to have an ext partition on your sd card for this to work.
if you are not rooted then you will have to manually create symlinks to the files on the sd card.

Better try Link2SD. The procedure to turn your external SD to internal storage causes a lot of trouble in most cases.
There are also scripts that link the possible apps and libraries automatically to the SD card when installing them.
I have recently upgraded to MM on my H811. I found out that LG has disabled the feature to mount SD cards as internal storage. OK that sucks but I have lots of space for my other media. I am having nothing but problems. Titanium Backup seems to fail when I set the backup folder to the SD. Quickpic, which I have used for ages keeps giving me this message when I try to delete or modify camera images that are on the SD card. For the record, Quickpic permissions are set to for it to access storage.

I was making twrp backups to ext SD card. But it won't restore the same twrp backup from ext SD. Wtf?
For now, I went back to 5.1. Too many other problems all solved now that I am back on 5.1 Maybe when we get a few updates in I will try again.
My Z3+ was acting strange after OTA to android 6.0, so decided to repair with PC companion.
I did backup but didn't backed up SD card, at that moment I thought it wouldn't be necessary because repair doesn't delete anything.
And it's true but I completely forgot that my phone was encrypted, also the SD card.
So now I can't use my SD card files. Any one know if I can get encryption key from my backup? I know the unlock password but I suspect it uses another one that was on my old system
Thanks!
