Can't switch to mtp - Verizon LG G2

Hi i have an lg g2 on Verizon. I have the Optimus G3 rom installed (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2788077). I plugged my phone into my computer and it would automatically go into mtp mode by default. But then i decided to switch the mode to LG software or charge phone. Now when ever i click on mtp again it just goes into charge only mode. I have tried everything. Then i decided to restore to my stock rom backup from twrp. Then when i plugged it in to my computer it worked fine. It would go straight into mtp mtp mode. Then i restored back to my Optimus G3 backup but it didnt fix anything. I believe it is a problem with the rom. If i re-installed the rom i'm pretty sure it would work fine. But i really don't wanna re-install everything. There has to be an easier fix. Please help
Thanks

Need Help with Boot Loop/ USB Issues

I recently tried Updating From Fasty 2.5 to Fasty II using rom manager with the most recent version of recovery installed. I had it Backup the preveious rom and wipe the data and delvik cash. everything seemed to be going fine until it rebooted and now it wont go passed the at&t World phone screen.
Another issue is i now can't seem to get into the recovery menu no matter what buttons I push. I can get it to download mode but for the life of me I can not seem to get any version of Odin to recognize the phone windows doesn't even recognize it when it was working when i'd plug it into any usb port. (This did work when I first rooted the phone but after no dice for usb)
If anyone can help me I'd greatly appreciate it
U can't use Rom Manager to go from a Froyo Rom to a Gingerbread Rom. Try rebooting ur computer. Mayber that'll help Odin and windows to recognize ur phone.
Ok so i redid everything you said. I think part of my usb is dead or something (I was able to still charge until now it seems i plug it in while off but i don't get the big battery icon just the little Star like loading thing and then it stops).
my wife's phone is found fine, but my phone just is not recognized. thanks for the help but looks like i need to contact at&t or samsung unless you know of a fix for the USB issue i am having.

[Q] Another (really) Bricked LG Optimus 2X?

So I'd been using CM7 for quite some time and recently broke things horribly when I tried to use ROM Manager to check for the latest nightlies. It hosed my phone and left me in a constantly rebooting logo state. I was able to fix that by wiping everything and rebooting but then decided, "Hey - why not get the latest nightly?". So I downloaded the latest nightly and the latest nightly failed to install. It asserted on failing to find p990 or something.
So I wasn't sure what to do at that point. If the nightly didn't work anymore, maybe I'd just try to install a recovery image so I took out the SD card and copied the img file to it and put it back in. I put the battery back in and at this point the phone wouldn't come to life. Not a spark. I tried plugging it into the wall, a USB port, the system reset... nothing. No life at all.
Am I totally borked or is there any hope here?
Update: I managed to get into the S/W Update screen (battery out while plugging into the USB port) but I can't get OneClick to re-flash because it won't recognize the USB device).

if your using windows, goto device manager, while phone is plugged in, look at the device list, select lg something(your phone), then uninstall that profile, then plug your phone again, it will ask for drivers etc. proceed with installation, then it'll be ok again..
You have a P999, not a P990, hence the assert check fail.
With that in mind, you will need to NVFlash over a new recovery, then you can boot into it and fix the phone. Look in the G2X development forum and grab one + some instructions.

Rom manager is supposed to auto detect what he has tho and give him rom results based on his device.
On mine ROM Manager gives me a bunch of options when first picking a recovery, if he picked P990 there...
Yeah it asks what device u have, think there is about 4 to choose from

Yep. It was an incorrect ROM selection. I was able to breath life back into it by reflashing it to a stock image and then the proper Cyanogen.
As for the ROM Manager - the biggest problem with using that is that it rebooted the phone and left me looping on the animation. It broke me in the first place. Maybe a bug with the LG G2X version?

[Q] Can I send a rooted phone in to LG for repair?

OTA bricked phone, still booting to Cyanogen, can't restore from nandroid, just boots back into CWM...if I send that in to LG as a last ditch effort, is it covered?

Can you get into Download mode?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2448960
Hey Matt, no download mode...only CWM...when I try to restore a backup, it goes through the restore and then boots back into CWM. I've tried everything I can that I have found on here...even the ubuntu way, but I can't even see the device with ubuntu...something about qualcom drivers that I can't install.
the LG Flash tool requires download, I've been through that process before. I was hoping that since I can still get into CWM, i would still be good, but alas, NOTHING WORKS, lol.

Are you using the LG cable that came with the phone for your download mode attempt? I thought I read others have issues when not using it. If you are, sorry, no other ideas here.

i can get into sideload mode, but can't send any other rom to the phone, only CM roms start to load, but then nothing...everything else says cannot read sideload
ADB push isn't working right either, maybe I'm doing something wrong with the command, but i've done it before on other phones...maybe LG is weird

Big Problem [LG L90 D405n]

Hi everyone,
Shows up an official update on phone of my girlfriend, and after downloaded the update, the phone reboots and shows CWM.
It doesn't appears the package for installation of update. What I need to to for I install the update?
I try turn on the phone but I can't because the phone restarts and shows CWM.
What I need to do?!
I start the phone, I reboot the phone, always show CWM. The phone can't plug by USB to computer... I have a phone bricked??!?!
Please, anyone to help?
hello,
is the same thing happened to me yesterday.
You can download the USB drivers from the LG site and install without plug the phone.
Then off the phone, plug phone via usb on pc and turn on it by holding the volume -, it start in download mode.
Then with lg support tool you can do the update online and install it on the phone.
After this update, however, you lose the root and cwm,
I'm trying to find on xda how to root again with v10d....
sorry for my english....
Here also a problem, can't pass twrp... Can't restore any update...
I removed battery, connect with usb cable & hold volume + (if you have installed and opened LG Mobile Support Tool), it will go to download mode and you can reinstal software.
(I edit post if I have more info)
Bingo!! New software version, 10d, no twrp or root
Root and unlock again, flash twrp again -> also be able to restore old back ups (removed original LG back up, so now on new software LG)
Yes, sorry... it was VolumeUp for starting in download mode...
The good news is that root for me works with this guide!!!
http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-l90/general/guide-root-l90-varients-updates-t2928364
d405n v10d
I'm making now a nandroid backup

Root is also working for me, I also was be able to unlock the bootloader with about.bin for v10b. After that I reflashed twrp and could use my old back up (deleted my old LG back up!).

She say that software is different..

Bricked lg g2.. Access to download mode and recovery

Hi Guys,
I haven't been on here for ages but decided to get my old lg g2 back up and running. When using a custom rom i accidentally deleted the everything.
The phone will not boot and only stay on the lg g2 screen.
I can access recovery but obviously it cannot see a rom now. I can also access download mode, the computer can see it as it now displays a large number of connected drives in My computer.
Whats my best solution to recover? Can i just add a rom to one of the drives and ask recovery to find it and install from there?
Install lg stock rom back via r&d tool.
Any help appreciated.
Fantastic phone so would like to get it running again.
Thanks in advance

Place a ROM zip in your sdcard or internal storage and flash through recovery
