[Q] Changing MAC id on xperia ZR ? - Sony Xperia ZR

Is it possible to change the mac id of xperia ZR ?
I have found 2 ways to change the mac id as of now,
1.by editing /data/etc/wlan_macaddr0 (but i suppose there will authentication problem while connecting) :fingers-crossed:
2.by editing /etc/firmware/wcnss/prima/wcnss_qcom_cfg.ini and /etc/firmware/wcnss/prima/wcnss_qcom_nv.bin
Spoof using any one of these methods and connect to your AP, check the phone MAC id from the AP logs...
You can also post any other method if its working for 4.4.2 stock on ZR.
Can anybody confirm whether any of these methods are working in 10.5.A.0.230 on Xperia ZR ?
Note: MAC address spoofing by itself is not considered illegal, masquerading into networks and stealing data or damaging computers is illegal.
Thanks

i check all version but not work right now running
Android version : 4.1.2
Build version: 1.08.502.1 CL180011 Release-keys
Baseband : 1.15.40.00.13_2_10.64.40.33AL
I have found MEDUSA v1.0 is the least flawed of all the available. It's far from ideal but it is dependable.
CWM and S-OFF your device and give Medusa v1.0 a shot and try out the wicked 7-23 dated 1.728ghz kernel!
No tethering yet but there appears to be a way to mod it to get it to work manually editing files.

i checked but not working any other solution i flash that rom which u write up there
any other way or any other modification ?
I have the ATT unlocked version of the First. Rooted, S-off, Wifi tethering app, set to profile wlan0, I think i had to enable one of the checkboxes for reloading wifi-driver or it would stay stuck on or off and wouldn't toggle nicely, but for me the problem was I could connect to the wifi, but get no data through.
Turns out the carrier is blocking all the public DNS servers (so if you knew the actual IP address of a website, you could go there but clicking on virtually any link would get you nowhere since they are associated with additional url's and not IP addresses.
Fix was to uncheck the box on my laptop that says automatically retrieve DNS settings and manually set the preferred DNS server to whatever your phone uses (which there are apps on the marketplace that display the information). Make sure when getting your phones DNS info you are using the cellular connection and not the wifi. If you are tethering from mobile device to another, say a tablet then you'll need another app (for said tablet) that lets you change the devices DNS settings (not sure but that might also require root).
I just noticed that the wifi tether app i am using also has DNS settings but I haven't messed with that.
The app I used to get my carriers DNS was CompruebaIP
hopes this help, I found this on some obscure forum post after hours of searching and it solved my problem.
Wifi tether - telephony.db files
Not sure if this will help.
I created two telephony.db files which can be renamed-pasted to /data/data/com.android.providers.telephony/databases
Should eliminate the wifi tether check. Attached is the zip.
Make sure:
1. Get a backup copy of your current telephony.db
2. You rename the replacement file you use to telephony.db before copying.
3. Phone is rooted.
Also please let me know if this helps

C6903 non-existent baseband?

Hi All,
I bought a Sony Z1 C6903 in HUNGARY, and refresh in OTA my software (4.4.4 to 5.0.1), BUT my IMEI and other ID's missing (wifi MAC, bluetooth, etc.) now. *#06# show this: IMEI null.
My asset tag show this info:
Model: C6903 14W29 CB5
S/N: BH915NP00D SI 1287-5259
I searched this CDA for days, but nothing... Please somebody help me, I near the madness.
I tried to change the ROMs with Sony Mobile Flash Tool, but nothing usable... again..
Sony PC Companion repair function didn't work for me, still IMEI null.
Thanks all of help!

Data roaming issue with Sony Stock Rom for Z3+/Z4 and Z5 Family

Hi Guys,
as i dived deep into the Sony Stock Rom the last weeks i found a bug. This bug is causing that you dont get a data connection when you are in another contry, or it connects-disconnects-connects and so on. It´s a littlle bit funny because in the build.prop there are two identical entries for data romanig, one said data roaming true and the other one says false. So if you have a rooted phone you can fix this by youself.
1. Install a build.prop editor
2. search for "ro.com.android.dataroaming" you will find two entries for this
3. delete the one with "flase" as value
4. restart your device
From now on you get your mobile connection as usuall. This was testet today by myself with one Z3+ (single sim) and two Z5 (single sim) devices. With moddified build.prop you get the connection, with stock not. Yesterday when i found the bug i downloaded two ftf files from sony for Z3+ (32.2.A.0.224+32.2.A.0.253] and the 224 for the Z5. In all the build.prop files its the same so this issue should/could be on alle kitakami devices.
Thanks for the post!
And nice work on your debloated ROM

VOLTE I'm frustrated :(

To use volte in unreleased countries where Sony has not released the product, unlock and magisk must be used regardless of firmware.
There is no menu to use VOLTE, but you can force it by modifying the build prop. After that, you can open the Qualcomm Diagnostic Port (qpst, EFS Explorer) and replace the EFS file to use VOLTE.
Unlike xperia 1&5, the corresponding adb shell-su (setprop sys.usb.config rndis,eng_mode,adb) does not work on xperia 1 ii. I'm frustrated. Is the build prop USB item wrong? Does anyone know of a command to activate the Qualcomm Diagnostic Port? :crying:

Hello there,
I was tried to run init.qcom.usb.sh script under /system/vendor/bin folder, then unplug and re-plug USB, then run setprop persist.usb.eng 1 (under SU)...
OMG... got many devices and ports opened but don't take any drivers... please try by yourself... let me know the result.... as well there is init.qti.ims.sh that may related with IMS service

Before trying to modify everything, find out what modem config file your phone is using for your service provider. Type *#*#service#*#* in the phone screen and choose service info. Then choose software info. It should list at the bottom what your current modem config file is.
You need this information in order for you to figure out what settings need to be changed.

Seems to me, IMS service is not running on any firmware customization, as modem config is always shown as: ROW_Commercial, even tried to modify modem.conf file, apns-conf.xml.
Not sure, is it a bug or something intentionally left buggy to let us busy and makes Xperia 1 II more interesting to be customized ::lol::

I think you didn't put any SIM card on your phone, so you don't have any modem there...

Which string was written in modem.conf (edit: before you changed it)?
@htcmage It was much easier to modify modem.conf on XZ1 than the 'Qualcomm Diagnostic Port (qpst, EFS Explorer)' way.
You have to find the schema like this:
"[GUIDE] Enable VoLTE for your non operator handset" https://forum.xda-developers.com/xp.../guide-enable-volte-operator-handset-t3816565

Tried to write as ir51_92, mcfg_sw/generic/test/ir51_92/vlvw/GTE/mcfg_sw.mbn or any others resulting no change on loaded modem: ROW_Commercial always...

My writing. Please refer to the post you left in the comments! The volte solution is This method is applied even if you do a Li-lock (however, it is applicable even in a Southeast Asian firmware version with volte menu).
Try to see if you can find the Dutch (T-Mobile) modem software (or firmware) and if you can flash it.
I'm with T-Mobile here in the netherlands and have VoLTE activated
