The bootloader on the i537 is locked, it is not possible to install any custom recovery or flash ROMs. SafeStrap is your only option.

Do you have custom recovery, like twrp installed? If so flash this

So I'm completely stock. I used to be rooted but I was wondering if it's still the same process such as unlocking boot loader and installing a custom recovery?

You must relock bootloader and flash original recovery.img
You can find both in this forum

I did it by flashing stock recovery. The bootloader can be unlocked.
I also removed the root binary(you have the option in super su - full unroot). Then I reflashed twrp.
Good luck.

You can root your device with an app called Towelroot. Then install SuperSU from Play Store. Then install NUT dual recovery. Then flash prerooted 4.4.4 ROM. Now you will get rooted 4.4.4 ROM with dual recovery. But you cannot unlock your bootloader because it's locked from your carrier and cannot be unlocked.
any roms you recommend?
Hello, I have a ATT Note 3 Android 4.4.4 , (baseband version N900AUCUDNL1), (Kernel 3.4.0-3032228). I followed the directions of each rooting method. I have ran Kingo root method and ran Odin v.309 and v.3.10 root method several times and both these rooting methods have FAILED. Can anyone please help and advise me on how to root and install a recovery on this device. I appreciate any help.
I'm not 100% sure but I believe you need to be on NC2 in order to root.

Towleroot doesn't work on 4.4.4 you need to back date to 4.4.2 kk then towleroot will work install busybox and j. Rummy root checker, safestrap 3.75 install ST mind you it will say not active until you install a custom rom in one of the slots I believe you can just activate slot one without installing a rom and it'll put safestrap in a active State. Droidveiws is a good place to get the 4.4.2 firmware get the AP BL CP files the install via doing 3.09 it's simple. Me personally I like kk better than lollipop.

i try to flash all version TWRP and CWM for s4 active via ODIN but always failed. i try flash .img file via app TWRP Official, Rashr, Flashify and failed again
can s4 active sgh-i537 install TWRP or CWM ? need to UBL ?
if not, how to fix my problem ?
Thankyou for help, and sorry for bad english.
The i537 had a locked bootloader, it is not possible to flash custom recovery. You can only flash 2 ROMs in the development section through FlashFire. If you want an unlocked bootloader you need to buy the i9295.

True, but I doubt this is would help him accomplish his goal in the end. Yes it is recovery, but if he is trying to install one of the ROMs meant for the i9295 he's going to be out of luck.

Very true. But I prefer safestrap over flashfire, because its safer in the long run.
