Hi all. I've got two VZW LG G2s that are rooted, and the current KitKat update continues to download and fail. Is there any way to force the update?
VZW support suggests a factory reset and I dont' want to do that for sure.

Do you still have the stock recovery? You need it for this update to take.

Thanks for the reply. So I guess I'd have to do a factory reset, or is there a way to unroot?

If you need the stock recovery back, easiest thing to do is wipe the phone back to stock using the flashtool then let it take the OTA, you can re-root with ioroot25 afterwards and if you need TWRP, re-install it with AutoRec.

Most of it's listed in there. Use AutoRec to install TWRP, you can find it in the regular G2 Dev section.
Hello,
I am currently running the most recent CM11 Nightly, but I constantly have performance trouble. If I wanted to return to Stock while keeping root, how would I go about doing this?
Thank you!

Do a .kdz or .tot flash. Search within the forums, or Google search. Either way will get you back to stock, and you can root from there.
Thank you, I saw info referring to both .kdz and .tot but could not find anything explicit that I could follow.

Root your phone once you get to 24A and before taking the 25B/26A update and it will stick.

You can obtain root with Stump root on 26A, either way should be fine to root.

I followed the method to root my phone per http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2713954 but I am trying to install the latest update from Verizon. I am getting an error code when trying to update, 0x111708, anyone come across this and any solutions to fix it so I can update?
Thanks in advance!

I'm rooted via Stump Root after taking 26A and I'm unclear which version of Freedom I can use to get custom recovery installed and not get a brick in the process.. guidance would be appreciated.

Don't know the entire situation, but if you have a custom recovery, then need to revert to stock. If stock recovery and just root, then update, root should be held over update. After update, then install custom recovery.

If it's the update to go from 24a to 26a, then do the update. Root should persist (it has for me, I've done it twice now). I haven't seen anything in the way of performance improvement, but the persistent "update now" pop-up is annoying.

That' the problem, I can't do the update, I get an error 0X1117008. And everything I had read so far, hasn't been helpful, and I really don't want to tell Verizon I rooted it. I am sure they will shoo me away.

The only possible way to fix that at all is in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g-flex/general/fyi-taking-ota-rooted-twrp-t2999344
In the new update all one click rooting apps and download mode are now unusable.

Anybody get the Lollopop official ota yet for T-Mobile USA? Not kdz.
Nope. Tmobile Software Update site still says "Manufacturer Development" so might still be a little bit.

Its odd we have the LP kdz from LG but no ota. Tried the LG Software tool which says only available through OTA.
Using the kdz method wipes you'll phone clean which I can't do.

Where is this full wipe kdz method you speak of? I am trying to return to stock firmware with a full wipe and no left overs. All I can find is offline method which does not wipe data.

I just downloaded the official tmobile today, however I will have to revert back to stock etc to get it to flash unless someone knows another way...right now I am on stock kitkat rom with root and unlocked bootloader no special rom or anything like that, but when it trys to install it goes to twrp then I get error about Books.odex contains unexpected files. So I guess do I have to revert all the way back to stock first?
Update Online
Looks like you can update via PC if you have not gotten the OTA notice...
https://support.t-mobile.com/docs/DOC-21132
Is there a way to keep root while upgrading ??....isn't there an app that does that ???
Update via PC
I tried to update my D41510E and got the message that "Only WIreless Upgrades Are Supported On This Phone". T-Mobiles own page says the PC upgrade should work. Bummer!
UPDATE: Its working. I clicked on the 'recovery' button and it started the update to Lollipop. At 92% now... we'll see how it goes.
