But that's what I don't want. I want to still have all the data and erase everything

You will not be able to save the dirt you are trying to dig up on your ex. If that's the case plug it in to your pc and extract the dirt (info) then factory reset. Otherwise no one on xda will help you bypass a pin or password it's in ethical. And not allowed.

Plus if you're done with her and over her then you shouldn't care.
You can tell when one still cares if they have an opportunity for revenge and take it or not.

Help. forgot screen code

hello. i forgot my pass screen code from the note. anyway i can restore it?if i install a new rom it will erase the scrren code asking?thanks
anyone?
ddddd
Look the problem with such posts is that it's kind of hard to believe that someone can actually forget a code he has chosen by himself/ herself.
I certainly don't want to call you a thief but actually that's a very realistic scenario. People who have acquired a phone through illegit means need to circumvent things like the lock screen. And, although I still don't want to blame you, I would feel really silly if I helped someone to unlock a stolen/ found phone. So unless someone else gives you an answer you will probably have to figure it you yourself.
Sent from my revived Galaxy Note
writing a post like that is better to write nothing at all. the phone is from my girlfriend and she doesnt use it for over a month because she is whit the galaxy s2. she forgot the screen code. if you dont want to help its better to shut up instead of calling thief to people
Download screen unlock bypass from web version on play store, If that fails, theres a way of doing it via ADB, But you must have usb debugging enabled.
Or use Samsung dive to unlock the screen (if you have it activated?)
Finally, theres the hard way........ Booting into recovery an doing a full reset.
EDIT: it was your GF's right ? Go through some possible combinations before doing the reset, Birthdays, Anniversaries, Lucky numbers etc etc.
You want to avoid wiping if you have important data on the phone with no backups
Unfortunately screen lock bypass pro is not compatible with N7000 anymore and it can not be directly downloaded from the Web market
---------- Post added at 04:55 AM ---------- Previous post was at 04:53 AM ----------
reset is only a way around it, it don't even know which rom he's on.
ics, install a safe kernel
gb, go ahead and do a factory reset
Seriously, why do you guys help people with this kind of an issue? What if he/she stole the phone from someone?.. Never help these kind of people unless they can prove that the phone is theirs..
We're here to help not judge, he's been a member for a while and has made over 100 posts. If the phone was stolen he would immediately reset it.
Not everyone is a criminal, give him a break. Some people do forget things ya know, we're not superhuman

i solved it. the thing was that i didnt want to do a full reset. thats why i asked. thanks again
as for the others, i dont have to make justifications. as said, i am a member for a quite long, i know a litle bit about this and as said, a stolen phone, four our bad luck, is imediatly reseted. i now reseting a phone turns of the screen code. i didnt want to loose things that was recorde in the phone.
thanks again azzledazzle

Just curious..how did you get in finally?
Well, If I one time stole a phone from a very hot girl then NO WAY I was going to fully reset the phone.. Just think about all the pictures you could lose. What if there also were videos.

Yet another S6 Active (G890A) Root Thread

According to my search on this forum, it's been at least two months since root of Galaxy S6 Active was mentioned last, so I thought I'll try again...
I am trying to figure out if there is a way to root the phone now? I tried KingoRoot, Towel Root, PingPong, King and nothing worked...
Would the phone get bricked if I try the rooting via Odin using the files for the regular S6 (G920)?
Is it possible to just flash CyanogenMod and thus get both the rom and root that way?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Subbed, I would also like to know

Is upping a thread a thing on this forum?
Great question! We don't want to brick our new Galaxy S6 Actives either!!!
Want rooooooooooot
Far as I know, there has been no news regarding root for S6 Active.
There is a group of people trying to put together a bounty for a S6 Active root, but the problem is nobody is really sure how to properly setup the bounty

Yet another thing that confuses me....why is the edge and active so different from the normal 6. Why would there be any reason for the internals to be changed besides maybe moving some stuff around so it fits right. I am so happy I decided not to get the active even though I learned today that it has 1000 more mAh than the normal/edge which if I would've known that at purchase I would of gotten it... I feel your pain guys. It is even worse that it is an ATT Active of all things, :/
Agree! Android really is different without root.
I have had my G890A (S6 Active) for just over a month.
This is the longest I've ever had a non-rooted Android phone since my first HTC many years back. It's frustrating!
The phone's nice. It's got the bigger battery, a bit tougher, and not too large (but I *am* tired of "demo'ing" the phone-in-a -glass-of-water trick for friends already .
I like the promise of durability, but chaff at lack of root, and the personal tweaks that I took for granted on my S4, my S2 and other rooted android phones. . .
;-(

Well I think one of the question is whether it is actually any different from the normal 6 from the root perspective? Has anyone tried to use 6 firmware on it?

I'm in the same boat. I got a good deal on Swappa for this phone and love the hardware. I'd love root to remove bloatware, install xposed modules and remove ads. This phone has huge potential but falls short.

Can't relock bootloader due to bad USB can my warranty be rejected?

My usb connection basically umm fell out the tongue part. I therefore can not relock the bootloader. What would happen if I send in for warranty?
Where are you sending it for warranty? If google, absolutely not.

The USB tongue fell out so I can't use the phone anymore. As in no ability to charge besides wireless charging.

To google but here in the USA we have different laws which may in fact cover the warranty. Such as if you mod your car exhaust and the stero breaks they can not deny the stero even if you voided your exhaust warranty. So unless unlocking a bootloader caused the USB tongue to fall out it may still be covered even if that part was voided.
google has no policy against unlocked bootloaders or root. most likely they will do an exchange, but you need to call them first. every device ive ever sent into google, ive had my bootloader unlocked, running custom roms, with root. and they never ever gave me a hard time.

in the US, i dont know about the UK, google is really good about taking care of the customer, especially if its a hardware issue. ive never heard a no, when it comes to replacing a device for hardware issues, no matter what you did to it software wise

Odin FAIL! Smart Switch Unsupported s8+ !! HELP PLEASE !!!

(This thread is finished yet I do not know how to set my own reply as the answer! An extremely kind developer helped me out immensely and I fully trusted him and I am very proud now!)
I got an SM-G955FD ( S8+ Dual SIM Europe XSG Variant )
I rooted the phone and installed renovate ICE and titanium backup, apparently, I messed up and after a restart, it was stuck on the flashing Samsung logo.
I went into download mode and tried flashing the TWRP from Odin with the BL button. It kept saying FAIL! and the text does not show that the NAND installed so I probably uninstalled something that's stopping from installing to the bootloader? Re=partition was ticked OFF all the time as I heard it freezes your phone or something??!
I tried installing stock firmware and still says fail when it comes to the bootloader part.
I tried Smart Switch as I seen videos of people doing it successfully with an s8+, but it apparently does not support specifically the XSG variant (from what I remember the XSG is the United Arab Emirates something when I was installing the firmware from SamMobile)
I contacted Samsung Help Services and redirected me to their messenger which then redirected me to their Smart Switch page and I sent them my problem yet it's been two hours and I have no answer
I know they are very busy which is why I sent here, maybe I get some tips.
Should I enable Re-Partition when reinstalling? I am really scared it might brick my phone if it says FAIL! :crying:
I really need help and if anybody can help or give tips or feedback, hints maybe or thoughts, anything I will be extremely glad an appreciative as every little is super useful and I need lots of help. It's my fault and I admit but I became super desperate, whenever I had a problem I always came here first thing and found the answer and I have not found anything like this exactly.
Thanks and sorry for the long paragraphs, I may have been too dramatic
You guys are amazing!

My phone is back in business!
Not mentioning how scared I was as I had all my savings on a worthless phone, I was very kindly contacted by one of the developers and helped me on the way, he connected via TeamViewer and did everything, this community is amazing! I seriously can't thank the person enough, I don't know if he wants his name mentioned I will PM him about that and I will definitely recommend! My phone is charging next to me with all its features working perfectly and I am again so grateful!! Apparently, my device was messed up good and he took a long time on it and it came out amazing. I am so happy right now I barely know what I am typing because I am very grateful! Thank you so much is this person is reading this you completely flipped my mood for the day and I feel great! :good:
I am so glad I decided to post here as Samsung still have not responded me, and you can't really blame them but the important thing is it is over, I will definitely start trying to help other people on this site because I want them to be like how I am feeling right now!

[Q] Need advice

The last LG I owned was the LGV10. I loved that phone so much that even though I knew some were made with something wrong with them and they would just turn to a brick I bought one after another when one did. I gave up after my 3rd bricked.
I'm just curious if the V40 prone to the same issue?
