Edit: never mind this part, so tired I don't even know what I was talking about. I've never been a huge pa fan, but I'll give this a flash tomorrow, since you took the time to let everyone try your build.
Thank you.
Edit: everyone better keep a lid on this build being here, or the thread will be swamped by all of the international users asking for support.

sigh...I've been putting off flashing custom recovery since I got my replacement G2 in May.....looks like i'm gonna have to give this a shot. Thanks dev!!!!!

Thanks for the build! Running fantastic so far!

smooth
Excellent work. Smooth, stable, I can confirm GPS Bluetooth WiFi and Data are all in working order.
I haven't tried ART.
Thank you for the build.

Very smooth, I am on 24A didn't flash 25 I'm a noob so I don't know what it will change. Everything works but the ASOP camera isn't the greatest. (installed Google's) also I'm not sure if its just me but signal quality is very poor. where I used to get 5 bars of LTE I get 2 and it goes into roaming allot... Wish I coul dfix that but otherwise a amazing rom especially for a beta!!!:good:

Essentially its nothing more than the new baseband. Its possible that this is the new baseband that's going to work with volte, but it is not activated yet as 25b is not official.
Also it contained the new kernel. (really only matters stock wise.)
Some people have said that they have had issues with ims though, because it can not register, as it was a leaked grab.

Thank you so much! I pretty much exclusively use PA but recently I've been using jackpot clavin's cm because it was the only aosp ROM that was stable to the level I wanted, this is perfect! So far, I've tested most of the PA features, as well as theme engine and I'm loading ART now. Absolutely no complaints, everything seems perfect! Also I'm on the 25a bootstack and I'm getting considerably higher reception on this ROM than on others. Same as if not better than stock 25a. Also I wouldn't worry about the extra features anytime soon, I have PA on my nexus 7 as well but I have both of them off due to kinks, bugs and performance issues (they're both great, just not stable).

Title says 4.4.4, OP says using 4.4.2 sources. Think that's where the confusion may be.

This ROM is running Android version 4.4.4, PA version 4.6 Beta 1 though it does not have the new beta features (new recents, dynamic status bar). In the OP, I refer to dr87's 4.4.2 sources.
Edit: to prevent confusion, I changed the OP to say dr87's kitkat sources.

I'm not trying to cause more confusion on the topic, so as a preface everything above is true. If you don't know what I'm talking about don't worry about it. So the ROM obviously works very well with the 25a baseband, but is there anything in the dr87 24a KitKat kernel source that could be updated with things from 25a? Not asking for an eta, just if in the long run this is possible/helpful.
Edit: Also I know the 25a source isn't out yet, just wondering if it would be helpful for aosp.

All it is, is a baseband. It gives better signal and data connection.

This is AOSP built so it also includes the aosp browser as well as the features above. The others are just based off of the factory images I believe.

Just a quick question before I try this rom out: Does titanium backup work properly in terms of un-installing system apps? Or is this an issue with the app itself or the root method?? Currently when I try it says 'failed to locate file'

ROFL, thought I was the only one who actually used that joke hahaha.
So Kayant you made this official legacy device, congratulations!
I have always wanted AOSPA on the 4g, even thought of building it myself, I'm glad you did it.
omg i was thinking everyone is building of cm why is there no aosp builds? and here it comes thank u so much for your hard work.. must ... flash... immediately !
Well PA was my favourite ROM of all times, thanks for bringing this ROM to peregrine. I flashed this this morning, I'd really love to see some of the features that PA offered in 4.4.4., as for now it doesn't really have any customization option.
Thanks Kayant, been using your kernel and is great.
Fellas I'm having a problem with the initial setup.
As soon as the setup screen (the blue one with the language selector) starts, the phone goes back to booting again from the boot animation.
It shows the language screen for about 2-3 seconds then goes back to boot animation. First time I've seen this type of error.
I clean flashed everything...

Is a PA rom, CM based or AOSP based? I've read some comments applauding this rom for the variety it adds, but I have only come across CM12.1 roms so far and if this has bugs from CM12.1 then isn't it too CM12.1 based?
Secondly, SOOOOOOO EXCITED to flash this been waiting for PA for my phone forever but never had a device (too many samsungs in my life) which had any rom. YES FOR MOTO!
Lastly, I know this is listed as BETA but then on the PA website it says it is STABLE. what's the different dev stages for this rom?
Thanks so much for the effort Kayant!

It's AOSP based. Why you will find the same/near the same bugs on every rom for a device is because to build the rom for a device you need something called a device tree - https://github.com/AOSPA-L/android_device_motorola_peregrine
That same device tree is used for all Peregrine roms and contains all the necessary configs, files and such to make a rom boot up and run on a device as such every rom built with the same device tree we have the same device bugs expect ones included by the rom.
Although our device is different in that it also needs - https://github.com/AOSPA-L/android_device_motorola_msm8226-common which is a shared device tree for all Moto G devices as they all share the same hardware for the most part.
Hey guys, how is battery working for you?
Mine is being unreal, just got 3 hours SoT and still have 50% with wave gesture turned ON, but I have the funny feeling that it will suddenly drop to 0, I just hope the hotfix solves it. Just wanted to ask, it seems that the recent fix to radio wakeclocks and removal of p-thread has really done a miracle with my battery and hope yours too.
Kind regards.
Duuh, wrong thread.
I'm having an annoying bug. Everything is great about this ROM but I can't open toggles on Quick Settings. If I keep pressing the WiFi toggle, normally WiFi settings (not the quick setting menu but the settings app itself) should open, but instead nothing happens. This is the same for all toggles (location, screen rotation..) Could you perhaps fix this?

Mine is being unreal, just got 3 hours SoT and still have 50% with wave gesture turned ON, but I have the funny feeling that it will suddenly drop to 0, I just hope the hotfix solves it. There is no fix because that's how it works in AOSP until that function is added to it which it hasn't been added yet in PA.
Thanks for your answer. Please let me know when this is added because this is by far the smoothest ROM I've tried. CM12-based roms seem to slow down after an amount of running, this one stays smooth. Good job!
probable bug?
The rom runs well on my xt1039, but finding only small problem: I have a bar (disturbance effect) that goes from the bottom to the top of the display. It looks to boot, and not go away.
You help me?

Put your device to sleep for a minute or so and it should go away.
hand wave ambient display
The hand wave feature used in build 14 of @beeeto cm12.1 sabermod is amazing and I was wondering if you had any plans of implementing it into your ROM?
This rom is very good, but as beeto build 14.1, is possible to migrate his kernel to this rom?
This seems to be running really nicely. I've always had a soft spot for PA ROMs and this is working smoothly and I've had no major issues so far.

Booted just fine. Viper still does not work and weather forecast location settings are nowhere to be found. I'll play with for a bit and report back. Thanks for your work, GrinningFerret
Build works like a charm but I wouldn't mind Doze..
@up : you only need to change the SE policy to permissive in order for viper to work
Edit: @OPhttp://forum.xda-developers.com/member.php?u=225651 : don't forget to mention the quickboot bug and could you post the Carbon ROM changelog for the sanctity of laziness?
Damn, I wasn't listening to music on my phone for like 3 weeks because of that, I wonder how I could miss this relation when I changed rom. Anyways, thank you, I owe you
@up
But on my ROM it was always permissive, and some stated that it still doesn't work ^^

Dunno, last time on your RR (somewhere at the beginning of the month) it worked but was glitching sound, on Ferret's it worked properly (also old build) but on optimized cm it did not work at all (newer build).
After changing mode it finally works. I'll be delighted to check this out when (if) your new build is up
Sorry for OT.
Rom runs smooth, but haven't test it out heavily yet. Ram management seems to be alright for now
@ardentis
If you link me the official changelog I will include it. Couldn't find it....
@up : I can't find it either. . Could you add your changelog possibly?
Seems that official CarbonROM changelog is broken - it was good in times of KitKat

Well I was busy with school for awhile and I've been busy with family and getting my car fixed and stuff but I'm hoping to work on my Blisspop ROM in the morning(about 9 hours from now) and hopefully have an initial test build by Thursday or Friday.
My friend kinda stopped his development on liquid smooth as far as I know but I do intend to start off where he left off as soon as I can. When I get my initial builds of the ROMS I'm gonna need help figuring out how to fix bugs and stuff because I don't have experience in that but I am willing to learn. Any help will be appreciated. Also I was wondering is there a fix for the no focusing on the camera when not on stock ROM? It really kills the pic quality.
I am on d415. I noticed the OP says something about a patch. I use a patch3 zip every time I flash a new nightly. Does this mean I can use it with any of the variants, even the lollipop builds, like this ROM, and it will work?
I asked about the patch in a different post and someone mentioned it was some kind of kernel and doesn't work with cm12. Is there more than one kernel for the d415?

There was a bad commit in the CM source. It's been reverted, running new builds now. If you're using a p3113 the 6.12 build works well, if not new downloads will be available this weekend.
I will test the new build soon and provide feedback!
hope it will defeat some roms...

I will look into it. These take between 5 and 13 hours to compile on my old laptop(each), so 2 devices is already a big time commitment. However, I don't plan on building "nightlies", so I'll look into supporting my 10 inch borthers/sisters anyways.

That's great to hear. The 6.13 p3113 build has a nasty bug (as shown above), glad to hear one of them came out.
MOVING FORWARD:
I plan to build these as quickly as I can until it's as stable and bug free as I can get it, after which I'll probably only run updates bi-weekly. I really love this ROM, but it's a pain in the ass to build and I'm working with a very dated computer so please be patient. :good:
Work fine in p5110
Nice work, dude! Thank you for the new rom.
Everything works fine on the P3100.
No problems have been found yet .
I think that the update once a week , it is a good idea .
We are waiting your new builds )
Good luck !!!

I don't see why it wouldn't be. I test with 3.0.0-0 because the newer ROMS build with a device name of "esspresso[wifi/3g]" and 3.0.1+ (afaik) doesnt support the old device names (p31xx) breaking backwards compatibility. 3.0.1+ will install espresso ROMS, 2.9x and older does p3xx ROMS, 3.0.0-0 is the newest 'old' recovery that does both, which I need.
I'll test it against the current TWRP this week.

Beanstalk and TWRP both have built-in Terminal emulators.
Be sure you did a full wipe of Dalvik, System and Data. And the ROM matches your device, as that's the most common problem.
** edit: I see you worked it out. Hope you enjoy.

Commotio B-105
Commotio VS Vanir:
Commotio is DHO's take on Vanir. Different UI, scripts, and often testing new features that may be merged into Vanir.
They are 100% compatible and users can pick their favorite. Commotio can be thought of as bleeding edge testing ground for new features and optimizations which may or may not make their way into Vanir

Commotio + Vanir Features:
- Multiple Devices
- Based on CM13 nightlies
Debloated
- All inclusive ~180 MB –> 60 MB of Bloat removed
- Fully featured LatinIME Keyboard, but only 2.2 MB (normally 16-20 MB), removed tracking/logging
- And soo much more
Butter
- Compiled with linaro keychain.
- Optimized with linaro 4.8
- GCC 4.8 w/ -O3 -fstrict-aliasing AKA highly optimized compiling for better results (like Linaro)
- Vanir.cfg – Set your CPU frequencies, colors, ZRAM, and much more. Set and once and forget; it stays on your SD card
- DHOtheory: Sets up the kernel/ROM the way I like it, then self destructs on first boot, so you can change it later
- Go-faster Axiom scripts
- Vanirice – makes everything just a bit smooth

Note to anyone looking to flash the kltevzw variant: the 7 April official vanir build does not look like it has picked up my proprietary files change. It may boot, but definitely won't have radio until they pull it over from CM.

So that commit will hit the next attempted build, but their vendor_samsung repo hasn't had the changes pulled over yet. The nightlies will fail to compile until that happens.

Its like CM but only essential CM features the rest is AOSP with tool chain optimizations and other debloating and optimizing scripts. You can install it and notice the difference for yourself.

Yes, the latest versions are OK to flash. Don't flash any older builds because they don't have essential files for VZW. The kernel is stock CM.
