Z1 and Bootloader - Xperia Z1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I've searched and a lot of information on the Z1 bootloader and nothing quite answers my question I'm looking to purchase a Z1 and see quite a few unbranded and unlocked ones available. If.they're not branded would their.bootloaders be unlockable? Thanks for any information.

German Vodafone Nexus One - unlockable bootloader?

Hey gang.
As the title of this thread reads: Is the bootloader in the German Vodafone Nexus One unlockable, just like the Nexus One you order from Google.com, or is the Vodafone version locked down to prevent people from rooting?
Oh, and I tried a quick search but I could not find any info on the subject, other than that the UK version of the Vodafone Nexus One is unlockable.
Thanks in advance for any and all help.
I would imagine that it should be possible.
But i have a question for you as i live in australia and roumor has it that vodafone has the rights to sell the nexus one here.
Do vodafone put their logo anywhere on the nexus one? Like above the screen? or does it only have Google and HTC on the back?
Thanks

Based on http://shop.vodafone.co.uk/shop/mobile-phone/google-nexus-one?phoneView=ImageGallery , it looks like it comes without any additional branding.
AFAIK, there's no way to "software lock" the bootloader of Nexus One further than it is.
it is the same unmodified phone, no difference to the us or uk version apart from the build number.

[Q] Sony Xperia Z Models

Hi everyone,
I am new in this forum and I have a question regarding the Sony Z phone
From what I researched I found that Sony Z comes in 2 models C6603 and C6602.
My question is would it be possible to check the model on the phone itself?
I am trying to buy a use one from Craigslist.
Thank you in advance.

Do you mean without turning it on?
You could check under settings/about if you can turn it on
Or on the very bottom of the phone in small lettering, over top of the barcode if you mean on the phone itself

You have questions?
*#*#7378423#*#* -> Service Info -> Model info
or
*#*#7378423#*#* -> Service Info ->Software info -> Customization version
On the bottom of the phone, there's a barcode and some text. the first thing after "MADE IN CHINA" is the model numer, e.g. C6603
Hmmm, mine's actually C6616.

(C5306) USA/Canadian users.

Hi guys. I am not from Canada/USA and do not plan to go there.
My question is the does the C5306 have a unlockable boot loader?
Please do not answer unless you know this answer.
Please don't look at my post. I translated wrong and can't delete the post. Sorry for that :/
As far as I know the 5306 is not sold in the USA, at least is not that easy. A few months ago I went to a Sony store (located on fashion valley mall) and nobody knew about the SP. It is sold in Mexico but it is carrier branded (Telcel)
(I got a cheap 5303 and i bought It. There is no LTE available on my city and I didn't want a locked bootloader)
Reasons.
You can buy C5306 from Sony apparently (found it on the online store).
I'm proposing if we can't unlock the boot-loader on this model then we may as-well disable flashing in CWM in BoardConfig.mk for CyanogenMod (TARGET_OTA_ASSERT_DEVICE) to stop people from flashing it on a device it won't work on..
Anyway if you've got a C5306 please tell find out the details
Anybody else?

Hey i am totaly new to sony phones and have always used samsung, i am looking to by a c6603, my question is: what are the changes that i can't unlock my boatloader, and why would sony make 2 versions of the same model c6603. Are the international c6603 always unlockable or not?
Unbranded phones purchased off contract will have unlockable bootloaders.
Carrier branded phones supplied by your network provider usually, but not always, have a non-unlockable bootloader.
Sent from my C6603 using Tapatalk
thanks alot man!

[Q] How to purchase an unlocked bootloader z3 compact?

Hi,
Am looking to upgrade my old Droid 4 (so sad to say goodbye to QWETRY) to a Sony Xperia Z3 compact. I understand that the 'international' versions already have an unlocked bootloader. If purchasing in the UAE, how can I ensure (before my purchase / via markings on the box?) that the device I'm buying has an unlocked bootloader?
thanks in advance.
