Hi everybody, I'm new to LG, this is my first LG phone since my original LG Vu many many years ago, and i have a couple questions. I've searched everywhere here on XDA and a couple other forum sites, as well as general google searches. First off my Flex is on 4.2.2 and it doesn't seem I have any way to update to 4.4.2. Whenever I try the update from my phone it says "your phone is not registered" and when I try with the LG computer software it just says my device is up to date. I've seen the not registered error mentioned a few times before and I tried the suggestions given, like getting a new sim card and doing a factory reset, but no luck. I've seen a few people mention that they flashed the update manually with something called LG Flash Tool, but I cant find any info on that whatsoever. My model is the AT&T D950 by the way. Secondly I am having absolutly horrible lag with this phone, specifically list scrolling, mostly in apps such as Google+, YouTube, and Facebook, all the reviews i read before getting the Flex said it was super smooth, thays why I got it, so is there something I should so, or is lag like this normal? Because I can't scroll through YouTube or Google+ without it hanging every couple seconds. If anybody that has more experience then me with this phone or LG in general could help me out with these or just point me in the right direction, that would be greatly appreciatex.

If you are on AT&T, take the phone to the store and have them update it for you. If you are on another carrier you will have to manually flash the update. As for the lag, I have also just got the Flex and I have not had any lag, but I have always done a Factory data reset before I do anything else.

Yeah I'm on AT&T. Thanks for the tips, I really appreciate it. Unfortunately nothing seems to work. I've tried downloading the LG PC software from their website but it just tells me I'm up to date, I can't find any info on how to use the LG flash tool thing, and I just went into 3 different AT&T stores, one of which was a device support center, and they all said they have not way to flash the LG G Flex because LG stopped supporting the tool they had to flash it with so it no longer works. So it looks like I'm stuck on 4.2.2. It's a shame really because I really got this phone to test out LG before the G3 comes out to see how I would like it since I'm up for an upgrade, and I absolutely LOVE it, but I'm not dropping money + a contract on a phone that might have issue upgrading the software, I mean we already wait long enough for android updates on non-nexus phones, but then even when it's available you can't update it because there is some sort of issue between AT&T and LG servers. And the worst part is it's not just me or this model phone. I have seen tons of people having the same issue with G2's and G Pro 2's but nobody seems to be able to figure it out. It really suck. But thanks for all the tips and help, like I said I really appreciate it!
Just want to give an update for anyone else that has this issue and might come across this thread. After going to 2 more stores, getting 2 more new SIMs, and 2 more factory updates, then spending about an hour on the phone with tech support with them trying to "push" the update to me, then another 2 hours on chat support with them trying to "push" it to me, I am no closer to any kind of solution.
Just another update, AT&T filed a case and I can now check for software update through settings, and it tells me an update to 4.4.2 is available, but once it downloads the update fails, it tell me my device is suspected of rooting and software update is not available for my device. My device is not, and has never been rooted. So I don't know where to go from here. This is the most frustrating thing I have ever encountered in my 4+ years with android lol. My next phone will definitely not be an LG phone, which is a shame because I just got this one to test out LG while waiting for the G3 to make it to AT&T.
did you buy this new?
isnt there a warranty from ATT?

Can you post a screenshot of the message you're getting that says your device is suspected of rooting?
Yes I bought it new from an AT&T COR store. Yeah it has warranty, I actually just went to the support center and exchanged it after explaing that it has never been rooted or else I would post a screenshot, I didnt even think about doing that, I remeber the error exactly though, I must have tried it a dozen times. When I went to software update it said a new update is available and I clicked yes to download, after it downloaded it rebooted into that LG screen with the cartoony hills and stuff and it said updating 0% for about 2 mins, the in big letters it said ERR:0x0011341, and it rebooted back into the ROM and everthing loaded up, after about a minuter I got a popup that said Error: Your device is suspect in rooting, your device is not available for software update, then any time I tried to run software update that popup would come back up unless I did a factory reset, then it would start the whole thing over with the same results. Like I said, I just got a replacement and am downloading the update now, I'll post back and let you know what happens.
Its not that unusual for a phone to get hosed when trying to download/install an OTA update.
Is is unusual for a message like you saw, about being a "suspect" for rooting; I don't think I have ever heard of that before..
All that matters is you got a new phone, so thats a good thing
Yeah i thought it was weird too, the weirdest pat was i did the return to stock from the other thread here just to see if that would fix the issue and it still said the same thing, it even did it after factory resets, like something had been tripped and couldnt be reset. Im no stranger to rooting, I've been doing it for years, i just never did it with phone cuz there isn't a whole lot you can do with it. But the new one just updated to 4.4.2 no problem so the issue is fixed. It was all just really strange, i found a thread here from another person getting the same error on a G2 http://forums.androidcentral.com/lg...tware-update-not-available-rooted-device.html

I'm having this same issue, but I did root my device. I completely unrooted it, and tried again with no luck. I thought it was me. Looking forward to hearing if you have success with the replacement. If so, I'm definitely taking this guy in. ?

I have a brand new S4 Active-aout 2 weeks old. Not rooted, only a few apps installed. Phone was working after update for a few hours anyway. Pulled it out of my pocket to make a call and it was dead. No screen, no sounds. I thought maybe the battery somehow drained out all of a sudden. I popped in a back up battery, still dead can't get any boot sounds or screen flashes.
Plugging into laptop, the phone is recognized as a QHSUSB_DLOAD but missing drivers. Downloading Kies now to see if that resolves it. ANyone have any similar issues or experiences with QHUSB?
Just wanted to post this as I had heard the last AT&T update, the NC9 which my phone had, was pulled because of issues...well maybe this one has issues too. I've had other S4 Actives that were rooted, but this was a brand new retail phone.
posted help request for you here:

Any luck on fixing this? My GT-I9295 just did the exact same thing today. Using it at lunch time, no problem. Chucked it in the top pocket of my overalls and went back to work. Grabbed it out again at afternoon tea and nothing. I've tried pulling the battery and waiting a minute, tried different key combinations and nothing. Plugged it into the computer and good old QHSUSB_DLOAD pops up, which led me to this post. I havent rooted the phone or anything, downloaded the update a month or two ago and its just done this
I did read on another forum that QHSUSB_DLOAD stands for Qualcomm High Speed USB Download, which basically equates to the phone being a fresh bit of silicon from the factory waiting to have all its software loaded onto it. Anyone else able to confirm this?
i just got my Nexus 6 today. Ran through the setup without restoring anything from my M8 (used Setup as New device option). Got to the home screen, looked up my WiFi MAC address and added it to my router. In the meantime over LTE I received my Gmail mail and a notice to update to 5.01. Downloaded the OTA, hit the "Reboot & Install" button, watched it reboot and start the install. Didn't bother watching the process and when I looked back it was a black screen. Thought it timed out after a (possible) reboot so went to wake it and nothing. Will not power on or boot into fastboot and plugging it into the charger produces nothing on the screen.
Ordered it direct from Google Play so called their support, explained all I had done and after an hour of being put on and off hold I got disconnected. Tried calling back and after the prompts, the line drops. Guessing it was quitting time. The tech (if you can call him that) said he's got the 5.02 notice sitting on his N6 but from what he's heard, he's sticking with 5.01 for now as he has no issues.
I wanted to give you the full convo even though most of it's useless.
Oh, as far as the tech goes, he wanted to resolve it in one call and tried talking to Motorola but said his call was dropped and after trying to call back he got an After Hours message. Before that he wanted to send me a shipping label for me to send it back but wouldn't send a replacement until they got it back. He was going to talk to his supervisor about sending one out overnight... That's when the call dropped. I was very polite but after waiting since October and checking everyday, now I'm pissed.
Thoughts?
TIA
These phones dont get shipped out fully charged.
What was your battery level? If it was upgrading and it loss power due to lack of it, congratulations for bricking yourself.
You should always charge up a device like a cell phone before flashing.
Can you charge it up now? Give it some juice and see if you can at least get into the bootloader.
It was at 51%. No activity when plugged into the charger as I said in my OP.

I have a new replacement coming. Thanks for the input.

Yes, if you got it through Play ONLY deal with Play, Motorola is the WORST. I really never want to deal with their support again.
Hi , ive done all i can before coming here for help but this is my last resort as im stumped. About a month ago i updated my phone to the latest Android version on my Nexus 6. Literally straight after the update my phone began to play up. It started turning itself off at random times , not when i did a specific thing it could be anything and at any time. Spoke to Motorola and they were no use , so cleared my phone did a reset and still the same occurrence, as it was still on the newest version. But what i found was when the phone was plugged into the mains it didn't go off at all, but then again this problem happened right after the update. SO the next thing i have done is custom ROM but again the device will turn off randomly .I really need help as ive only had this phone since January and ive not been able to use it.
Thanks in advance
Sounds like battery defect. Has same issue on my n4 with regards to being ok when plugged in

Yes, absolutely sounds like the battery issue that is somewhat common. Best to RMA at this point because the next step is that the battery starts to expand.
You can, in the meantime, boot into bootloader, and select bootloader logs. Press power to select and then reboot. This clears and calibrates the battery stats. Most likely, the issue will return.

I just bought a new Moto X4 Android One model and was using it for about a day.
I have unlocked the bootloader, installed Magisk according to the forums and it was work 100% fine. I put it down and picked it up after about an hour, it froze, the screen went black and it has been unresponsive ever since. I have never seen behavior like this. I have tried every combination of buttons while plugged and unplugged and nothing happens. The only thing is when I plugged it into my PC i got a "Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader" device to show up. So its not completely a doorstop but I do not know how to proceed recovering from this.
I am begging for any wizards who can help to please point me in the right direction. I also apologize if this is covered elsewhere and I missed the post. FYI I was on the latest Android One June 1 update.

Thanks. I attempted the blankflash but got an error. I posted it to that thread. Any further suggestions are welcome.
Update 7-29-2018:
OK so I screwed something up and I wanted to describe what happened in case anyone else runs into a similar issue. My situation was not a "hard brick" as I initially thought. My setup was the following:
- Unboxing
- Updating the Android One build to June 1 OTA
- Unlocking bootloader
- Following Instructions for installing TWRP and Magisk
- Installing/configuring/updating a bunch of apps
I think I went wrong with I allowed Magisk to not only update the Manager app, but to also update the underlying modules, even though I had just installed them and knew them to be current. I think that process had a silent error which caused my phone to crash so completely when left idle for some time. I initially left it idle for about 90mins and that was when it initially locked up. It was inert, unresponsive, no buttons did anything. All I could see was the "Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader" device in Windows which lead me to my initial post.
I did a ton a research on saving hard brick phones which ultimately was unnecessary. After about 48 hours, the battery had died completely since it was not actually off, just hung at a low level. I was then able to charge and restart the phone, reflash the firmware and start over. So far so good.
I really, really miss removable batteries and since this was my resolution to an issue I thought was way worse than it was I just wanted to document that apparently you can crash your phone this badly and you may have to wait out the battery as a troubleshooting step.
