I just upgraded from my Galaxy S3 to the S4 Active. My S3 was rooted so I could use the ARUnchained app by another developer on this site, with my Pioneer AppRadio in my truck. This app allows full control on my phone from the touchscreen appradio. When we travel I use the Directv Geniego app to play video content from my DVR on the screen in the truck. The DTV Genigo does not work on rooted devices. No problem, found a work around with the Root Cloak App. Everything worked great on the S3 running stock rooted android 4.3. I got the new S4 Active and was happy to see that it was still on 4.3 so I thought great, I shouldn't have any problems setting it up the same way I did with the S3. As soon as I activated the phone it was trying to update to Kit Kat 4.4.2 so I downloaded Titanium Backup to freeze the update. The ARUnchained App has some issues on 4.4.2. My problem is with the video camera. Once I use Root Cloak Plus to hid the root from the Geniego app anytime I try to use the video camera the screen freezes and the phone powers off then back on. If I go into Substrate and unlink substrate file and reboot the phone the video camera works again but now the Geniego app detects the root again and wont work. I cant just go into SuperSU and temporarily deactivate the root because the ARUnchained app requires root to work so I cant use the ARU app at the same time as the Geniego app. Is there a fix for the video camera to work while I'm using the Geniego? Any help will be greatly appreciated as this is very frustrating. I dont see why it would work fine on my S3 but not the S4 Active, afterall they both have the same operating system.

Have you tried different camera apps?

I tried one. It did the same thing. Now I think it may be an issue with cydia substrate because when I unlink substrate files and cycle the phone off and back on the camera works fine but now the geniego app sees root again and won't work. I don't understand why it worked fine with my s3 but won't work proudly with the s4 active.

Have your tried using Xposed and the module RootCloak? Xposed works very differently then Cydia so it may solve some of your issues. I wish I could help you more but I've never used Cydia, it may be helpful to ask in the RootCloak Plus thread if it truly is a Cydia issue.
Thank you Devo7 for your recommendation of trying X posed and the original root cloak app. Everything is working simultaneously now while still keeping root intact and ARU is working in the truck and I can still use my video camera.. Thank you so much.

Ok so I've done some searching in both the Sprint and regular HTC one forums and can't seem to find where this is addressed so perhaps no one else is running into it.
Wife's phone (Sprint One, stock ROM, S-off, rooted) automatically starts playing music when it connects to the bluetooth in her 2008 Ford Edge with Sync. I've gone into the sync settings and autostart is disabled so I am thinking there is something in the device that is forcing the music start on bluetooth connect...
Anyone have any ideas on how to disable this?
Thanks,
MG
Check the Ford settings. Also check the player that's playing the music. Usually they have a toggle in their settings.

Same thing happens with my Subaru.

Thanks, in the Sync settings on the radio it is already set to off and the music player doesn't seem to have a toggle unless I am missing it...

Same problem
I've had this same problem as well. It is some interaction between the Sync system (or other bluetooth system) and the Music app. Unfortunately the Android developers have ignored this issue for YEARS as you can find threads going back to at least 2010 on it. A simple config switch to ignore headset starts like many other players have would fix it. In the past Headset Blocker worked to fix it but that app isn't compatible with newer releases. I tried Wizdroid witch worked previously but since the 4.3 upgrade it no longer works either. There are other disabling apps out there but from what I see they all break the bluetooth media function completely. Thankfully I am rooted so I am going to see if I can freeze the default player and install Poweramp or similar to replace it. Hopefully it won't break too much. Does anyone know if that is a bad plan before I do it?
UPDATE: I seem to have found a happy medium. I installed Poweramp and it's settings seem to handle the autostart signal without having to disable the Music app. I set Poweramp to "high priority" then disabled all the resume functions and disabled the lockscreen handler (it required the bluetooth start feature). Now the last few times I have paired nothing has started playing on its own.

What happen to me is when I have stock Music app in the background pause it and when connect to the car kit the music will auto start. My friend said this is normal. Is that happen to you guys as well?
[Q]is there a way to stream music from a galaxy gear with a Bluetooth headset?
Yes. The gear has to be on a Tizen release. Then you can load music onto the gear and pair the gear with Bluetooth headphones, or an external speaker and rock on!

Yes- I am on Android using Null_Rom. This gives you access to your internal folders like Tizen, except you have the freedom of Android. I sideloaded Rocket Player (music player app that works well on the Gear) and can easily connect to a BT speaker.

Rocket player with android on Galaxy Gear lets you stream media?
Hard to believe that no one figure this out yet
galaxy gear pairs with headset but doesn't give a option connect to device
looks like its missing files
Thanks for your reply!
I gave this app a try but it lacks the files needed to establish a connection.
after looking into the matter ive notice that Galaxy Gear is missing connection files.
It allows to pair with headset the same way as phones but You can not tap on the device lables (even the phone) in the bluetooth menu to connect to the device the way normal bluetooth connection works .
I tried installing bluetooth fix app, the app gave me error message that the GGear is missing bluetooth folder.
I know alot of people would like to see this function working on Galaxy Gear without going to Tizen, if we could get a Dev to give us hand or if we get some insight on how the bluetooth connection works would be a step forward in getting this to work
i will bookmark this, currently waiting shipment for GG1.
i do hope can play abit with the stock rom, and then root, install null, before jump to tizen. i really need this function bluetooth streaming because i cant carry my note mobile while jogging with my bluetooth headset. so unless there is tweak to make bluetooth works on android, i need to use tizen.
anyway, i heard null rom has bad battery life, if you stream mp3 would this make the battery life even worse?
I have a Verizon Galaxy Note 5 (unrooted of course) and a Pioneer AVH-4100NEX car stereo that I run Android Auto on. Just downloaded an app called RockScout to try it out with MirrorLink since the Pioneer supports that as well. Noticed that when you start the app if you hit the back button it allows you to mirror the entire phone screen to the radio with full touchscreen functionality. (I have a parking brake bypass installed). Have only seen this capability with AppRadio Unchained Reloaded and only with rooted phones. Not sure if this is intentional or not. Has anyone else experienced this with MirrorLink apps? It's kind of cool because I have been wanting to use Audible through my radio but there is no Android Auto support yet. This allows it. Probably wouldn't use it for much else as that could be too much of a distraction.
Can't run the app on my avh-x5600bhs with cd-ml100 add on. Any ideas?

Not sure about your stereo but on mine I had to change the phone connection to Mirrorlink from Bluetooth or Android Auto. When it connects the screen will show the Rockscout app. Then hit the back button and it reverts to a full mirror of the screen. Can't run the app until phone is connected via Mirrorlink.

It was installed when I had the stereo put in. They didn't even ask if I wanted it. They just did I it. I hear they are pretty cheap and easy to install. I believe you can find them on Amazon.

My one+ one doesn't have mirrorlink, but the app doesn't use traditional mirror link, if not mistaken.
Bump
It works on Appradio 4 with my rooted S5 and my unrootable S6 but it doesn't work well. Whenever to hit the home button it restarts the Rockscout app and you have to go through the splash screen again. It makes it difficult to quickly toggle to the TouchWiz home screen. Of course you can use the "back" key, but that's annoying if you're several layers deep in an app and just want to get to the home screen. I wish we could reprogram the home button after Rockscout launches.
Before I start, I wasn't really sure what section this was supposed to go in, so excuse me if this is the wrong section.
So recently i've been trying a few things
first of all, I wanted to connect my OnePlus One to my Gear 2 Neo, which, at the time, had the Stock OS. My opo had Android 4.something and it succeeded. However, when I updated my phone to Android 5, it no longer worked. I waited quite a while, and just didnt use the watch at all. After a while I found out that I could change the OS my watch had, so I installed Android Wear. It did a pretty good job, apart from some things crashing all the time. One problem Android Wear has though; I couldn't directly call from my watch nor could I use the Watchon Remote app that was on Tizen. So I decided to install the stock OS on my watch. I also noticed that Samsung had released Gear Manager for Non-Samsung phones. So I thought it would work, however, whenever I try to search for the watch, It doesnt find it.
Here are the questions:
Is there any way to take the Watchon Remote from Tizen and somehow install it on Android Wear? ( If yes, second answer doesn't need to be answered (Also, I know that there is some kind of IR blaster but it doesn't seem to work for the kind if device I use)
If not, how do I connect my OnePlus One to my Galaxy Gear 2 Neo with the new Gear Manager app?
Is it possible to modify Android Wear, making it possible to use a dialer on my watch, and use it as a phone?
I really hope someone could help me out because this has really been bothering me lately.
Thanks in advance,
Raeeh.
i dont think you can port the apps from tizen to AW and the speakerphone in AW doesnt work yet. Thats the one thing in tizen i miss
Hi!
I've been using this headset (level u from samsung) for some time now an the controls worked fine. Then now suddenly i can't skip tracks or start/pause music. Calling works fine tho.
I know that something is up with the phone because the level u works fine on my fathers p9 lite. I failed to find anything related to the matter, and im hoping that you guys could help me figure it out.
(didn't update since i got the headset) I'm on stock 6.0.1 no root locked bl. D5803
Tried other mediaplayers for solution but i'm left w/o positive results.
Thanks in advance.
For some reason it is working again. As a last resort i blocked the music app (the prpblem started occuring after an update of the sony music app as i later realised), so i could redownload the updates for it. I dont know if that solved it, or some random event im not aware of.
