[Q] CM7 on roaming

Hi,
I flashed the latest stable CM7 for the i9000 last night and now i can't get 3G signal. I flashed back to the stock Bell rom and everything worked fine, but when I put CM7 I only get a roaming signal.
I'm on Fido in Montreal and I've put the correct fido apn, but the phone recognizes the sim as CAN Rogers Wireless Inc. Before it would first state Rogers and then automatically switch to Fido and I'd have full 3G signal, but now it just says on Rogers and roaming.
I've tried installing different modem files, but still no luck.
I can't make calls or use the internet.
Can anyone please help me?
Thanks in advance!
hello
my friend i really like this rom but i have many problem with it . compass . calls cant install some apk ......... and other problems
now i use the last gingerbread xxjvt with new kernel with adw launcher and it very fast and very nice
here how to install it
http://www.techgom.com/2011/10/install-235-gingerbread-xxjvt-on.html
here how to root it with new kernel
http://www.techgom.com/2011/10/cf-root-for-gingerbread-235-xxjvt.html
-------------
i hope this help you and don t forgot to save all your files in pc and remove external card
I managed to get it to work after trying different radio and modem files, but now i have another problem.
I am with Fido, but the phone now identifies the network as Rogers Wireless. I know they're both the same network, but before it would be identified as Fido. Is this a problem? Are there any risks of being charged roaming fees?
I'm using the same Fido APN as before...

GSM Problem after flashing ROM

Dear friends,
I have a Samsung Galaxy Note. I tried flashing several custom ROMs. Then I figured out that my GSM modem loses signal every now and then and I have to restart the phone every couple of minutes. (Going to flight mode and returning back also works).
I thought it relates to Custom ROM, so I get back to the stock ROM, but didn't solve the problem. I tried flashing different modems using Odin, but all of them are losing signal... So currently I can't use my phone
I live in Iran and tried the following modems:
XXLA1
XXLA3
XXLA4 (My friend's Galaxy Note official ROM uses this as base band)
Maybe I have to get back everything (include partitioning) to factory defaults from the scratch... But how?
FYI: My SIM works well on other phones.
Please help... :crying:
Check your efs folder. Search the forums.

In my case, GALAXSIMUNLOCK didn't work :crying:
Also I used EFS Pro to recover NV data and still no hope... I don't have any backup from my EFS folder.
Any other opinion?
How can I restore everything to factory data including EFS and all partitions? Could it work at all?
no way to restore efs to factory defaults if you don't have a backup of that time.

Is it possible to copy that from another Galaxy Note in the same network?
havent tried it... but the efs contains IMEI and some mac info ogf wifi and bluetooth.. may be these things will get affected of you do so,,

I don't have any IMEI problem, nor a network lock. When there is signal, everything works fine just as usual. There's even no disconnection during calls. But when I leave the phone alone, it loses signal after 5-10 minutes (sometimes more) and I have to restart or enable and disable flight mode.
Maybe it is not related to efs or network lock at all...
[[Update]]
I figured out that the problem only occurs in my apartment's neighborhood and both SIM and GNote 7000 work well anywhere else. But the problem raised just after I changed the ROM.
Could there be something wrong with the nearby BTS and Galaxy Note? My SIM works well in an old Nokia phone in the same area!
normally it should be fine if you flash the modem/radio on your own region.
when you said you have flashed so many modem file, is it from other region, or is it from your own region ?
Previously when I got problem with the signal / network provider, I will just flash back the modem of my own region. Everything works well.

[Q] Stuck 1x no data after Gingervolt/Broken Out 2

This was a new out of box phone on zv9. I rooted and wifi tethered my 4g (my only source of internet at home) but latency was high so I though I'd go back to my old decrap v1 froyo rom to see if that fixed my latency issues with this new phone (same make and model as my old one). I couldn't find any working links to the old froyo roms so begins the current problem..
I flashed gingervolt 2.0 and sim card would not activate after many attempts. I assumed this was because it's zv7 which I hadn't noticed.
So I flashed broken out 2.0 which says works with zv9. Unfortunately I didn't go back to my stock back up which I made before flashing gingervolt.
so basically, I went from stock zv9 to gingervolt and then straight to broken out 2.0.
My sim card activates on broken out 2.0 - at least I think - it's showing my phone number / prl version / network verizon in about phone, but also says mobile network state: disconnected. I have 2 bars but no 1x/3/4g symbol and no connectivity or calling ability.
I'm downloading the stock zv7 gb rom right now, but I'm guessing this won't fix it. Am I going to have to use LGNPST? And if so should I use zv8 if going to gingervolt?
I tried searching the forums, but there's 1000's of posts about 1x when the network went down and I'm on dial-up right now so I don't really have the ability to search through multiple threads.

broken out is a zv8 or zv9 rom. gingervolt is for zv7. dont flash gingervolt on zv8/zv9.
what android version does it say on your about phone menu? find out your version, wipe data in clockword recovery, then flash the correct rom.
have you tried rebooting or cycling airplane mode? that works for me sometimes.
your sim card slot or the card itself might be screwed. try shimming it to improve contacts between the pins and the chip.

Well, I went ahead and used LGNPST to flash stock unrooted ZV9 back on it and it's still doing the same thing..
It finds service, but says Mobile Network State: Disconnected in about phone.
WiFi is off, Data is turned on.. I've rebooted/airplaned and messed with the sim card a lot, but I don't think the sim is the problem since it's connecting to the verizon network just not to data.
I have 2 bars as I normally would have, just no 4g or 3g data connectivity.

Could this be the problem even though I've gone back to zv9 using LGNPST and it still has no data? I know that gingervolt wont work on my zv9 firmware due to improper radio, but now that I'm back on a zv9 rom the radio should be working (which it is just no data) perhaps it's an activation problem or perhaps when loading a zv7 rom on zv9 firmware something has been corrupted? but that should have been fixed with the firmware flash I just did.
I'm gonna try calling verizon and see if they can reactivate my sim card; maybe that is the issue.

Yep, that was the problem.
Apparently, at the same exact time I flashed broken out, verizon had decided to switch my data usage allowance - which deactivated my sim card.
I called and they reverted the data usage allowance, as I hadn't activated a phone on their subsidized pricing, thus I'm not bound to a new contract.
so the good news is I went ahead and used LGNPST to flash zv7 firmware and now I am gingervolted and still have my unlimited data.
good news and happy endings.

[Q] Flashed a rooted stock rom (Odin) Now no 3G service

Hello,
I recently tried to root my GT-i8190N by flashing a pre-rooted rom (Baseband version I8190NXXAMG1). All appeared to work well until today I realised I cant access mobile data even when it is turned on in the settings. I even tuend on data roaming but no luck. Any idea what could be wrong?
Thanks,
Barry

invalid sim after flashing

hey guys, i'm new to this LG world (noob alert). I bought an LG G4 LS991 sprint a couple of days ago, and everything was working. then i tried to flash marshmallow zv9 on it, it worked but i lost signal, sms, calls, 2g, 3g everything related to the carrier (invalid sim) .
I tried reverting back to zv6 but the issue remained. the sim is working fine on other phones. ps: i live in Morocco (outside US).
i tried alsmot everything and i have one solution maybe left :
My friend has the same model and the sim is working nicely since he didn't flash it. so is there a possibility to backup his data and recover it on my phone, or just the carrier information , donnow !!! any ideas will be appreciated.
I flashed with LG up and lg flashtool, i'm not very familiar with adb.

Looks like you have to sim unlock it again. Check this post over here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/sprint-g4/general/guide-sim-unlock-t3229801
