Hi there,
I have had a look around to see if anyone has had a similar problem but can't find anything.
I'm running PAC-ROM nightlies on my xperia z (just flashed 1017) and all works great. but I thought I'd be daring this morning and flash lightning kernel as I've been reading good things.
So I flashed Version 8 intelliplug with the 283 blobs and now my Z is restarting itself every 10 minutes and getting pretty warm. So i've restored with twrp to before I flashed the kernel and everything is ok again.
Can anyone suggest what i'm doing wrong? I'm clearing dalvik cache as I always do after flashing a new nightly.
Thank you!

not that I know of.... lol I've not changed a single thing relating to the 'performance' options. I had the same thought, but surely default settings wouldn't be an issue?
Is there a way I can check all is correct?
Install kernel tweaker app and change max CPU to 1.5 GHz
Wysłane z mojego Xperia Z przy użyciu Tapatalka
I've been using CM 11 Infected 10102014 build with Lighting Kernel Version 8 intelliplug. So far so good, no issues here.
Currently on min 270GHz , max 1242GHz
Try install Trickster MOD settings from Google Playstore and tweak your GHZ and GPU in there.
Nice work guys, thank you!
I re-flashed lightning kernel and quickly raced to the performance settings on the PAC-ROM's settings page. noticed the max CPU clock was set at 1836.... I find it strange that it was automatically set to this but I've dropped it to 1512 and its sorted!
Now you've opened a can of worms and i'm trying out different governors. Any recommendations?
Thanks again.
Sorry for the late reply XD
But here, check out this thread! It helps a lot http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s2/general/ref-kernel-governors-modules-o-t1369817

Hello xda,
I am posting here as i do not have sufficient rights to post in developer section.
My Q is that is anyone facing problem in boype's modded CyanogenMod 7 latest builds:
cm-7-package-20120916-p970-boype
cm-7-package-20120909-p970-boype
I am facing atleast one SOD per day.
This is not an accusation, just a question.
If anyone could solve the problem.
Even bagr84 is also facing the problem as he said in his reply.

Did you do a full wipe before installing the ROMs? Did you restore apps and data with Titanium Backup?
I only had that problem, when I either not did a full wipe, or restored via TB.

Thanks for the quick reply.
I do data reset and dalvik cache reset from CWM before flashing any rom
and
I always do the all apps manual installation process after flashing any rom.
Same problem I faced in both the builds I mentioned.
Before the cm-7-package-20120909-p970-boype build the rom was stable for me.
Never tried tweaking anything else except for the graphic ones.
Thanks
I got SODs with the 20120909 build. They went away after I set the minimum CPU clock to 400MHz (interactivex-governor).

Currently i rebeveted back to 20120905 from 20120916...That is i flashed 20120905 back on 20120916
Did wipe/reset, wipe dalvik cache, cache reset.
No SODs so far ...
But facing a new problem.. when I connect my phone to mass storage it restarts.
Any clue?
And on 20120905 the minimum cpu clock is 200MHz default governor and still no sod.
And doesnt setting minimum cpu clock to 400MHz will eat battery?
Any solution for my new problem?
No replies?
No one is facing such problems?
Sorry but what is SOD. New here that's why asking..

Hey
Thanks man.. it helped...
back to boype's 20120916 build and minimum clock to 400MHz ....
no sods so far...
Just a quick notice: I've upgraded to boype's 20120925 build yesterday which contains changes to help against SODs. I've changed minimum clock back to 200 MHz to see if it the new version is better. I had no SOD so far. I'll keep an eye on it.

Hey
I have also upgraded to 20120925 build but have the same settings as before.
Governor - interactivex
min cpu freq - 400 MHz
I'll too change it to 200 and chek.
Thanks.
I had few SoDs after I've updated to the latest build. I've change minimum freq to 400MHz.
I had no SODs, but I had two spontaneous reboots to recovery-mode while in standby. I'm also going back to 400 MHz minimum clock now.
Yeah minimum clock to 400 MHz works fine.... no SOD's so far ... using at this setting since my last reply.
This maybe out of topic but anyone facing USB mass storage problem, the flash drive not shown on the computer screen or instant restart at USB mass connection turned on ...

etc.
which cpu settings no sods no fcs no wakelocks and without problems?
could you tell me?
Hello everyone!
I apologize for my english...
Yesterday I flashed The Galaxy Project v. 14.02 (latest)rom with boeffla kernel. I've had weird, random FCs, so i flashed AGNi kernel, because i thought, that these fcs are kernel fault. It didn't help me. I think, that these fcs are just because of auto-rotation on. Before flashing this rom, i've flashed rxtreme, but these problems were on it too. I was working on TGP v.12.02 and everything was fine. Please help me guys, because I can't even turn off auto-rotation to watch some videos or play gl games.
Wysłane z mojego GT-I9305 przy użyciu Tapatalka
Why do you think it is caused by auto rotation? Does it fc when the phone rotates? If so have you tried alliance rom? I am using that at the moment and no fcs so far especially when phone rotates. If that is not the case then do you have knox bootloader? If so try stock kernel, otherwise a full wipe might be required
AS suggested full wipe and reinstall .

clean flash is the best way of installing a new rom.ignoring will results in random fc's,freezes
FCs and freezes
Hello,
before flashing 14.03 in Philz recovery I did a full wipe AND "format /sdcard". So /data/media was wiped, too.
The installation of the ROM was successfully completed. In addition I updated the Boeffla kernel (5.1 stable). Afterwards the Playstore updated several apps (incl. Boeffla config app).
However, I get random FCs and freezes, e.g. while listing to music (ROM-mp3 player or MortPlayer Audiobooks), reading some documents, screen rotation, charging or doing nothing etc. Anytime this happens it seems that the UI restarts.
If relevant: Besides Wanam there is Xprivacy (stable v1.11) installed - and AFWall+.
Even deselecting both modules and deactivating xposed in Titanium the FCs and freezes are still "alive". AGNi kernel didn't help either.
In AllianceROM v2.3 there were similar problems!?!
Any help?
Have u tried an aosp based ROM rather than touchwiz?
Sent from my GT-I9305 using Tapatalk
Yes, a few weeks ago I flashed OmniRom 4.4 and CM 10.2.
I cannot remember any of those problems with them. Because I want to use xprivacy (as modul in xposed framework) AOSP ROMs are no real alternative for me.
But also with Sammy based ROMs 4.1.2 (like Ripper or Alliance 1.x) everything was fine.
The things above mentioned seem to be ongoing problems with Sammy based ROMs 4.3 (i.e. Alliance 2.x or TGP 14.03). Maybe I should give TGP 12.x give a try?
This morning I deleted cache repeatly. Since then no problem anymore (til when?)
Hello everyone!
Yesterday i have flashed Jelly Bean rom- rXtreme. I came from cm, because of extremely high battery drain(9hours -100% without playing games and surfing on the net). I like touchwiz, so I flashed rXtreme rom made by r_i_x. Everyone is just fine, except the camera. When i flashed stock or agni kernel phone had system fcs after turning on the camera app. When i flashed boeffla it doesnt fc, but i have black screen. What can i do? Sorry for my english guys.
PS. I did full wipe even with format internal sd and system folder.

Device: Sony Xperia SP C5303
ROM: Cyanogenmod 11 nightly (20150323)
Status: Rooted, Bootloader Unlocked
3 months ago I decided to use my phone to its full potential. I rooted it and unlocked the bootloader with Flashtool. After that I loaded the boot.img with fastboot from the ROM Zip and later I cleaned the cache, data and dalvik. I installed a stable version of the cyanogenmod 11 with google apps.
Now the bad part: EVERYTHING is slow. The phone takes almost 2 minutes to turn on. it takes 5 seconds to wake up and sometimes it doesn't even wake up and crashes. This device has been countlessly wiped, installed new roms and whatnot but it still lags, stutters and is actually worse than stock. Also the slowness started already after the first installation of CM 11. I tried custom roms here from XDA (f.e. CM 12 from bagyusz), even FreeXperia but the slowness is across all of these the same.
My question is (if anybody is able/wanting to help me) where did I mess up?

Download Trickster Mod Kernel Settings and see if maybe - it shouldn't happen - the maximum frequency of your CPU is locked to a very low value.
Also, from the General tab of Trickster Mod Kernel Settings you can see whether both cores of the CPU are online. Maybe your phone has got damaged hardware.

As i am aware of official cm11 is EXTREMELY SLOW, try to do clean install of the lbl versions of cm11 for example the mateos337 one.
But be sure to clean install just format everything exept storage you have your zips on.
Btw i am running official release of liquidsmooth 3.2 and i can not complain about one single thing....

This is the Q&A thread for Helium.
You don't know where to post something? This schema will help you.
Questions about the kernel (Does it have ****?) > here
Problems you faced, and/or their solutions > here
Weird problems I could be able to solve > the development thread
Things I should read/know > the development thread
Questions that can be answered by any user (not only by me) > here
Miscellaneous posts > here
In a nutshell, if you have to post something that I have to read, post it in the development thread, otherwise use this thread.
I will not read this thread at all. Or maybe I'll check it every now and then
Mention me if I should read something.
Testing helium in temasek, for now all working right and cpu freq. goes to 1728Mhz. Very similar to last stock cm kernel but with usb fast charging :good:
I have a question @tommons (or sombody): Why do you include KSM? In Tangerine kernel it made the device laggy, increasing the power consumption due to the continous work of cpu cores and soon many of us saw that this feature wasn't good to our Xperia Sp. I always leave it off and better overall performance is achieved.
In init.d options of Kernel adiutor we can see the entry 01tangerine. Delete this entry is the same that going to /system/etc/init.d? I suppose that is.
BTW, great work and thanks for your dev time.

KSM (in v2, UKSM) is there as an option. Nobody forces you to use it It uses more power but the result is a better RAM management.
Yes you can delete 01tangerine from Kernel Adiutor too.
Trying v2 with carbon 5.1.1 seems everything OK..good work man ;D

Flash the stock boot.img of your CM build (if you have CM+Addons, it would be better if you flashed the boot.img of the Addons you have installed on your device), enter TWRP, install Helium.
Or, in an easier way, next time you update your CM nightly flash Helium instead of Tangerine!

Overclock needs some work and I'm very busy at the moment. Frequency fixes will come very very soon. In the mean time you can flash v2.1, which hasn't got any issues with frequencies.
@Tomoms I am not able to install v2.2 on cm 12.1 using twrp it says unpacking kernel and nothing happens I have to hard reboot.anyone know how to solve this?

Good! Well, actually that's bad, but I expected it. Will fix ASAP (that is, unfortunately for you, on Sunday/Monday).
Use v2.1, it doesn't have problems.
For the others: I remind you that this doesn't mean v3 is buggy. This bug appears only on certain devices confused and mine is one of the "lucky" ones. So the best thing to do is to try v3 and see if you're lucky or unlucky. Hopefully, the bug will be fixed with v3.1.

Is TRIM support planned? I think that it is essential for device with such slow flash memory.
As for now I'm using heavily customized Tangerine 9.2 + last Xenon HD which gives great performance, but has issues (inaccurate GPS, big lag after locking the screen, touchscreen not working couple times a week and a few more). Tested latest CM12.1 + Helium 3.1 for few hours and it looks promising, but feels slower than much more bloated Xenon HD + Tk9.2 (used since September) possibly due lack of TRIM support.

You can use the command line utility called fstrim or mount the partitions with the "discard" option. The latter way is more difficult because it requires unpacking the kernel, the ramdisk, and then repacking everything.
Swap crashing problem is resolved in v3.2?

I think that it was my mistake - I cannot remember if I enabled root before issuing TRIM - shame on me
I am using Trimmer utility and running it resulted in instant execution without returning trimmed size in gigabytes pointing that either root was not enabled or TRIM was not supported. Judging by your reply I can assume that TRIM is supported so I think that I'll make second attempt to CM12.1 when touchscreen issue is fixed* or CM13 when camera will be working.
* I just read that @Adrian DC fixes has been merged in 3.2! I will check that kernel as soon as I can!
