[Q] Cant freeze OTA - Verizon LG G2

Everyone says to download Titanium backup pro and freeze system update muc. Problem is that i cant find a system update muc, or anything like it. I have about 14 hours until it forces the update and it bricks my phone again. Any suggestions ?

You could kdz back to 24A (so you're stock, no custom recovery), root with ioroot25, take 26A ota, then use freedom tool to install twrp.

I've attempted that before bit I can't get my phone into download mode for some reason.

But when I go into TiBU and look under Backup/Restore I see the System update MUC you're referring to...

I think the reason that I cant find it is because I previously went into my file explorer and changed the module update client.apk to mobile update client.old
I was told that might stop the OTA but I guess I will find out in about 45 minutes.

Update: I changed the mobile update client back to .apk from .old
Restarted my phone and opened tibu a d found the system update muc and froze it. Hopefully this solves my problem.

D3 update rolling out already?

Just readon the moto forums that the update is rolling out and can now be pulled via about phone > updates. I updated previously but has anyone not in the soak test got the update yet?

Yes, i'm downloading it now

I checked for the update and it's available. I don't want to lose root though. Will someone post details after updating? Root, bloat, good or bad?

You will want to re-bloat your phone before updating or it will fail. Root will be lost but 1-click root still works on the update.

I tried checking, and get the message "Check for update is not available at this time. Try again later."
It seems something is definitely up, as normally I would just receive a message that my system is up to date.
I don't see why you guys just haven't used the fastboot or .zip already... been available for a month.

It will fail if you removed/froze any apps.

It's something I was just waiting to be ota personally. A lot of the issues it is said to fix never really bothered me except for the blue tint in pictures.

Assuming you did not remove any stock apps besides the two Gameloft demos and just froze the apps using Titanium:
1. Unfreeze the apps using batch mode in Titanium
2. Install the update
3. Reroot using the one click method. I unfroze and updated at work and now just finished rooting again.
Yeah it's random. Have two non-rooted D3's one of them got pushed the update and the other one is stuck checking for the update. Came here to see what was up.
Got the ota update this morning on my stock D3. Downloaded and installed and the install failed and then the home screen came up but with no 3G connection. Pulled the battery and nothing happened. Called Verizon and they had me pull the battery and then do a hard reset. Still no 3G connection. Got Motorola on the phone and they had me do a manual reset, but still no 3G connection. Verizon is sending me a replacement phone overnight.
Fail. Lol

I unfroze the apps before trying. Nothing was previously removed. Anything that was frozen has unfrozen properly.
EDIT: Found the reason for the message: Social applications was set to "sync over wifi only" which was causing the message. Now I get the "checking for available update. Please wait..." and it's been going about 3 minutes so far, no update found. Does not look like data is being sent/received while it's checking, either.

I downloaded xposed framework on my LG G2 vs980 ioroot 21 twrp recovery & was making status bar tweaks mostly & after rebooting pushing my home button would pop up systemui has stoped? Looking on titanium backup the home apk was gone (not the launcher the system apk!) With no backup? I'm a noob but would never uninstall that & had all my apps backed up but it was gone? I'm retarded & couldn't recover my phone & had to hard factory reset my phone. After reset systemui still crashes & the LG wizard crashes at syncing contacts? I've tried going back to stock firmware but again I'm a noob & can't figure it out. Will the kitkat update fix this? I can't really wait for Verizon to get with the program can anybody help me via teamviewer? I'm lost without my phone & just plain going nuts jumping through hoops getting to apps. Thank you for reading any help is appreciated

Im assuming you were just on stock? If you install a recovery, then just make a nandroid in case this happens.
As long as you didn't have a recovery installed, the reset should have fixed it I would think. Use the lg flash tool and the 11a tot tile and that should set you back to out of the box new.
Using the 24a leak should also work.

If the lg flash tool is giving you issues, have you downloaded the updated united drivers?
Have a second computer you can try? Sometimes the computers operating system makes it fail

Yeah stock rom twrp recovery with a nandroid backup couldn't recover I have no idea why? All the apks xposed erased were erased on titanium with no backup & I had every system app backed up I even have every system app backed up with my backup pro & it fails to install them. Everything is ready to go on the LG flashtool but a milky way error pops up upon trying to install? Install the kitkat aosp nightly rom says no command & after factory reset my status is still rooted even if I'm not.

The milky error is common. It's even in the description of how to restore to stock. And are you trying to run the LG flashtool with the phone on? And not in download mode
Sent from my VS980 4G using Tapatalk
No phones in DL mode I've tried everything I can think of checked unchecked milky way port read a few different how to 's on how to do it & everthing looks right start to finish? I'm on 12b I bootlooped my phone & someone via teamviewer restored it back to stock firmware everything is in place but the firmware was 11b but I've seen post saying flash back to 11b from 12b I could be mistaken?

Sprint G Flex Not Updating

I just got the OTA update for the G flex for 4.4.2 1 week ago and every time I try to update it, it reboots into the installer and gets to about 33% and then reboots leaving me on 4.2.2. Anybody know how to fix this?
Do you have a custom recovery or have modded, frozen or deleted any system files or apps processes etc...
Sent from my LG-LS995 using XDA Free mobile app
are you rooted? if you have a custom recovery it will not take the OTA.

No i am not rooted. I am at stock everything.
Update: I took it to the sprint store and their computer will not even recognize my G Flex so they cannot force update it.

Try reflashing it with the LG Flash tool following these steps TO THE "T"
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2644083
back up all your shizz, follow the instructions and then try updating once you get the notification again. worked for me. I had the same issue but mine HAD been rooted and i just happen to unroot it and i got the notification shortly after. did this (return to "OOB" state) and it took the update

HELP Please!!

My LG G2 (Verizon/VS980) was rooted on stock OS 24A. TWRP was installed as recovery.
This phone took a software update and now it's stuck in TWRP recovery. Help please.
Root no longer matters as long as I can get an OS back running on it.
Thank you.

If you have twrp it'll be easy to get it back on. First if you made a twrp backup just restore it. If not then
Second of all do you have any Roms on your internal memory? If so just install one through twrp.
Third if u have none of those you can either side load a rom through twrp and flash it.
Or you can go back to stock using this thread which should work 100% but you'll lose any data you had on your phone including pictures and other media http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2448960

There's a command you need to run to fix it, looking for it now.

NEVER take an OTA update without the stock recovery...
