Hi guys !
First sorry for my poor english !
I bought a HTC One M7 on Ebay in France. I knew that it was bricked. I said to me : thanks to XDA-DEV, no problems.
One week later, the phone was at home. I began to search what's the problem, I can go in fastboot and recovery (TWRP).
I tried to flash ROM, no one works. "ADB DEVICES" doesn't work in fastboot but work in recovery. Other ADB and FASTBOOT command seems to work in fastboot.
When I tried "FASTBOOT GETVAR ALL" in fastboot, I got this :
C:\adt-bundle-windows-x86_64-20140702\sdk\platform-tools>fastboot getvar all

OH ! This a sprint HTC One, hope can use it in France !
Try ViperOne ROM : work but stay on locked screen and when I try to unlock I got white page with green HTC logo.
I tried a lot of things : Format data partition, RUU ...
I realized too that thre is no baseband (see before) so I think I need to S-Off the phone and flash firmware but is there any problem to S-Off the phone without a functionnaly ROM ? Actually, there is a SPRINT HTC ONE ROM (m7wls_Stock_Rooted_5.03.651.3_DeOdex_Full) which work like ViperOne ROM. The other problem is HBOOT 1.57 .
I just need an idea to make phone back to life. Someone got one ?
Thank you to read me.
I forgot : in twrp recovery, there is written "unable to mount /cache" ...
This phone will soon fly
X
Is someone can tell me if the cidnum is mormal or if it was modified before ?
THX
Nobody can help me ?
X
Answer to me, may be can help someone :
1/ use this post : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2470569&page=1
Don't know if it really help me ...
2/ Flash ViperOne.zip via "adb sideload" in recovery
3/ The rom work during may be 2 minutes before bootloop so managed to "mode plan" by press Power button
4/ Bootloop ... Install Begin so have to do quick and setup wifi
5/ Install ElementalX Kernel
5/ Flash Firewater really quickly before Bootloop
6/ See tomorrow for next step ... My wife is waiting for me
X
I would get the Newest RUU, Extract the ROm and install it with USB.OTG (it costs about 2-6 euros and the are well spent)
im fromGermany and i bricked mine too. First uninstall everything (Yes even the OS)
then in twrp use the USB OTG. (Put the rom in the root folder)
now Just flash it.
Tell me if oyu need help or need more information, i know its really hard at the first time
Hi ! There is life in my post ! Hello Germany !
Ok see my post before yours ... My HTC is unbricked since It is S-Off.
I think the owner who I bought it changed CID. So i wasn't able to flash it with RUU, it had always an error. Install ROM via recovery was OK but Radio didn't install so the phone had bootloop every may be 2 minutes.
So I managed to S-Off it between 2 bootloop and so was able to change with supercid and execute RUU who bring it totally back to life.
The phone work with french SIM but come from SPRINT so not totaly functional.
Thank You !

You should delete your serial number and imei.
Also, you can access boot loader and recovery, so your phone is savable.
Step one is to calm down. Nothing you do while freaking out will help.
You tried to flash an unsigned firmware zip while you're S-On.
The easiest way to recover the phone would be through an RUU. Do some searching and see if there's one for your cid.
If not I would recommend flashing a custom recovery, then a custom rom to get you up and running. Once the phone boots you can move your stock backup to the correct location on the phone, and restore it.
EDIT:
Before you go through all that, try flashing a custom kernel that is compatible with the last rom you were using. It may be as simple as the firmware contained a boot.img.

Thank you so much for your reply, i have somehow tried to restore my backup and it was successful but touch screen was not working.
so right now i have installed custom rom and it is working fine,
now i am in no hurry,
can you help me to unroot this phone ? i need to claim warranty against it.
so as you said, do i have to S-off to install that RUU(one with above link) file and get unroot ?
or what else i can do ?
Thank you so much once again......

1- The reason touchscreen didn't work is because of the updated drivers in firmware. What you could do after you restore your stock rom and stock recovery, is use an OTG cable with a mouse to receive the OTAs.
2- In order to return 100% to stock - ie LOCKED, not RELOCKED and no TAMPERED in hboot), you need to have S-Off. Unfortunately, you have hboot 1.55 for which there is no S-Off at the moment.
sorry to be noob over here.
1) so right now i cannot not get to 100% stock i.e. locked & no Tampered i hboot, any how ?
my question is can i downgrade hboot and do s-off ?
if not then i'll wait for 1.55 s-off support meanwhile
2) with custom recovery (TWRP) i'll restore my backup , so i'll be with custom recovery and stock rom, & i'll use OTG cable to install OTAs
but can you explain me how to install OTA's (can be installed with custom recovery(TWRP) ? cause touchscreen is working at TWRP)
sorry once again for silly questions and bad English
Thanks,

There is way to downgrade. Sorry.
As for when 1.55 support comes, it is rather a matter of IF not necessarily WHEN. There are no progress reports on this, so no one knows if it will become reality or not.

Once you restore your "stock rom", you also need to restore "stock recovery" (TWRP will not work) and relock your bootloader to be able to get OTAs (regular HTC OTAs)
So with precipitation I went a little too far and I do some big **** ...
I unloacked the bootloader of my HTC One by HTCDev, everything has gone fine, then with twrp I installed the stock rom of HTC GPE 4.4 and after the install, my HTC went to a bootloop after he loaded the rom and with the splashscreen of HTC first, perhapes I was in S-ON ...
So when I want to do the process to pass my HTC One in S-ON, I did something very noob and I wiped everything on the phone and then I have a big message "no os installed" when I want to reboot. Even stupider I have no backup ...
So I tried several methods until 3 am on a monday ;
- make a slideload adb with custom rom (not yet with a stock rom of HTC) but I had only fails
- make a push rom.zip with custom rom (not yet with a stock rom of HTC) but I had only fails
- to flash the stock rom of HTC that I could find with the cid of my HTC, in fastboot but always I get an error : FAILED (remote: 12 Signature verify fail)
Here's the info I have with the command fastboot getvar all:

Than you !

ALWAYS CENSOR YOUR IMEI!!!!
I also censor the serial number because I am a bit paranoid...
YES, your One is not destroyed! Calm down, it's just a softbrick.
And the cause of the faulty flash is because Android 4.4 needs S OFF to be flashed as far as I know.. but you can easily solve this. Clean all partitions(data, system, cache) and reflash a 4.3 rom... You can copy it to your phone while in recovery with this command:
adb push "C:\os.zip" "/data/media/os.zip"
Or simply use a USB OTG cable.. that's what I use since several months and it's the bucks worth
When you copied it, simply install it normally from TWRP and NOT CWM because CWM is buggy!

Take this one here:
http://www.androidrevolution.nl/downloader/download.php?file=Android_Revolution_HD-One_31.6.zip
No need to worry about CID since you are only flashing it with the recovery
So, I did what you told me, push by adb the rom and install by twpr, but immediately I have a Failed with thi error :
Error flashing zip 'data/media/os.zip'
Updating partition details...
I also the same failed and error when I try to wipe cache/dalvik
I also try this methode with another rom and same errors :S
Can you try the Canadian guide in my Sig?
Ok finally I could flash the rom android revolution hd 31.6 and my HTC One boot on the system without problem
In fact I corrupt the partition of the phone and twrp ask me a password when it launched because the data partition was empty. I had to swipe everthing and did a format data, reboot on recover and by adb sideload flash my rom.
Thank you !
But I have another problem, now I want to restore my stock rom, my CID is TELUS001 so I downloaded the corresponding RUU zip on the forum, in fastboot and in RUU mode I tried to flash the rom, but everytime it failed and it tell me FAILED (remote: 12 signature verify fail) when my bootloader is relock and it failed with the error message remote 99 error unknow when my bootloader is unloacked.
I'm on S-ON, I don't know if I can flash by fastboot on S-ON, or there is another solution to restore my stock rom ?
It seems the telus ruu zip is not working. In have detailed steps using telus nandroid in my Canadian stock thread
Ok, I''ll immediately checkt that !

Not needed to continue, unless you need root/s-off.
Just hit the thanks button on that post if it helped!
Thanks for yout help,
Juste another precision; I have actually a HTC One with stock rom, bootloader unloacked and S-ON
Can I ;
- restore any nandroid backup ?
- install the latest cyanogen rom ?
Thanks for your help !
I have literally spent more than 24 hours traversing the depths of internet hell looking for a fix for my phone. So what happened was I was flashing a rom and when it asked what carrier I was on I foolishly picked sprint. After that it has been a hell of bootloops. I couldn't even get into recovery. It showed me the TWRP screen startup for half a second and then proceeded to bootloop. Eventually I got a version of clockwork mod to work ( I used a ton of cmd commands to get to this point) but I am still without real progress.I was able to sideload viper but in the middle of installation it stopped and bootlooped again. At least I have a recovery now. I would be really, really grateful for any help.
The rom I messed up with was insert coin btw
i picked sprint foolishly because the rom I flashed before that somehow erased my phone radio. I wish I knew better. Figured I'll just use twrp to fix whatever happens. That didnt go too well.
Can anyone tell me where to go from here? Also depending on what I do the recovery bootloops as well

If you have a GSM phone and you flashed a Sprint or Verizon ROM/Radio that is the reason for bootloops. You will need to run a RUU or nandroid to reset your phone. Please post a fastboot getvar all removing the imei and serialno.

I could not find a RUU or nandroid for your phone. If you made a nandroid prior to trying insert coin or the previous custom rom now would be the time to use it. I also could not find a firmware.zip for your phone. One other thought, you might try to flash insert coin but select a GSM phone like T-Mobile, International or AT&T. It might put things back into the correct order.
This is a long shot, but if you could get S-OFF via firewater then you could flash a different RUU by changing your CID & MID.

Is it possible to flash a twrp backup from my laptop to my device? I was able to wipe the device which stopped the bootloops. I can also flash any other recovery and have them work properly now. But where do I go from here? I can't. get firewater because apparently you need a working internet connection on the device itself.:crying:
Yes. You can adb push your twrp nandroid backup to the phone. You just need to figure out the exact path

Ok so after alot of trial and error and whatnot my phone is back and running great. I was able to flash an old twrp to my device so I would have an os again. Then I flashed android revolution which has been working well since wednesday morning. What a journey. I'm inspired to help others here now. Gonna lurk and see if what I learnt can help anyone. There is no RUU for my version btw. Lucky I had that recovery lying around.:victory:
Thanks for all the help guys
Hi all,
I apologise for this as it seems there are a few soft brick posts to do with the M7 here. I've tried following them but I'm not having much success.
Last night I decided to root my phone in an effort to find a good ROM that looked good but also didn't have the same battery drain as the stock HTC Lollipop update.
Everything was ok to start with. Got the unlock code, followed a process on HTConeroot.com. Other than TWRP probably not being the latest version, all seemed ok. After SuperSU wouldn't start due to the incorrect binaries, I tried to update it through twrp and the trouble started. It would not start the OS and, being the noob, I pressed 'wipe' on twrp and i have no arrived at the following:
I am currently in a boot loop. It will not start the OS. I cannot gain access to recovery mode in TWRP either as the screen flashes up team winning and then just restarts. I can gain access to the Hboot screen and from there can do a USB fastboot link. However, I can't do anything with ADB as it doesn't recognise any device as being connected. Fastboot prompt works fine though.
In a nutshell, I'm looking to get the phone working again. I don't really need to go back to a stock rom - I was looking at google play edition or cyanogen (though I'm told the latter isn't *that* stable). Is someone able to help me?

Edit your post above and remove your IMEI and Serialno, keep these numbers private.
ADB doesn't work from bootloader, only fastboot will. ADB is only available from a custom recovery or from a booted OS with USB debug enabled.
You'll first need a working recovery so reflash twrp recovery:
Code:
fastboot flash recovery name_of_file.img
fastboot erase cache
fastboot reboot-bootloader
Thanks - I think I have it... I part way followed this thread - which means i've relocked the bootloader :/
http://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-one/general/lollipop-ruu-zip-small-collection-t3053944
however, I need to find an RUU of 7.19.401.30 - thought I'd found the right version only to get blocked at model number. I'd got the .22 instead.....
To date, I've not been able to...

There is no 7.19.401.30 ruu, the latest one is 7.19.401.22 and can't be flashed on your phone since its a downgrae in version (requires s-off)
Unlock your bootloader and flash your custom rom.
Thanks - I'm now in a stable TWRP env. I now need to figure out how to push a rom across to the phone.
Next question. Does s-mode have to be off. If so, how is this achieved via fastboot? (or is it a case of more tools and tinkering). As I've already made a hash of things once, I'm loath to do this........

You don't need s-off to flash a rom, if you want s-off for going back to stock using the ruu (downgrade) you'll first need a working rom. S-OFF can only be achieved from a working rom using Sunshine S-OFF
To push a rom to your phone, if you have a recent twrp version (2.8+) just boot your phone in recovery mode connected to your pc using the usb cable and you should be able to see your phone storage (like if it was a usb stick). just drag and drop your rom.zip to your phone and then in twrp select "install" and flash the rom. If you are one an older version of twrp, use adb to push the rom to your phone:
Code:
adb push name_of_rom.zip /sdcard
Thanks guys what solved it was:
Up to date version of TWRP
Latest version of Android revolution.
The reson it wasn't booting or providing some sort of DR was because I had somehow wiped everything from the phone. By way of complete fluke, I now have a rooted phone running on a completely clean install directory. Remind me to back up later on.
Hi
I have received a Htc One M7 , but I do not know how to find the compatible firmware/rom for it as it has already been flashed. It is now identified as M7wls (so it could be the Sprint variant) and runs a soulteam rom , which after reading some threads is a Chinese team. The main reason for changing is the poor battery life and the Chinese characters that appear in some system application. I could not find any modeln running a similar firmware/rom and I would like to avoid bricking it.
The backcase has the model no. PN07140. The fastboot screen says

I'm not an expert at this sort of thing, but it looks like someone took a Sprint m7 and ran SuperCID on it so they could install any ROM (judging by CID-11111111). My guess is that you can change the CID back to Sprint's (maybe you don't have to) and run the Sprint RUU to reset it. But, like I said, I'm not an expert in SuperCID stuff. Maybe someone else with more experience can chime in ( @Sloth : Heeey yooou guyyyzz).

Thanks for the reply. Would this mean that I can flash directly the latest Venom rom? Or as I am on KitKat only the rom based on kitkat?
Can you open a cmd window and type
fastboot getvar all
Do this while booted to fastbootusb
Hi, I have the same issue as paul_ro21, but I have flashed new firmware and am now stuck in bootloop. I have also managed to unlock the device.
Getvar all info below:

Any help greatly appreciated - I have tried Sprint RUU updates without success and don't seem to be able to change the CID on the phone.
My guess is you flashed the firmware for another M7 variant...I say this because I don't recognize the baseband.

Hi Sloth,
THANK GOD I CAME ACROSS THIS!!
So im in exactly the same boat as these guys, but i have flashed full firmware from below, and im stuck in bootloop:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2795856
I did that coz Santod's Nusense7 which i wanted to flash required latest radios, hboot, firmware, as it said:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/spr...t/rom-nusenseven-sense-7-0-v1-00-973-t3056647
I tried flashing the rom anyway but still stuck in bootloop (actually it boots straight into recovery now (twrp 2.7.1.2).
I know ive done something bad, dont know how bad but obviously the phone isnt bricked (thank God)! i need a way to bring my phone back to life even if it means having to live with the Chinese stuff on the phone as it came.
PLEASE SOMEBODY HELP OUT!! ANYONE??!
If its useful info, i also made a full twrp backup before this but saved it on my pc and not in my phone, i wondered if i could restore with fastboot at all and how..??
Oh, just in case... this is what fastboot getvar returns on my phone
C:\Program Files\Minimal ADB and Fastboot>fastboot getvar all

@Mr HaRR
Running the 6.23.651.6 RUU should get you fixed up.
Also if I remember correctly you have to flash the boot.img when flashing Nusense7.
Thanks sloth, im gonna give that a try and revert!
aaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!! thats me shouting for joy! so it worked and my phone is up and booting! sweet!
i hate to be a pain but i dont wanna ruin anything so im gonna ask a few more questions.. I'm guessing you are getting the "remote not allowed" error while flashing twrp? If so is the bootloader unlocked? Did you put the twrp.img in the correct folder?

Yes, i get the error when attempting to flash twrp. the boot loader is unlocked (or at least it still says it is). Still S-OFF. twrp.img in the correct folder (where i flashed it, and other things from previously).
I just read somewhere that this error could be due to "having stock boot/hboot".. not sure how true or what can be done about it if true...
or perhaps would installing on of the RUUs below (you pointed to in the Q&A section) help at least enable me use the phone on networks here, download twrp and try flashing a more recent rom?
