Hello,
Recently I have been noticing that my IIi appears to inform me of incoming calls rather late. When I wear my bluetooth headset I can hear the incoming call in my headset but it takes at least 5-7 seconds before the ringer on my phone starts ringing. By the time the ringer starts ringing to let me know of a phone call I have maybe 3-5 seconds to answer it before my voice mail picks up. Does anyone else experience this problem? Are there any solutions? It almost seems like the cpu just does not have the power to process the incoming call that quickly. Any help would be appreciated.
What headset are you using?
Does it have a delay without a headset?
On mine I get a delay with a headset that supports the handsfree profile (Jabra BT800) but not on a normal one, or without a headset.
My XDA2 did this also, but the XDA2 with WM2005 worked perfectly.
could be the time needed to find/load the ringtone ?
do you have caller id or ringtonex with different ringtones and/or pictures?
maybe loaded from memory card ?

I have the same problem with mine... I only get three rings to answer the phone - which can be pretty annoying!
I've not noticed whether having any form of headset makes a difference, though.
Ringing Delay
I upgaded to the latest version of software from 02 last week, since then I get what I can only describe as a "stutter" when the phone rings. I am also getting a lot of lost calls i.e the phone rings twice then says I have a missed call, but the people ringing me say that it goes to ansaphone ???

I have the same problems and the bluetooth flattens the battery in 4 hours. I used to have the XDA II with Sins cooked 2K3se and it was perfect, unfortunately I gave it to my son who won't give it back.
Hey, I have same problem, I got the latest ROM, and since then it got even worse. Does anybody knows how to fix the problem, modify ROM, or something, PLEase help.
Thank you.
the only solution i have to date is to change the answerphone delay, you can find your networks status codes here:

Mine starts after the 2nd. I think is a redraw problem. All the programs on this platform have the same issue (i.e. slow redraws) even the after the glyphcache workaround.. :?

My phone starts ringing after 4-5 rings even though the screen shows that there's an incoming call. But it vibrates at the 1st ring if vibrate is enabled.
Yup, I think is a redraw problem. Furthermore, if your ring tone is a mp3 with some formart hard to decode, i guess (only guess) it will add more delay.

The WiFi fix made my phone ring with a delay. Try without it.

Mine rings after two rings as well.. on IVAN rom with RAMDISK.
ANY SOLLUTION YET.
I was complaining same problem ,now I removed D3d driver and smartf -ilter now it rings on the second ringtone
It's an old bug that seems to appear in all the 1.5 versions. Make sure you stick to WAV ringtones and avoid MP3's, which should help keep it to a couple of rings delay.

It's solved.
[faria-mod edit ]no cross posting please.....
Greetings. I have an XDA2i. The problem that I am encountering, is to do with the ringer. When I recieve a call, the tone comes on, but it cuts out for a split second every 3 seconds (i've timed it, it's every 3 secs) which makes for a very broken up melody lol!
The onboard sound is working fine and all tones play fine in the sounds and settings window, and when txts come through it's fine too... seems to just be incoming telephone calls.
can anyone help me with this problem please??
TIA

I've got a wav recording of my baby laughing as my SMS incoming message sound which is around 10seconds long.
In my old sony ericsson phone (ordinary phones), whenever I receive a message, I just press any button and it stops the sound. I love the longer sound but on certain occassions, like in my office, I would like to turn off the sound using a single button.
With the Kaiser, I tried to press all buttons but it can't be silenced right away. It has to play the recording until the end. My option is to go to the HTC home plugin / audio, then set it to silent mode, which may take a little longer, or I just try to cover the speaker with my hand. biggrin.gif
Would you know of any shortcuts to stopping the sound?
Thanks.
Have you tried moving the wheel on the left down-wards?
Thats what I do when my phone "rings" when someone calls... just knock the wheel down and it silences it
tried it, didn't work.
thanks..
Same here. I chose a song as my incoming SMS that was 3 minutes long. I had to go to the notification settings page to silence it.
Any help would be appreciated.
As the guy above said, scroll the wheel down a turn or two. That silences incoming call alerts.
(And a 3 minute song as a ringtone is not the best idea. Edit it down to 20 seconds)

That didn't work for me with SMS. I scrolled down, up and hit every button on the device and it still wouldn't work. I edited down to about 10 seconds. That's well long enough for an SMS.
same problem
I’ve the same problem with my tytn.....if I don’t have a long sound I don’t see a new sms or mms even if sometimes the short sound it’s better!
also I’ve tried all buttons but they wouldn't work!
So...if don’t have any hardware solution…could I have some chance for a software solution?
How about just leaving you phone on vibrate when at work instead of disturbing everyone around you
Easy solution to you problem and your coworkers will probably thank you for it...
Or you know, using Audacity to pare down the length of the sound file?
thx for the answers....
i work in a lonely room...and the song volume isn't a problem...but i leave the phone everywhere...so i would like to stop the music sound when i've find the phone and i've read the new message!
Hello,
My Nexus6 Rings and Vibrates when someone calls for the first time. But only vibrates when the same person calls for the second time. From the second time onwards it doesn't rings, but only Vibrates.. If I delete the history of that particular incoming call from the Recents, then it will start ringing. Please let me know how can make the phone ringing all the time.
Thanks.
An update to this issue is:
When a call arrives multiple times with in 2 minutes, the phone gives a ringing sound for all the attempts. After 2 minutes of last attempt, the phone goes to a muted mode (only vibrates). The muted mode continues for the next 10 minutes. After 10 minutes, if a call arrives from the same number, the phone rings.
Is this a standard behavior in Android phones ? Or is there a setting to make the phone ringing all the time ?
