GPE may not have the right radios needed in UK. You may want to flash local radio separately.

hey guys, I bought an HTC HD7 phone off of a guy that brought his fone over from the UK and I'm on a rogers carrier so I can't get a 3G connection due to the diff bands I guess, so if I bought an HD7 phone off of a guy on a Bell carrier and I unlocked it, would I be able to get that 3G connection? cuzz this edge crap is driving me nuts! I have a great data plan and I wanna take advantage of it by streaming my fav radio stations and stuff like that....or is there a way of getting 3g on my current phone? cuzz I entered all the APN settings and still no 3G!!
ok so I'm guessing with the non responses that this cant be done, as I thought since the last 2 years bell switched to GSM AND CDMA to accommadate the iPhone users of their customers...which is why I was thinking I can use a bell HTC HD7 phone on a rogers account. CAN ANYONE confirm or deny if its possible? aaanyone?
ok thx for nothing guys...
as long as the 3G bands match, 3G should work.
couldn't find the 3G frequency bands for either Rogers or Bell Mobility in my quick google search.
but i believe AT&T and Rogers use the same 3G bands, so an HTC HD7S should work if you can find one.
I have a hd7 on bell. If I can find a friend on Rogers I will try swapping the SIM cards and seeing if that works.
wonderful! thx guys appreciate it...

quick google/bing search shows both Bell and Rogers use 850/1900..so yes, long as it's unlocked it should work just dandy
great sound kool, thx for the info
I'm using an unlocked Bell HD7 on fido (rogers), and 3G works great!
ahh kool! thx for the info
My AT&T One is a month old and I bought it for the AT&T network. Well, I've since dumped AT&T and moved the family to T-Mobile, My One is rooted, custom recovery, S-OFF, and 4.2.2 Stock ROM. Best of ll, there is a 1.26.502.12 RUU available to get me back to stock. And revone can be used to "lock" it again. Since I am now on T-Mobile now, I'd like to take advantage of T-Mobile wifi calling and their AWS band.
As of today, the AT&T version cannot use the AWS band. I do get 4G and LTE in populated areas, but I still get a lot of EDGE as well. Just wondering of I should sell it and buy the T-Mobile version. I think the T-Mobile can be rooted,, S-OFF, etc just like I did for my AT&T version... but last time I checked, there was not an RUU for the US T-Mobile version.
So... I have at least two options:
1. Keep the AT&T version and wait for the AWS band exploit to surface. And flash a T-Mobile ROM for wifi calling. Can I run a T-Mobile ROM (that supports wifi calling) and still keep S-OFF and root?
2. Sell the AT&T version on EBAY and buy a T-Mobile version, then root, S-OFF, etc. I can get a pretty decent price now, and the longer I wait, I guess the less I can get.
Any other options that I am not aware of to get AWS band? Or it it matter of just waiting for AWS? Or anything else I should consider?
Thanks...

Given the same situation, I would dump the AT&T version and get the T-Mo version. An RUU will come out eventually (probably the same amount of time that a AWS exploit comes out for the AT&T version) so that isn't a huge issue IMO. You can still get a decent amount for the One, considering all the hard work to it is done already.

Get the TMO version. It is made for the network, so why settle for less?
Thanks for the sanity check. I am currently selling the phone on EBay.

Yes tmo one ... There is no ruu but tmo is dev friendly, at least they were a year ago.

I was wondering if we can flash the T-mobile radio on a Rogers LTE enabled HTC ONE to make it workable for Mobilicity or Wind as they are AWS frequency carriers like T-mobile.
Will this work.
Im going to buy one, but it is really hard to find a T-mobile HTC one here.

Theoretically it's possible, but it hasn't happened till now. I'm eagerly waiting for this too! Guys here at XDA are trying hard to make it work (Basically they're trying to get an Internatioanal/AT&T version work with T-Mobile AWS). I'm optimistic, but not holding breath though.
yaaa
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2315880&page=25I'm waiting as well..I hope they can pull it off.
Haven't seen much progress lately although
Hi there,
I'm planning on getting the Google Edition HTC One from the US...but I'm from Canada. I was just wondering....would it work on a Canadian network such as Rogers, Telus, Fido or any other network
Thanks

Thank you so much.... was worried because I heard that it has some problems with the Verizon's network?

Verizon is unique in that it has a CDMA network, which Telus and Bell mostly abandoned several years ago. All of the Big 3's 3G HSPA networks use the same bands as AT&T. The HTC One also supports the AWS frequencies currently used in Canada for LTE.
But this is the Google Edition HTC One though....which is only available in the US...I was just wondering that this particular type of phone will only work in the US...but since its unlocked..I think that it should be fine in Canada!!!

Generally speaking (and probably with minor exception) devices that will run in AT&T on the United states will run on Ro-bell-us here in Canada.
GPe should work in addition to Dev Edition.
Thank you sir...all I have to do is to go to the Play Store and Add one of these on carts and get my hands on them!!!!
Wondering if there are any tmobile roms that work on a unlocked sprint version. I'm using a sprint rom now and it works ok. Just want to be the most compatible with tmobile as possible. I am a noob to using unlocked phones. I was with sprint for 10 + years and just switch to tmobile last week. Thanks in advance
Update- i flashed the the tmobile maximum ovrdrive n5 rom and its working great! Came from a sprint hybrid note 5 rom. Wiped and did a clean install and everything works great. Still no lte but my 4g has gotten better speeds. My new question is im still on my sprint ok1 modem should i try a tmobile modem or stay with it the way i have it?
I don't believe you can use a sprint phone on tmobile. Different network. And as for the rom. I don't think there are. I could be corrected but sprint phones are only good on sprints network and that's it.

Modern sprint phone support T-Mobile and ATT's HSPA network. Heck I used my unlocked Sprint S4 on ATT for about 5 months without any issues. Only thing was that I didn't get LTE.

I already have my sprint note 4 unlocked and working on t mobile Just don't get lte. Was wondering if a tmobile rom with the right modem would allow me to get lte. Maybe if a dev can make one or something
