Hi, so I decided to flash the lollipop OTA for XT1095 in a XT1097 I follow a guide that say that you have to backup the EFS folder and I did it, but after flashing the OTA the backup was missing, so now I don't have IMEI, I read somewhere that you can actually recover it but not the how.
Can anyone provide further assistance in this topic?
Thanks in advance

Hi everybody,
I'd like to ask what i have to backup before unlocking bootloader and flashing custom ROM.
I am Xperia-newbie so I rather ask before doing it. For eg. on Samsung Galaxy S was recommended to backup "EFS" folder and make ROM backup via CWM before flashing.
Is on Xperia SP something like "EFS" folder which I have to backup?
And can I somewhere download "original ROM" for Flashtool (Non-Branded GERMAN phone) if i want to revert my phone back to original (...warranty...).
Thanks for your replies...
Hi, before unlocking you need to backup TA here:

And if you want to revert back your phone to original you need to follow this tutorial:

Thanks, that helps me a lot!
For easy Update experience to Android I wanted to wait with root until the update to lollipop is done OTA. But now I read that unlocking may be slower and release notes say downgrade is impossible.
Is that statement that downgrade is impossible because of the conversion of apps to ART or does the format of the PDS partition with the IMEI change?
If lollipop does not work fine for me in the first version I'd like to have the possibility to go back. Should I root now to make a backup of the PDS with KitKat?

Dunno about "impossible" downgrade, but I borked shortly after rooting 5.0 and recovered with a nandroid backup of 4.4.4 made using this method. Note that I had to copy the nandroid to an SDCard and restore from TWRP that I had already flashed on 5.0. Seems the "fastboot boot recovery.img" command got broken in Lollipop.
Thank you! That means that I can start unlocking and rooting including backup of pds after the 5.0 update as planned

For anyone looking to downgrade who doesn't have a nandroid, I was able to downgrade from Lollipop to a fully operational 4.4.4 KitKat on the Consumer Cellular XT1064 by flashing files from RETUAWS_XT1064_4.4.4_KXB21.85-17_cid9_CFC.xml.zip (21.11.17) via fastboot using commands found in this procedure. However, after doing so, I got assert failed / installation aborted errors when trying to re-flash the Lollipop OTA. To eliminate these errors, I flashed the XT1064 original retail aws firmware (21.11.23), then followed the steps in the aforementioned link in full once again (i.e. downgraded, then applied the ota). See this thread for more details and download links. It may be possible to downgrade directly to 21.11.23, but I haven't tested that.
Hope the XT1068 will behave the same way - but I'm quite confident it will. Thank you for the detailed description of the way! Was there a special reason for you to downgrade?

You're welcome! While attempting to root Lollipop, I couldn't get twrp to persist after a full boot nor could I successfully install supersu (then ended up with an error message after trying to restore the stock recovery) so I decided to start from scratch. I've been holding out for chainfire autoroot to work on the xt1064 now that I'm back on a fully functional Lollipop.

I downgraded my XT1068 from Lollipop to Kitkat thrice without any probs.
Please can someone provide me with a TWRP backup for a stock O2-UK image? I need to return to stock but it's not possible to downgrade firmware while S-ON and the only RUU I can find is an older one than HTC restored my phone to. (I had subsequently restored a stock European HTC image but stupidly didn't take a backup of the O2 rom first.
I really need a TWRP backup of this so I can restore it. Please help if you can.
Thanks
Hi, so I've just restored to stock again (retgb device, XT1805 i believe) and I have lost my IMEI. All of the guides I've seen means flashing to a validus ROM or something, which I do not want. Is there any way of recovering it whilst on stock? I'm not sure if I am using the correct firmware as I couldnt find the specific UK firmware.
When u haven't got efs backup,U must flash validus make efs backup and flash stock and restore it
And while u will flash stock ignore modemst erasing commands
Hi guys, noob question.
I've a P9 Plus VIE-L09 (Android 7.0 - EMUI 5.0.3) rooted with SuperSU v2.82-SR3
I need to unroot and completely remove SuperSU from the phone.
In addition to uninstalling it from the application menu, what I have to do?
Thank you in advance
Hi, after some research I may have found a possible solution from this post by @osm0sis.
So if I understand correctly to remove completely SuperSU from my phone I have to flash stock system.img from TWRP.
My build number is VIE-L09C432B387 and I've an unlocked bootlader.
I need to extract system.img from the firmware "VIE-L09C432B387 FullOTA-MF" and then flash it, right? I will not lose TWRP or re-lock my bootloader?
Please it's very important, thanks.
Guys nobody can help? I read here on the site that I can manually remove root by deleting some files located in the /system directory.
Could be a solution? Thanx.
