I have tried searching the forums but have found nothing yet, so I was hoping someone could help me. I am currently using Enomther's rom, but this has happened on every rom I've tried (Desire, Cyan, etc.). My problem is the Nexus One is running 100% of the time. In comparison, the screen was on for 5.2% of the time. And I have definitely noticed the battery. Even if in standby, it loses 10-20% battery an hour. By the time I make it home from school, I have about 20% battery left, with almost no usage whatsoever. I've checked to see if it's any apps that won't close, but my highest used app was only a few minutes according to spare parts. Cpu usuage is barely visible as well in spare parts.

Looks like an application is holding the wake lock. Instant Messengers are good candidates for draining the battery. In my experience, Meebo loses connection frequently, and eBuddy has a mode to keep the connection, but it drains the battery very fast (AFAIR it has a mode that's easier on the battery by checking for messages every 15 minutes, but that's not all that instant anymore).
Good job you have AnyCut installed.
Use it to place a shortcut to the 'Testing' app (or dial *#*#4636#*#*), and use that to look at your battery history.
This will be able to confirim if your N1 is indeed staying awake, and if you use the 'partial wake usage' drop down box, it will tell you what's keeping it that way.
For partial wake usage, the only thing that pops out Android System which has a full bar. Nothing else is above a sliver.
Since you have titanium backup, why not make a backup, completely wipe your phone, and see if the problem persists? Then, add components at a time and see when the problem reappears. ie ROM -> a few apps -> a few apps -> etc. This will narrow down your search and hopefully pinpoint the problem.
You also might wanna look at logcat (e.g. via aLogCat), sometimes there are a lot of messages of runaway applications.
Here's my logcat

No spare parts?
Downlaod it and try setting the end button behavious to go to sleep.
Seems like an obvious thing, but its worth a shot if you haven't already tried it.

Yep, of course I have spare parts. I set that, but what exactly is the end button?
Edit* I've uninstalled every app on my phone, and yet the problem still persists. Running 100% of the time. What the heck is wrong with my phone?

I think your best bet us to just wipe everything, and reinstall the rom. That should get things going smoothly.
do you have trackball succession mod? that may be the reason.

No, but I did have trackball wake enabled. Would that matter? Also, I've installed Cyan and the problem seems to be gone, although battery still isn't great :/
I would figure that trackball wake will keep waking your phone when you accidentally hit the trackball when the phone is in your pocket or bags?

One thing to check that I've run in to twice (unfortunately) is constant "syncing" of email. I only noticed it because the email app constantly showed the syncing circle (not in the notification bar, in the app). Clearning the storage/settings for email cleared it up, but it took a few days to find out what was causing it to never sleep.

Yes but my phones running 100% of the time and my screens running 1/20 of that time. Surely my screen on time would increase as well? As well I'm sitting in class half the day and know for sure that I'm not hitting the trackball.

Thanks, I'm going to look into this. Would this correspond to UID 10014 or Media having extremely high network usage as well? I just noticed these two things constantly have full network usage bars but don't know exactly what either are. How would I clear the settings/storage? I'm using a Desire Rom now if it matters.
Hey guys,
i got yesterday my Nokua Lumia 920 and i have some problems with my new baby.
The battery life is not really the best with normal usage for me (Music+Whatsapp and reading news) i got about 6-7h.
do u have some tips how i can save more energy ? I turna always my mobile data off and ofc my wifi and gps. Do u recommend the "Windiws Phone Power Safvr Mode"? Does it help ?
Thanks
I know NFC/wireless charging is a huge feature of the new Lumia, but everyone that I've seen complain about battery life says that turning NFC off saves a lot. You can always charge with the usb cable/adapter.

thanks mate, i´ll give a try. i turned the nfc off. lets see does it work.
NFC off helped mine. Since I don't need the NFC all the time I don't leave it on. No big deal if you ask me. Also check your background tasks.

The performance is very good. Not simular to android, but great with the animations and without any lags. The worst thing is that wp8 closes automaticly your apps when u hit on the home button. So i always have to start whatsapp over and over again.
I´m coming from Samsung Galaxy S II with Android 4.1 CyanogenMOD 10 aka Siyah Kernel

What do u mean with background tasks ? Push mail is on and WhatsApp.
I turned NFC off as well.
Windows Phone does *not* close apps when you press the Start button. Instead, it suspends them; they receive no CPU time*, so they don't drain the battery, but they can be resumed exactly where they were left whenever you want, instantly (although if the phone gets low on RAM, it will start to "tombstone" the apps to persistent storage and then remove them from RAM, which causes the resume to take a moment).
However, the general requirement for third-party apps on WP7 was that they must always launch clean when launched from the Start screen (including app list). The OS could either resume them or do a clean launch, and it was technically up to the app developer to choose, but MS would reject apps from the store that resumed instead of launching cleanly. In WP8, that restriction is removed (or so I've heard), but the apps need to be updated to take advantage of it.
To get back to a suspended app, you use the Back button. Either tap on it to go backward one level in the navigation history (for example, if you accidentally hit Start, you would hit Back to get back where you were), or press-and-hold it for a moment to open the task switcher, which allows you to jump into and resume any app that is resident in memory.
* Some apps are designed to continue running in the background, and will consume power. However, very much unlike Android where almost everything seems to enjoy sitting in the background gnawing on the battery, an app must be specially coded to do this, and for the store to approve it there must be a valid reason for the behavior.
I tried to use this app but, didn't worked for me...

it looks nice indeed but sadly this causes the screen to be always on after recieving a message and with our phone having a screen on time of max 5.5 hours you dont really want this kind of behaviour.
say you get a message late at night before your going to bed and you just charged your phone your gonna wake up to a dead phone as overnight the battery will be drained empty.

The app have battery saving option. We can set the time for it to be off.
The worst is that I activate but, nothing happend... Once that I have a lot of
stuff frozen/uninstalled, I though the problem might be because of that.
That's why I ask if someone else can try it and report if it works, to see if
the issue is from the app or from my settings.

Open Knock²+ app, go to the tab "APPLICATIONS", you'll see several apps and in front of the app icon you need to activate.
If you don't have Facebook it won't appear there, only apps that you have installed, and messages you have
All of my app are activated. I tryed it out by sending an e-mail but it doesnt work..:banghead:
Edit:all of my apps where deactivated! I am an idiot!
It works great!
Is the battery drain significant?

I don't notice a big drain but, also didn't had a lot of "messages".
During the night (or other period) you select it to be OFF.
Explore the settings :good:
Yes i saw it has a lot of options. It can be off during the night, its off in your pocket and you can set the after what period it turns off!:good: Great app!
for me, the only problem is that the flash isn't used, even when i set it to double or single. it simply doesnt fire up ^^

Depends on the user, settings and of course if you receive 20 or 200 messages a day don't drain more than a normal app.

For me it use 15-20% overnight, when sleep mode is on. And from 37 to 15% in 6 hours is too much, turned off..

I just installed it yesterday, so far work OK. During the night I use "Sleep mode" and battery drain as usually, but I will check today how it's work during day time.
Really like the setup of the app and giving it also a try. Only thing that have noticed is tht phonecalls are shown only when another notification has come up. Will see if theres a way to controll it fro msettings.
Battery is still normal for me, lets see what longer usage period is showing.
the same for me ,it only start working when sms notification comes, after that calls notification works fine, led down t work ,and poked mode down t work ,it down t give a dam is the phone in your pocked or not ,im on stock JB ,rooted ,BL unlocked .
Hello,
I originally wanted to post in here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2497660&page=213 but I wasn't allowed to because i'm new and whatnot.. so if anyone who knows where this post belongs could put it there i'd be thankful
To my problem, i really don't know what's going on but something is keeping my phone awake. i already greenified every possible app i have there, i have removed all widgets from my home screen, turned every locationsetting i could find off and left my phone in flight mode for 4 hours after completely charging and it still won't sleep. I'd be really thankful for any help with this
Wakelock Detector http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2179651
the 3rd screenshot is from wakelock detector.. but still thanks for the reply...
here are some more screenshots.. although they dont tell me that much honestly
info http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-4/help/suspendbackoff-wakelock-killing-battery-t2460576 and here http://www.reddit.com/r/nexus4/comments/1fhib2/suspend_backoff_wakelock/
ok again i am actually really thankful that you tried to help me it just sucks if you don't know whats wrong and have to find your way through all that stuff alone.
but the thing is that in these 4 hours where i had 9 seconds of deep sleep i didnt use the phone, i had wlan turned off, was in airplane mode, had all apps greenified, i dont have chrome installed or any other potential source so... and as far as i get it suspend backoff is activated if there are to many wakeup calls in a short period of time which somehow was the case...
but all that said i updated to cm 11 yesterday and the problem is gone. today i had it online connected to my wlan for a couple of hours without using it (still most apps marked in greenify) and well the pictures speek for themselves
ok scratch my last post.. we are back where we left >( and i have a feeling its one of the google apps. god i dont wanna delete apps one by one until i maaaaybe have it back to normal
Hi guys, my phone apparently kills whatsapp, no matter what I do. I added it to exceptions everywhere: battery optimization, application start to manually, everything. Still my phone kills whatsapp and I dont get any notifications until I start the application. Its like is goes in a deep sleep or smth. My Mate 20 pro did not do that.
Any idea? Thanks a lot

Try removing it and reinstalling it again and see what happens. Never had this issue.. Maybe even a hard reset.
Yes I will reinstall, i thought about that too, just that I did not want to restore backups and crap

Try resting the phone hardreset. Maybe some missing or another app interfering. Never had issue. So if u removed it and installed it again same issue try resting the phone.
I confirm that reinstalling worked.
