Hello, some time ago I started having problems related to the mobile data on my phone. It just acted wierd ( I'll exlain it below ) and then after some time I started having simillar problems with WiFi. So I decided to do a clean wipe on my phone and install the ICS stock ROM again. After doing it, I stopped having problems with the WiFi, but I continue to have problems with my mobile data.
This is the problem:
Some random time after enabling the mobile data transfer, the "H" icon on top of the screen turns to "3G" and the data connection just... stops. If I disable data connection then, the "3G" icon will still be on top of the screen for some time, and, after it disappears, I can re-enable the mobile data transfer and it will work again for some random time. ( Less then 5 minutes )

Now, I really hope that the problem is related to my carrier, as I said, I did a clean wipe and installed the ROM again and it didn't help, so the only option left would be that there's a problem with my phone's hardware, which I probably won't be able to fix.
Also, my phone specs:
Model: LG Optimus 2X P990
ROM: Stock 4.0.4 - v30A EUROPE-OPEN
The phone is rooted.

My g1 have big problem, it loss signal all day, most the time. I tried turn on air plane mode and turn off, or retart the phone, wipe, up another rom, up newest radio version, use 2g network only. But it doesn't work.
It loss signal random, i can't control or do something to have signal again. even i change many other sim cards. but i discover one thing: seem this problem related air plane mode. because in some rom version, i turned off air plane mode but it didnt, even i restart my phone it still on. i must take out the battery for long time and put it again.
Some time it have signal again but it only for short time.
How can i fix this problem, please help me.

hhmmm...Try to upgrade to the latest radio for g1. If that doesn't help, maybe your rom has messed up apn settings or the service in your area dropped.

I can add few things to this since I experience loss of signal multiple times every day:
I have 2 G1s. On both of them it happens:
1. Using different ROMS (CM, Super-D, OpenEclair)
2. Using different recoveries (RA 1.5.2 and 1.6.2)
3. At different times of the day
4. Using different radios (older radio and the newest one, sorry I can never remember the numbers)
5. Across different states ( I took one of them thru 5 different states and it kept loosing signal)
What happens is that I start a program that requires data (twidroid, FB, Gmail, Market) and I see my connection get stuck on the uplink, go away completely and restart the radio. Another way it will do it, is that it will stay on blank screen (or downloading screen) and there will be no uplink or downlink shown)
Tried: wiping, re-flashing radio, re-flashing rom, getting rid of few apps.
Anyone with any insight on this? I can get a log next time this happens if anyone wants to take a look.

i tried many diferent rom, radio, and recorvery too. but it still doesn't work?
Now i discover that any connect in my g1 seem doesn't work. wifi can search but when i connected it can't open any page even google. gps can receavie signal, bluetooth can turn on but no one can see me or i can' connect to my headset bluetooth.
May i think it is mainboard's problem? i opened my g1 and see anten signal very perfect, don't have any space or something like that.
Today was the first time I installed a mod onto my device. I updated the radio to TheOfficial_Nexus1_Radio_Update_4.04.00.03_2.zip and flashed CM5.0.6. Everything has been great, EXCEPT my device won't connect to 3G coverage. It clearly displays 3G, but no internet applications will load (ie browser, email, weather). When I force the device to use only 2G / Edge, then it works fine, but obviously speeds are SLOW. WiFi too works flawlessly. Any ideas? I tried going back to TheOfficial_Nexus1_Radio_Update_4.03.00.21_2.zip and this did NOT solve the problem.
Ideas please? My N1 has become a 2G device in a matter of hours, SUCKS!
I should add I'm on T-Mobile and prior to any modifications today I had excellent 3G coverage.
For testing purposes...have you tried to flash 5.0.3 and seeing if your phone still has 3G issues?
I will try this right now. I was told it doesn't matter if I flash the radio before or after install... true?
No difference with 5.0.3. When 3G is displayed no data will transfer. When H is displayed, then I get good data transfer. However, the H is only there maybe 1 time every 5 minutes or so.
Could be an issue with not having rooted the device properly? When I rooted I never got the SU notification like I have seen in some threads showing a picture where you have to click "allow" for the device to allow root. I do have the app superuser permission on the device, but it's empty when I open it.

Well you can always just go from scratch. Get into bootloader, flash all of the stock PASSIMG images and then start over...
-flash recovery
-go into recovery, perform the traditional wipes
-flash the rom of choice
-reboot and see what happens

i've only been working out of home today. tomorrow ill be a better test. i took suggestions from posts i placed in the official cm5.0.6 thread in the rom development forum... and i changed some information in the build.prop. i think it has actually helped my issue... will be reporting back if i'm wrong..

Since about 1 year i'm a happy owner of the Galaxy Note. As the stock rom was quite crappy (eating battery like crazy) I decided to swap it with a CM10.0 flavor (Cookies & Cream).
Well, installing the ROM went fine and the phone worked great, except one thing.
Since the beginning that i'm using custom roms on this phone, i'm randomly having issues with the telephone or 3G signal. As I thought, maybe the ROM is full of bugs, I wiped the phone and installed the official CM10.0 ROM. Unfortunately that solved not my problem. Since a couple weeks ago i updated to CM10.1, and still having this issue.
However, some issues where solved since the last upgrade:
- First ROM (CM10 flavor, Cookies & Cream): randomly dropping the signal, and asking for a SIM pin. Sometimes even a restart was needed
- Second ROM (Official CM10): same as above, but less issues with the SIM, mostly signal related
- Third ROM (Official CM10.1: SIM issue gone, however the phone is sill loosing the data signal + sometimes even the telephone signal (restart needed).
When I loose my signal, something it's just the data connection (3G/H). The strange thing is that most of the time that this happens the data connection or telephone signal restores when I enable/open the screen by using the side/home button. Well, that's very strange as I have no power saving apps or something like that running.
But unfortunately this is not always the solutions. Usually 1x per 2 days I have to reboot the phone in order to bring the signal for telephone + data back alive.
SIM has already been replaced, with no luck. I did install this ROM on another phone (from a friend) as well - which had in the beginning the same issues, however things seems to be become stable (haven't heard him anymore)
I already tried different modems on my phone (XXLSA / XXLSX, currently using XXLSO), but none of them solved this loosing data/telephone signal.
It starts to drive me crazy, as I use this phone for my work too.... being unreachable is quite annoying
Anyone an idea what goes wrong here, or how I can find out why this phone is going nuts?

Hello,
i have problem with my mobile data connections.
The device have stock rom P88020a-262-000 (4.1.2).
Since any weeks, the mobile data connections are buggy. It don't receive anything.
Problem:
- Internet connection are full and mobile data active ( same issue with 3G, H, U, E and G )
- The apps sending, but never receive any data
- After Reboot device works fine for a while.
WLAN works fine, but gain battery .
I dont have use a battery tool or firewall (only lookout). I have now tried com.gargamel.data.connection.fix and com.lrm4android.tgcfFree both of them dont resolve it.
Also if i disable connection and start connection again.
Also if i switch to plain mode and back.
Only the reboot helps for a while.
Dose anybody have a clue oder better solution for that?
Maybe try to reconfigure your APN and reboot, that's the only thing I can suggest.
If it doesn't work try your sim in another phone and see if the problem persists to lock out the possibility of a sim related failure.

My Friends have same issues they have also 4X HD. Same issue still at v10 and v20a. I hope v20b will fix that issue.

Also had problems with 4.0.3 and 4.1.2 out of the blue, the mobile data fluctuates and stops while downloading big files or even just going on youtube.. When i reset the mobile data, it runs fine and then it slows down again. Also tried the V20C stock/deodexed and it was the same deal. (Even at a different geologic location).. My suggestion is to download and flash CM 10.1 Nightly Aug. 13... It solves the problem and your headache.
I have new informations.
A Co Worker have same issue on 4x HD. He using also O2 (Telefonica).
Now, i have new pay period, all works fine now.
I think, the problem are related to reduction of speed after limit reached. Then the 4X HD have trouble with this reduced speed.
On an other phone the reduced speed are working fine.
Dose any body have a clue?

I have quite a huge problem for me. Since yesterday I began to stumble upon problems with mobile data connection. For the first day phone restart did the job. Today in the morning it stopped working at all - no data, service or Wi-Fi. Was on the last available xiaomi.eu and thought it may be some problem with software, as the reboots helped. Did a clean flash of the same rom and nothing happened, then did a clean flash of Pixel Experience and Wi-Fi with service came back but no mobile data. Tried different APN settings, tried my fiance's SIM card nothing helped. Also - during the phone calls service randomly turns off. Could there be some soft side help? Or does it point to radio module ie. hardware?

Having the same problem. Additionally, when removing the SIM card, WiFi drops out occasionally, despite me being right next to the access point. When trying to select a network manually, it sometimes says: " Couldn't find networks. Try again."
